i gotta ask...how much cash do you want to spend if it needs fixing up ?, i know my bud has an '06 trx250 recon, it needs some new plastics, tires, engine does run, maybe even a seat . but he would let it go cheap for you if you wanted to make the drive to here. let me know, i'll can call him, and ask what he wants for it ? :-). also, if ya buy it, and want to spend the cash to replace parts on it, you buy the parts, i'll fix it here, then when you come back to pick it up, i'll have it looking like new for your grand kid :-).

if it's leaking around the rim bead, very well could be a dent in the rim ?. or rust build up ?, or just leaking through dry rot cracks in the tires sidewall ?.

i went to a local nut & bolt place near me, bought a large , fine thread bolt that screws into most all flywheel's. i don't have the measurements of the bolt right off hand ?, but i do know its fine thread/metric.

i know it works on stripped out allen head bolts.

i think your making a huge mistake with this flywheel puller !..those threads on that ball are standard, you need metric threads !.

yeah, the tang part that operates ( spins ) off the counter balancer sheared the tang all the way off when the rotor inside the pump seized up from mud !.

and now i know why the engine blew up !. here is what is left of the oil pump !. in case ya missed it ?, the tang on the rod snapped off in last pic !...lol. go ahead...keep going deep in mud !..lol.

for all you outlaws waiting on updated pics ?, i've been busy with other stuff around the house, and at catfish's place. i have the engine completely torn apart, now i just need to start cleaning cases/sections up, i got a little done the other day, but no where near what i should have done by now. its a slow process when your dealing with a sunk atv !. some parts show to be here today ?, but not what i need to put the engine back together. no word on crank work or cylinder ?, so i got time to get stuff cleaned up it seems. i'll post pics as i move along, but for right now, its just slow on this build.

i could care less how my hands/nails look in pics ?..if they aint greasy/dirty ?..THEN I CAN'T SHOW ANYONE I AM WORKING !..ROFL.

all USED atv's are money pits...question really is...just how much do you want to spend on it to make it right and new again ?..lol. my '03 trx450fm was trashed when i bought it, paid 300 bucks for it, got it from Fayetteville,ar. drove all the way there and back. i spent right at 5k into her, she's like a brand new '03 trx450fm to me, and i'll keep her ! :-).

i just ohm the stator out, if it measures more than 0.09 ?, it has an open circuit. keep in mind though, this does not rule out the reg/rec !. stators for the most part generate AC voltage, then goes to the reg/rec, which converts this AC voltage to DC voltage.

i think we are getting this thread off topic, so with that said, we'll end it here.

down here, you wont get more than 200 for it as it sits. if you part it out ?, sure..you will get that 400 easy. your talking to old guys here that KNOW more about these models than you could ever dream of..lol.
