Okay can you ask him for me then ? lol

what part are you looking for ?. i know most of the atv's in his bone yard do not have fan control units, or c.d.i.'s ?, the engines in the frames have not been torn into yet though. then there is the problem of locating a 1988 model, which you are after. i will pm you his cell, you can call him, ask him if he can help you, but i can tell you right now, i'll be the one pulling the part/parts..lol.

    Thanks everyone for the advice!

I found guy parting out a ‘01 TRX450ES for the front diff and prop shaft. I picked up a used final shaft from PowerSportsNation, it looks perfect! Next I’m going to source the timing chain, gasket maker, seal kit, crank bearings, etc. and make a plan for pulling and splitting the engine.

I’m excited to tackle this project. It’s pretty involved!

yamabond or hondabond from any honda dealership near by. d.i.d. cam chain i get from ebay. oil seals are best from honda, but you can get after market kits off ebay, but i use oem from honda if i can get them ?!. crank bearings, deff from honda if they are to be had ?. oem gaskets i get from honda, unless they are discontinued ?, then its a kit from ebay. alot depends if honda still sells oem ?, then i go from there. what ever you do ?..STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM ANYTHING THAT SAY'S  '' all balls '' !!!..they are worse than junk..lol.

2 of the 3 parts were pen and 2 parts are used off someone on eBay  but the stator was off Amazon and I didn’t realize they it was that particular sooo I guess I’m returning the stator and going to have to get that used somewhere too

power sports nation is a better deal than ebay. '' sometimes'' you can get good used parts from ebay !.as for anything ele from amazon ?..lol..i stay far away from amazon..heck..anything thats important on atvs..i stay away from amazon !. china junk period !.

Hey guys I need some help on my 88 Honda foreman I’ve gotten a new cdi box fan control unit and replaced the stator in it and I’ve still have no spark anyone have any ideas on what the issue is ?

how did you get new oem parts for your atv ?..all ele parts for these are discontinued today !. sooo..whatever part you got new, IS NOT OEM FROM HONDA !. if and when you get any ele parts, spec the c.d.i. or fan control , they HAVE TO BE FOR THAT YEAR/MAKE/MODEL !. do not go by what amazon or ebay is selling !..i know these atvs very well...and i also know you can not get new oem ele parts from honda, unless they came across some NOS  ( new old stock ) ?, you got taken for a ride..lol.

Were the OEM or aftermarket?   Are you sure they were for the right model?

The 350 Fourtrax/Foreman had three distinctly different electrical systems, and components will not work on the wrong model

    86-87 350A Fourtrax

    87 350D Foreman

    88-up 350D Foreman

unless they were used ?, no way he got a new oem from honda !. they are discontinued today.

So what you’re saying is, with 12” rims and the 24x10-12 size being common, there’s no real reason to hang on to the 11” rims?

just 12 inch rims. front and rear tires change, but the rim size does not. hold onto those 11 inch rims, ya never know !.

Well, other than feeling like a total idiot, not unhappy. I have never owned anything with a kill switch. It has a key, which was all I expected to be there.
However, after seeing the term 'kill switch' a couple of times, I took a better look at what I thought was just the headlight switch. DUH!
Hooked everything(literally) back up, turned it over a couple times to check for spark, and voila, there it was.
Put the tank back on and opened the shut-off valve and fired it right up....thank God!(and all you guys of course!)

It starts and runs, which is all I need it to do.
Apparently the guy I bought it from hit the kill switch when he drove it on my trailer, and until today I didn't even know it had one....!
NOW, feeling a little less frustrated, I have no issue buying a carb kit, as this one leaks like a sieve, and so did the aftermarket carb.
The rear brakes are toast, no chance of repair without replacing the rear drum, and good luck finding one of those still serviceable.
Front brakes may be repairable, but it will need everything replaced IF the front drums are salvageable(I haven't measured them yet), including a new master cylinder.
Also missing the core for the air filter, but I can worry about correcting that after I rebuild the carb.
Again, thanks guys! Glad I found this forum!

i could be wrong ? ( happens alot as you get older ! ) but.check on partzilla's website, look up your model for the rear brake drum , click on that part number from the list, another window will open, now look down on right hand side, there is a list, that brake drum also fits the ATC200ES , soo..when searching for a brake drum ?, you can also look for one for/from a atc200es model !.

Amazing what putting your glasses on and READING what a switch is for will do for ya.
I just thought it was for the headlights.

lol..no..its for drunks who are too lazy to reach for the key turn it off ?..( just a guess anyway ?..lol ).

And that WAS the problem all along.
I thought it was just the light switch until I put my glasses on and READ it this morning....lol
Of course I am now quite familiar with the entire ignition system, as I literally checked every component before it finally dawned on me that what you guys were referring to as a kill switch was NOT the key switch itself.

lol..don't feel bad bro !, you, me, and about 10 million other atv owners have ALL done this with the kill switch !..lol. glad you got it going !!.

  12. update: not going to sit here and type out a book on what took place this past sat ?, lets just say me and al got my stand to its new spot !. we did not get it up yet, as we still have 2 more stands to move off the sold land. this coming sat, he asked me to come back down, and help him. of course, i said '' i'll be there boss '' !. once we get the remaining stands moved, and a bridge moved he built in placed there, we ( or me ? ) will start working on getting my stand back up, shooting lanes cuts, feeder back up. hopefully we don't get rained out this coming sat ??!!.

The center thing is a neutral connector of sorts.  Has a copper contact on either end. It’s the “neutral contact connector”.

I had to tear this thing all the way down to replace the mainshaft gears on the transmission, so I had cases split.

yeah..i wasn't for sure if that center part was the neutral contactor ?, but yeah..you are correct. word from the wise: try not to stay away from a project ?, it does come back on bite ya on the backside !..lol. hopefully i gave you some insight ?. and remember..if you need engine parts for that old girl ?, you know i still have an engine out in catfishes bone yard free for the takin !.
