  4. omg..yep..your right !. yeah, just put the T mark ( line under the T ) in the center of the hole, adjust the valves, yu'll be fine :-). i wonder how many they did on this production run like this ?, i would call honda corp, send them this pic, and ask them HOW THE HECK DO YOU SET THE VALVES WHEN THE TIMING MARK IS IN THE WRONG PLACE ???!!..LOL.
  5. as retro pointed out ^^^, your taking a very big gamble here bro !. you can try the short cut if ya want ?, but to me ?, that engine will not last very long if you do not do this the right way. i hope you decide to do it the right way ?, but if not ?, oh well..you will live and learn what short cuts can do in the long run !.

  8. can you get a close up shot, angle in the thread hole, i can't see the threads in the hole. i've never seen the notch where you say it is.
  9. update: got the motor all together, all hooked back up ( just what counts ) , added oil, turned key on, choked it, pushed the start button, she lives again !. i'm tired..done for tonight.
  10. gonna head back out to the shop, and try to get this puppy together and running, when i come back in, you should ?, have this 300 motor out of the frame !..lol.

  12. impossible !!!, the line is either on right hand side, or left hand side of the threads. no way in the world is the notch at 7 o'clock like your saying.
  13. the line UNDER the T mark, should line up with the line in the threads that run from outside to inside on the inspection hole, its made into the threads.
  14. got the lower engine in the frame, slid the jug down on the bottom end, taking a short break, then back to work !. i hope ?..i can get it all back together tonight, and running ?!.
  15. hot dang...you finally started getting the motor out !!..lol.
  16. update: ok outlaws, i just came in to take a break ( leg is killing me ! ) as you can see from all these pics, i went through everything as i put the lower engine back together, here's some pic's for all you pic perv's !.
  17. haha...as i said..this is a flash back from that stupid '05 trx500fm !!..lol. yes..it sucks..and yes..i do have plenty of parts to put another lower engine back together, i may just do that once i get this all back together ?. right now, i've got to get the motor back in the frame, and start putting the top end back on the lower engine.
  18. WOW !, that is a mess to say the least !!!..lol. from looking at that scren ^^, i know what i would do..but this is me..lol.
  19. just put a glove on, or bar handed is how i do it, zip the nut off with my air impact driver with a 27mm socket, RIGHT HANDED THREADS !.
  20. air impact is your best friend !!!!. 27mm socket, right handed threads !.
  21. toodeep is CORRECT !!, the washer was left off at one point when this motor was taken down. it was not from my work, as i said..i never take the tranny all apart ?, BUT I WILL DEFF START CHECKING TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ALL WASHERS ON THEM !..LOL.
  22. yep..deff has had water inside the engine !!!. as for that black gunk ?, no telling what its from ?. word of caution !!!!!!!!!!!!!, that centrifugal clutch nut is left handed threads !!!. turn it clockwise to remove it. the change clutch is right handed threads ( normal threads ). both have to come off in order to get the cam chain out. the oil pump, oil pump cross over line all have to come out in order to get the cam chain out. i will be putting my '88 trx350D motor back together today (i hope ?!..lol ) please take the time to study the pic's of parts going back together, same engine as yours !.
