I would look for a broken wire trace all wires looking for a break.

When I ohm out the 2 wires going to the coil, they both seem to be grounded> That can't be right can it.

One of the mechanics will hopefully be able to help better than I can hang in there.

@retro is the electrical guru, and @shadetree is the 350D guy

Hi: You have to unplug the BL/Y wire from the ign. coil -- unplug the CDI -- unplug the Fuel pump relay - unplug the fan control unit -- then check the BL/Y wire to ground.

It is getting worse. I was convinced it was the stator.

Took it out 1/2 day.

Using ohm meter tested it .

Each yellow wire reads 600 ohns.

So it is not the stator. What could it be?

Have you done above as yet?

The stator ohms should only be around 1 ohm from y to y not 600 -- may sure the 3 yellow wire plug is unplugged from the rectifier when testing for ohms.

Okay 12 vdc -- check the pulse gen. coil for 300 - 360 ohms next

Is your ATV a Fourtrax or Forman?

The ATV should start without the stator

Ok on 320 ohms

have you tried a new plug -- you can also remove the boot off the spark wire and cut a 1/4" off the wire, put boot back on and try it. Test coil
