  3. you can't buy new carbs for these any more, they are discontinued today.
  4. these carbs do not have a diaphragm in them, they have slides, and butter fly valves.
  5. this ----> SCA0412ASDHA114 , is what should have been on the D.I.D. box !. links are the same on the chain you purchased, but i sure do not like the way it sits on the cam teeth !..lol.
  6. good info !. but..from my past work..most times the ring gear and pinion gear teeth wear as a set, i would wonder if its a good idea to mix and match sets ?, i always replace as a set..but this is me..lol.
  7. haha..guess not !..lol. i've got a claim filed as of right now, its a dash for this '87 trx350d i'm working on, dang thing cost me 60 something bucks ?, all i needed was the ignition switch , and the tracking number was last scanned april 2nd, and it shows N/A on where its at !!??..lol.
  8. they maybe the same parts ?, but you can not order for a 1998 sep !..lol. i dont do mixing year parts..but if later model parts will work ?, then sure..he might get by with it ?.
  9. i've got a ebay package that is out in lala land ????..lol..was shipped april the 28th, and now i have no idea where its at ??..looked on the usps website, they say NO SHIPPING FROM OVER SEAS, AND TO THERE !. ( and my package was mailed here in the states..lol ). the post office right now is all jacked up !.
  10. what ever you buy from honda ??..DO NOT BUY IT FROM PARTZILLA !!..LOL.
  11. thats a '08, his post ^^^, says 1998 ??. look up a 1998 rear set, then tell me you can buy the gears sep ?.
  12. you can not replace the valve seats, they are pressed in the head from the factory, you either have to buy a new head ?, or a used head. no, you do not need to replace the valves..UNLESS !!!, they are bent or damaged ?. the cam chain adjuster is automatic , remove the screw/bolt from the end, use a small screw driver to twist it back into the body, once you do this, you will see how it works.
  13. you better check with your local post office , i read they are NOT doing over seas shipping right now ?!.
  14. if its a china fuel pump from ebay ( about 20 bucks ? ), they wont last no time. and now after checking with partzilla, i see they jacked their pump prices up another 30 bucks !!, i bought one the other day, about 130, now they are over 167 !..lol.
  15. is it me , or is the top ex stud show to be cracked on the head ?. remove the valves, clean them up with a bench wire wheel , lap the head valve area, check the valves in a cordless drill to see if any of them are bent ?. you will need a valve spring compressor tool to install the valves back in the head when you get ready to work on it.
  16. sense when does honda sell the ring gear and pinion gear separate ?, i just looked on partzilla ( i wont buy from them now, they jacked their prices up even more ! ), they show the ring and pinion gears as a set, you can not buy just one or the other !.
  17. all of these models have nothing but straight axles !. parts list : a new axle, new ring gear, new pinion gear ( you have to buy the ring gear and pinion gear as sets ! ), all new rear differential bearings and seals. may as well look into rear hubs, the splines maybe stripped out on them ?.
  18. best tip: turn the atv on its left side about 45 degree's to make it easier to install the right side parts, this will make it a lot easier to sit all the parts back in, while installing the cover. WARNING !!!!! : BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN PULLING RIGHT SIDE COVER !, YOU MAY PULL THE KICK STARTER SHAFT OUT, AND DROP THE BACK END WASHER DOWN INTO THE LOWER ENGINE ?!!, try to keep the kick starter shaft pressed in, while you pull cover !!.
  19. i've seen it many times, its pretty common on all honda..or any brand atv for that matter if they have sat up for a long time.
  20. sounds like a fuel pump issue, or fuel cut-off relay issue to me.
  21. lol, good deal..i sure hope your taking notes on this ?, there is a pop quiz at the end of class !..lol.
  22. very well posb some of the friction plates are sticking !?!.
  23. when you turning the shift drum, ( assuming you have the tranny right ?, and that part installed facing the right way ? ) then that part ( the long leg ) will sit where its suppose to when you get it in neutral. just turn the output shaft when your turning the shift drum, it should change gears.
