  1. Way to go @jeepwm69. Once again I’m confused lol!
  2. No no. Were keeping this a fixing thread lol not Oil. I gotta fire this thing up! Checked the official Shell website. It's good. Plus WallyWorld is $24 for that same jug. So Rotella it will be. Gotta save some funds these days.
  3. After closing inspection of the Rotella link I posted the T4 does NOT have JASO MA on the bottle...
  4. Maybe just go with Rotella then? I’ll be able to get 2 changes out of that 5L jug. Price seems right, @Fishfiles is a believer. @retro hasn’t seen anything yet on oil might be a touchy topic for him!
  5. Your stressing me out! I'm so excited to fire this thing up, but at the same time frightened to what actually occurs. is GN4 Synthetic or Conventional?
  6. Hehe. That Rotella is $32 plus tax for 5L. That is actually somewhat cheap for this quantity based on everyday prices. May dip ON SALE for $25/5L. GN4 I think they want $39 for 3.78L (1gallon) - your guess of 10$/L is close. Keep in mind this is Canadian funds I'm referencing. This is the land of cheap Medicare not oil or gas. Side note; dropped the cylinder off should have it hopefully later this week. Shop is too busy for a quick turn around.
  7. No faith in me? 😄 Haha. Thanks! Well that Rotella stuff T4 is cheaper than OEM GN4 from Honda. Almost $15 and more quantity oil for the money. If I can use this stuff for my Break-In I'd be happy save at least a couple of bucks. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/rotella-t4-conventional-diesel-engine-oil-15w40-5-l-0287930p.html#srp Any issue in sticking with Conventional even after the fact or do I want to then switch to synthetic? Thanks for the tip. Super washing and cleaning will happen!
  8. LOL you first sentence confused me even more! But my cylinder is being bored and honed, being done today actually. Oversize OEM Honda piston and rings.
  9. I read the heading, I get excited. I’m a simple man 🙂 But no seriously. Is there any issues with using this oil for break in? https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/rotella-t4-conventional-diesel-engine-oil-15w40-5-l-0287930p.html#srp
  10. What’s the front crankcase cover torque specs? Manual shows no torque values for the 13 bolts.
  11. Today cam, chain and all else front portion is going back on. Hopefully I set the timing right lol
  12. Figured I ask as with the engine rebuild imagine id be doing one or two oil changes more frequent than usual
  13. Gents, anyone order the bulk oil filters from Amazon? Or stick to OEM Honda? AHL 113 Oil Filter for Honda TRX400EX 1999-2008/TRX400FW Foreman 4X4 395 1995-2003/TRX400X 400 2009 2012-2014 (Pack of 3) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01AU4EAHY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZW7GB5TN386CAJBVCW91
  14. Update.. haven't been able to get out to start assembling its been real cold the past few days. Hoping that maybe Sunday the front crank cover and components can be put back in place.
  15. As @Fish Warrior said my engine is torn down now due to other issues. But I did receive the shift motor he donated to me, which unfortunately arrived busted inside the metal housing just like mine. I just went ahead and ordered a Amazon badboy and it arrived yesterday. I took it apart, the bearings, and everything looks identical to the OEM Honda one. I sealed around the armature housing with gasket maker, greased the bearings and will fully seal this thing. We'll see how long it lasts.
  16. Lol am I missing something? I only have ATV which is broken currently haha
  17. Cool! So the next question is, can I have one? 🙂
  18. So this thing lets the rider set a set point at which the fan comes on? And works without the OEM FCU?
  19. Lol what’s the catch? Has a built in tracker and you monitor everyone’s movements? So this thing actually lets the rider set the set point at which to turn the fan on/off?
  20. What is the price of one of these gizmos?
  21. I’m surprised no one found a way to repair the OEM fan controller that tends to crap out on these without having to go this route? Or is there and I just don’t know about it?
  22. It wa a whirlwind of back and forth lol! I’m nervous but also excited to fire this thing up when it’s done to hear and feel the difference! Well new DID chain arrived today, compared it to my existing one. Same length so mine didnt really stretch. Tomorrow hoping to start assembling the front portion where chain, cam, clutches are to close the front cover back. Have a feeling that end cylinder head will take a while to arrive..
  23. @retro so when you say sealer what are you referring to? Gasket maker? Some sort of o-ring lubricant? The angle sensor, you put gasket maker on its face as you mate it back to the gear housing? Or you put sealer around the o ring that’s just inside the angle sensor?
  24. So cleaned the front crank case cover. Loosened and lubed up the clutch adjusting screw. Anything else while this stuff is apart I can clean, blow air through etc? I cleaned out the oil filter area, and blew air through where the oil cooler lines connects too. Cleaned up the two o-rings and will add some o-ring sealant to those as well prior to reinstallation everything. I've cleaned the gaskets on both the bottom end for the jug, the case gasket is removed both from engine side and cover side.
