  1. i'll find one..sooner or later..lol, not in a rush at all, just love to get all my ducks in a row , so when the time comes to '' dig in '' ?, i'l be locked and loaded !..rofl.
  2. np, '87 has 4 wires, all the other have 5-6 wires, so be warned if yours is different !..lol.
  3. doing auto engines is a big difference from atv engines !..lol. i could see using a ring compressor. but for one piston ?..nah..lol.
  4. you wouldn't happen to have an extra ignition switch for a 1987 trx350D foreman would ya ?, with a oem key !..lol.
  5. how the heck did you get the cylinder/head on..and not catch this broken ring ?, thats either the top ring or second ring, and they go into the cylinder first, soooo..how in the world did you get all that together, and miss it ????.
  6. i've done tons of piston rings to cylinder, and not once have i ever used a ring compressor to install pistons into cylinders. all it takes is a good set of small fingers, or long finger nails, or a small flat blade screw driver. maybe sport atv engines are different ?..lol.

  8. for the record, clutch cover, and cases are TWO different area's !!!..lol, but what ever..i hope its ok 4 ya !.
  9. ok, well..i just hope all your internal parts get tight enough between the cases ??!!..lol.
  10. haha..either the rocker shaft o ring is bad ?, or valve adjustment cap o-ring is bad ?, or..leaking rocker box ?, dont know yet, have not got that far yet..lol. i did however !!!!, round up a pump bracket, pump rubber holder, trunk, solenoid/fuse holder, dash, and..wait for it...A LEFT SIDE COVER !!!!!, all from my honey hole ( my buds place )..hehe..saved me a ton of money today.
  11. my first thought is leaking gas cap ?, or seeing how you have not over hauled the carb ?, you might be smelling blow back from the air vents on the front fender ?.
  12. no, not all models have that part on them.
  13. did you use hondabond on top of the case gasket ?????. if ya did ?, thats a no no !.
  14. i start them by hand, then tighten them with my ratchet down good and snug, i don't use torque wrenches ( yes..i know the book tells ya too !..lol ), once i get them pretty snug, i jam a screw driver blade in between its gear and the primary gear teeth, then give each bolt a good tighten, thats how i do it.
  15. and if your gonna go through all the trouble to pull the carb, remove the float bowl, just to replace the float needle, why not replace it all while you have it open ??.
  16. just came in from my shop, rolled the ole girl in, removed the front fender, pulled the c.d.i. , heated it with my heat gun, got on, kicked her over with spark plug laying on top of engine, seen spark !, hmmm, put spark plug in, gave her a short burst of starting fluid, she took a bit, noticed i had to take the decompression cable off the exhaust valve, after a few kicks over, IT FIRED UP AND RAN FOR A SEC OR TWO !!. soo..tells me the c.d.i. was indeed bad !. i could see the swell on the rubber on the c.d.i. already before i heated it with my heat gun, this told me the circuit board on the c.d.i. was headed to the grave. but it did run !. i sure hope ya'll ain't in no hurry to see this look new ?, this will be a complete tear down to frame. i think i scored pretty good on this buy 🙂
  17. got some oem parts ordered, some nos from ebay, and some from partzilla. parts on the way: new oem fuel pump ( oem ), new grips ( oem ), new fuel cut-off relay ( oem ), new c.d.i. ( oem ) all from partzilla. new ( nos oem ) fuel sending unit from ebay. for now, all i like is the left side kick panel ( red )...lol ..anyone got a spare ?..lol.
  18. aghhhh !!!..thats '' all balls '' !!!..total junk !!!, send it back, get your money back, buy a shindy kit !!!.

  20. your right, considering i've brought worse home , i think i did pretty good !.
  21. a new petcock is in order...unless you can get that screw out ?..lol. most times they need replacing . shindy carb kit, dont buy oem from honda, price wise, its better to get the shindy kit.

    battery weak, or stator bad ?, or reg/rec bad ?. test it with a multimeter, set on 12 v dc on battery, rev it, see what it reads ?.
  23. well outlaws, it did not take long for me to round up another trx350D !, 1987 trx350D foreman 4x4, got local a few towns over, needs a few things ( like my touch !..lol ), gotta get a c.d.i. , fuel pump, sending unit ( sigh )..thats high dollar !, maybe a fan control unit ?, battery, ignition switch ( has one on it..but looks china ?..lol ), and no telling what else its gonna take to get this back to new shape ?, guy said he'd buy it back after i got it fixed, and looking like the '88 trx350D ?!..LOL. i said..sure..but it wont be for what i paid you for it !!!!!..lol. one piece its missing that matters ?..THE LEFT SIDE COVER !..GRRRRRR...LOL. here she is right after i unloaded her out of my truck.
  24. outstanding !. got my hands on another trx350D ( i'm a sucker for these old girls ! ), just unloaded out of the truck, keep an eye out in the restoration area !.
