  1. @Melatv, radio shack has been out of bizz for some years now in the states, i miss them alot !, i lived there when i needed something electronic..lol.
  2. i see, or break off rusty bolts on a daily basis , if i did not see this happen ?, i'd think i did not have an old atv !..lol. the way i do it, i start out with a small drill bit, then work my way up to almost the same size bit as the broken bolt, most times i just run a metric tap down in the hole.
  3. ty for the update !. glad ya got it fixed :-).
  4. update: after most of the day, the time has arrived !, motor is in, all mocked up, oil added ?, check !, tested for spark ?, check !. short burst of starting fluid ?..check !, second kick ?...SHE LIVES ANOTHER DAY !. but i did hit a short snag !!. the stupid kick starter spring came off where i thought i had it hooked inside the case ?..nope..was not right, had to tilt the ole girl on her side a tad, pull the clutch side cover back off, and discovered the oversight right off the bat when i got the cover off. fixed that real quick, all back together, runs pretty good on a shot of starting fluid, me and my bud are happy campers !.
  5. Louis, i envoy you big time !!!. i would have set that mf on fire by now, and went out and bought another honda atv ( manual shift mind ya ! )..lol.
  6. correct. either or throttle cable attached ?, slider should rest on bottom of carb at all times.
  7. throttle at bars is screwed all the way in, idle screw is turned all the way out so slider is sitting on bottom of carb, you can check this with the throttle cable not attached to the slider, this will let slider all the way down in carb.
  8. make sure you got the slider sitting correctly inside the carb !..lol. look at the bottom of the slide, it has an angle on one side at the bottom. this faces the idle screw.
  9. that slider MUST bottom out inside the carb !, if it does not ?, then you get high rev's as if your operating the throttle.
  10. OP, check to make sure your throttle cable is routed correctly into the top of he carb ?, through cap once screwed in, then through the large spring, then runs down the side of slider, hooks into the bottom of slider.
  11. recons dont have a butterfly valve in the carbs, they only have a slider. the butterfly valve is only on the choke plunger.
  12. here's the motor all together, did the best i could, considering i had nothing but junk parts to start with !..lol. i'm tired. enjoy the pics !.
  13. i use my wire wheel on bench grinder, takes gaskets right off.
  14. 2 1/2 hours, i've split, and torn down to complete trx300 engines, who wants to put one back together ?..lol.
  15. i think your right ?, the swing arm bearing is shot on that side, no telling how long ?, and it made the carrier bearing at the output shaft blow up !.
  16. your back ?, and you came back for more punishment ?..lol.
  17. well, the tear down has begun !. i thought this was gonna be a complete engine tear down in order to fix the output shaft ?, well, as you can see from the following pics, after i got the motor out of the frame ( yes..without removing the foot rest ), after closer inspection, the center case not only has a busted off output shaft ?, but the whole left side center case is cracked big time !. so, now i must take these two trx300 2wd motors i have on hand, and build one from scratch !.
  18. lol..having atv repair withdraws ?..rofl.
  19. lol, i deal with that '' small stuff '' EVERY DANG DAY BRO !..ROFL.
  20. i run mudlite AT's, they come in stock size, not over aggressive, nor under. bottom line, all depends on where your located and ride ?. everyone has their brands, mine just happens to be mudlite AT's.
  21. when sinking it in water..your right..but leaving it shut off is never a good idea..lol. couple times forgetting to open it back up will leave a bad taste in your mouth for sure !..lol.
  22. i use that super clean on ALL my nasty engines, and i wont use anything else !. i've tried them all !, nothing touches these oily, muddy, greasy engines like super clean does !. removes orange mud stains as well, but will leave it kinda dark gray from oxidation ?, then i buff them..but you wont do that, so a good rinse of water will do just fine !.
