  1. hopefully last upate on this blind ?. got new tires, new axle, new leaf springs, all this installed. got a few things from lowes today, picked up a mobile home ground anchor, 50ft of 1/4 cable, a turn buckle. gonna tie the bottom center of blind to the ground anchor with the turn buckle, i am not taking any chances of a strong wind blowing it over ?!. it does have 4 t-post drove in at an angle, but i do not trust this 100%, soo..i will tie it down with this 1/4 cable and ground anchor. gonna load my 450 on the trailer, along with my 10ft ex ladder, head out early in the morning, get down to deer camp, fix my blind. got to get more screws in the floor to base, carpet back down, chair back together, window seal fixed where the strap broke the edge off when going to the spot ( road was really bad )..get back home, unload 450, ladder, take trailer to cabin, get my cabin ready for this freeze we are getting in the next couple days. going to be a long day tuesday for me for sure !.

When I get time will buy a can of carb cleaner remove the carb and see what I can do. Really don't know much about working on carbs.

BEFORE you go spraying carb cleaner ( like gumout )..MAKE SURE YOU GET THE AIR/FUEL MIXTURE SCREW OUT, TINY WASHER ( DO NOT LOSE THIS WASHER ! )..AND THERE IS A TINY O-RING, DO NOT SPRAY CARB CLEANER INTO CARB UNTIL THESE PARTS ARE REMOVED !. otherwise you will ruin this tiny o-ring. so..count the turns in, its a slotted jet, watch one end of this slot, count how many turns it takes to seat ( lightly !! ), then remove it. you should have the jet, spring, tiny washer, tiny o-ring when its all removed. most times the tiny o-ring and washer stay down in the carb jet hole, MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL OF THESE PARTS BEFORE SPRAYING CARB CLEANER DOWN IN THIS AREA !.

Getting good gas.new cdi aftermarket.  I thought that it might be accdi so I made sure to order a dc aftermarket and it won't fire at all I have not officially tested the compression shade tree but it'll break your leg without the compression release.  Oh yes. Also. I have continuity between my plug wire and my frame.  That shouldn't be should it

compression sounds good to me. keep in mind, these models have a ele fuel pump, if the pump is weak ?, it also wont run good. my money is on the china c.d.i. you got. chances are, the seller you got it from '' claims '' this c.d.i. will work on all trx350's ?..no..they will not !.

There was one more thing about that cdi that I forgot. The four prong and two pro g plug are on opposite side on new one.  Could one of those wires being on the wrong pin cause that kinda symptom or would it just not run

tells me..you got a china c.d.i. they are junk. you are better off locating a used oem for that year/make/model.

I took a look at the model identifier and both just say FOURTRAX 350

The running one was manufactured 1/86 and the parts rig 10/85. 38 years ago this month 🙂

i know these models very well. i've never paid any attention the letter A after the models. i do know for a fact, 1986 was the first year produced this model in the 4x4 version, also..this was honda's very first 4wd model they ever made. 1986 trx350 was dubed the trx350 fourtrax, then in 1987 they came out with the trx350 fourtrax, then in 1988 they had the trx350 fourtrax and trx350D foreman. these ran all the way up until 1989 in u.s.a. then after 1989, canada started selling them as 1990-1993 , which if you were to go to a dealer in canada ( not sure if they still have them at all there ? ), told them you needed a part for a 1990-1993 trx350 fourtrax-foreman ?, they would not find any part for these years, as honda did not produce any model after 1989 in u.s.a, sooo..you had to tell them your 1993 ( does not exsist ) ( really 1989 ) need a such and such part ?, then they could find it..but !!..by now..this part is discontinued..lol.

  6. is this '' new '' c.d.i. aftermarket ( china ) ?, or oem ?, china c.d.i.'s are junk. is carb clean ?..has it been sitting for awhile ?. is fuel reaching carb from tank ?, is the vent knob on top of tank in the '' on '' position ?. have you tested the compression?, most 300's require a min of 100 p.s.i. to run decent.

  9. welcome to the forums. nice ride !. be warned: new oem parts most likely will be discontinued, its used all the way for most parts for that old girl. p.s. some parts from 1986 only fits that year model, and some parts from later year models up until 1989 will swap out. the front drums, brakes, pinion shafts will not be the same on later yr models.

I didn't mean to discourage him from trying.... Honestly, I'd be right there beside him if I could... we'd be bouncing ideas off each other if I had the chance. I'm certain that he'll win too, if he wants to!  Never, ever give up, even if it's seemingly impossible. Ya don't learn anything by walking away and it's not trashed until ya give up on it. Even if it's trashed it's probably still useful for parts, or for making something good happen in the future....

