Did you look on the threads?
-
Are you reading the voltage on the Bl/W wire on black PCM connector when pushing the start button??
-
Is the notch on threads right hand side?
-
Look right on the start solenoid and see what 2 small wires are on the start coil solenoid
-
From what I see on the diagram its a Light green/ black & Y/R going to the Start solenoid

Hi Toodeep -- Feed them Geese so they will stay down there -- they are dam annoying messing everywhere in yards -- driveways -- parks -- beaches -- you name it they are everywhere.
-
Unplug the Starter solenoid --
Test Bl/W on the PCM black connector -- meter on DCV -- black test lead on the neg. of battery -- key on and try starting -- what the volt reading
-
When you put the kill switch either side it reads 12VDC or zero
-
Put the 10 fuse back in -- leave the relay out
Put meter on DCV black lead on neg. of battery
Red lead lead on Bl/W wire on PCM black connector -- key on -- start bike -- what is the volt reading?
-
Hi: Leave key off -- Unplug the black connector on the PCM
Pull out the 10 amp Ign. fuse
Remove the engine stop & fuel relay
Unplug the Bank Angle Sensor (3P green connector)
Kill switch in center
Place meter on the Ohm scale
Put black test lead on the neg. of battery
Put red test lead on the Bl/W wire on the black connector (PCM) -- What did it read?
Then put the red test lead on the Bl/G wire -- you can find it on the Kill switch or the Engine stop & Fuel relay socket -- What did it read?
-
3 minutes ago, Louis said:Did you mean black and white wire? If so, the ohms read 48.5. There isn't a bl/rd wire on that connector lol
Sorry about that --Yes Bl/W wire -- so you will have to find the problem with the Kill switch or the wire its self
I am out of here for the night -- post what you find
-
Okay that tells us that the kill switch is the bad or the Bl/W wire going from the kill switch to the black connector on the PCM is grounding its self to metal some where.
Key off -- put your meter on the Ohms scale -- black test lead on neg. of battery and place your red test lead on the BL/R wire on the Black connector that you removed from the PCM -- what is the Ohn reading?
-
Leave the Kill switch in the center and unplug the Black connector on the PCM and have the red lead on the ign. coil and try starting (this is just trying to find why the voltage is dropping to 10 volts)
-
So when the kill switch is in the center and you start the bike the voltage on the coil drops to 10 volts
-
you had the red test lead on the ign. when doing the test?
-
Did you trying starting the bike when the kill was off?
-
Okay move the kill switch to the right or left and do the same test again.
-
Leave the fuel pump unplugged -- test it again when turning over --- if it drops to 10.6 -- have to find why so
-
Put the Bl/R wire back on the ign. coil it should drop back 10.6 Volt as it did before -- Did it ?
-
That"s good --- now remove the Bl/R wire off the Ign. coil and place the Red meter lead into that push on connector -- what do you read?
-
Do this now -- place black meter lead on neg. of battery -- turn key on and with Red meter lead test for voltage on the little gray dots on top the main 30 amp fuse and Ign. 10 amp fuse
-
Did You have the fuel Pump unplugged?
