  1. you have a '95 ? trx300fw, yes, it makes a difference on what you post after the 300 numbers !. '95 trx300 would mean a 2wd, '95 trx300fw means 4wd :-).
  2. lol, yeah..something winked at me when i pulled the cover !!..rofl.
  3. jeep, if ya drill on the right spot at the back of that bearing ?, large enough to get a long drift punch in the hole ?, its always best to try to whack on the back of the bearing from two sides, this means, your shooting to hit the bearing out of there evenly !!. if you get it sideways ?, your wasting your time !. always try to smack on both sides of the bearing when hitting it from the drilled hole. DO NOT HIT IT WITH THE WIRE CLIP STILL IN THERE !!!, all that will do is bust the case out, then its ruined.
  4. i use my 20 ton shop press to straighten bent racks, bumpers, only draw back is there is not much room to get the whole thing in there !..lol. just takes some setting up, right boards laying in right place, presto, bend comes out better than it was !. results will vary !!..lol.
  5. welcome to the forums, please start a tread in the correct section :-).
  6. i can call your boss, and tell him to put you on vacation if ya want ?..lol. no, really..glad ya hang'ing in there bro !!.

  9. what is tenth digit on vin number ?, from left to right, read over, let me know what the tenth digit is ?.
  10. news flash !!, the 1996 trx300fw is an odd ball on c.d.i's, most times it will need to have the correct c.d.i. for that year only !.
  11. you need to find out where you got the c.d.i from ??
  12. ah yes, the saga continues !..lol. as i posted a pic of the rear diff in jeeps thread, here it is again, was trying to make a good rear diff ?, but its DOA !..LOL. here's a couple pics of the '97 trx300fw as it sits in my shop, waiting on a good rear diff !..lol.
  13. believe it or not, what you see is the diff full of crap , that i have no idea what it is ??, lol. got the ring gear out, and under all this was plumb full of whatever it is ???. the cases are rotted all to heck, ring gear and pinion gear '' could '' be used if ya had no choice ?, but the end of the pinion gear had a ton of rust, wear on it, i'd never use it, my bud would i bet !..rofl.
  14. on another note, i've got to rebuild a rear diff, lets see how i luck out ?, i'll post to here if i think of taking pic's ?..lol.
  15. getting the pinion needle bearing out is a shot in the dark bro !. toss salt, say a prayer, donate to your church..whatever ?, aint gonna make this job any easier !. this is why honda ( way back ! ) always said to just replace the whole case ?!. its a matter of pure freaking luck getting that wire to rotate, enough to get the end to show up in that tiny hole ?!?. i've had some that took less than 30 min's to get out ?, and others over 2 hrs !!!. its PURE LUCK !!. you WILL NOT get that bearing out, without destroying the case if you do not get that wire clip out !!!!.
  16. just got home with the donor '96 trx300. gonna leave it in the truck from right now, got to build a rear diff for the '97 trx300fw in my shop, so i can roll it !..lol. here's the '96 trx300. i'll post some pics of the '97 trx300fw as i got her torn down some right now later on :-).
  17. rofl, yeah..and 12 inch lift huh ?..lol.
  18. well outlaws, i picked up another project from my bud yesterday, 1997 trx300fw, she's rough !. unloaded it from my truck last night, rolled it into my shop, started ripping it apart. needs a lot of TLC !. getting new cam chain, rear diff is totaled !!, axle seems to look good so far ?. racks are dead, plastics are rough. its green, but i am gonna transfer a red '96 trx300fw over to this frame, two bikes, will make one good one !. no pic's yet, maybe take some later today ?. need to make another run out to his place, and pick up the '96 trx300, get it back home here, and start ripping it apart. the '97 trx300fw is in my shop right now with no rear end on it , can't roll it now..lol.
  19. i dont know the reason for them ?, other than maybe keep dirt and mud off the shock shaft ?. i would at least leave a couple inches at the top.