I'm just reminded of my bullheaded mistakes more often than my successes nowadays. For instance, my left thumb is so destroyed now that if I grip a beer in my left hand my thumb bends completely backwards and I scream in pain like a girl. I'm in pain for weeks sometimes with that permanently sprained thumb. It hurts right now in fact, I bumped it backwards last week while I was cleaning my chimney. I couldn't even shift my Rancher with my left hand by pushing the ES buttons after that little bump!

I'm just saying it can be smart to stop trying when it becomes dangerous. But I know he probably won't.... he didn't become an over-achiever by giving up on dollar parts.

when a 2k lb come along, and map gas to cherry red won't let a pto shaft let go ?, its time to toss in the towel, break down, buy a new one !..lol. in the time i wasted trying to get the sucker apart ?, i was able to drive to tractor supply, purchase a new one cheap, get back home, install it..call it a day. ( i did end up buying a whole new bush hog though ) the bottom line is: some times you just have to know when to quit..lol.

Love the Blue. I've seen the gray hood with the pocket on eBay and wondered what it would look like. What was this for the spotlight? I'm looking for a spotlight now or ANYTHING to plug into the power port.

if you have a spot light ?, all you need to do is wire it to one of the plugs ( male end )..then just plug it into the plug on the bars. YOU MUST HAVE BOTH PARTS OF THIS PLUG IN ORDER TO USE A SPOT LIGHT !.

Bush hogged my roads a few weeks ago, and right at the end of the day my PTO shaft pulled off of the bushhog when I tried to lower it back down after picking it up briefly.

Thing is seized up and will no longer telescope.  Probably twisted it when I hit something.

So far I've chained one end to a big tree, tried my Foreman winch (nothing), then my Jeep with 8274 winch (nothing), then tried hitting it apart with a 10lb sledge while the Jeep winch had tension on it (nothing).

So at this point I'm debating drilling a hole on the opposite end, adding a grease zerk, and seeing if I can use hydraulic pressure to get the male shaft out of the female shaft, or bringing the tractor into town and trying to use it to pull the shaft apart with the shaft chained to the tree again.

I've bent and trashed some PTO shafts over the years, but never had one like this that just seized up completely.

What do you farming types recommend?  @_Wilson_™

the hydraulic trick will not work, the center is hollow, wont work because of this.

  14. i ran across this very same thing with a old drive shaft catfish gave me..i used everything under the sun to pull it apart..it would not budge one inch !. heat..10 lb sledge hammer...winch..truck..com-along..everything..it was done !..lol. i said screw it...did what wilson said...just went to tractor supply, purchased a new one, they are cheap. save your hair, money, time..go buy a new one !.

What did you do to your trailer?

lol..i did not do anything to it...the guy pulling it to my spot is the one who damaged it !..lol. he pulled it through the back forty woods..going through 2 ft washouts, bent the axle, bent the left fender, broke the clearance light that was on the fender, bent the leaf springs. with a bent axle, when i pulled it home that night, little did i know the axle was bent ?..wore the tires out pulling it back home. sooo..yeah,,all this damage made a mess of my trailer. luckly al and the guy that pulled the trailer told me they would chip in to pay for the damage. i know al is good for it..not sure about the guy that did the damage when he pulled it from camp to my spot ?, it messed it up good..lol.

  17. kinda late to the party ?, but..better late than never !. when i remove swing arm bearings ?, i put the swing arm in my bench vise..from drive shaft side, i am able to hammer out the tin grease cup and bearing/bearing race. then for the far side, i flip the swing arm in my bench vise where i can come through the drive shaft's swing arm bearing opening, with a long drill bit, i drill a hole in the swing arm just left of the drive shaft opening, then i use a very long steel bar to reach all the way through the drilled hole..all the way over to the inside of the right rear swing arm bearing tin grease cap/bearing, bearing race..and hammer it out from the inside of the swing arm, works very well doing it this way.

Those pop out ground blinds work good. Keeps me out of the wind and light rain. I set a 20 lb propane bottle on top the platform on one by canal, have a Buddy heater hooked to bottle stays warm. The other blind I have a little buddy heater for it. I hunt the ladder stands when not windy and cold. Our deer herd is down from being overrun with bears and hogs. I only shoot bucks so it's tough hunting. Maybe I will get one this year.

i run a 20 lb propane bottle with my sun flower heater attached to it, it will run me out of there if i do not turn it off ?, or open a wndow ?..lol.
