  1. sooo..we went from dumpster diving..to dumpster driving now ?..lol.
  2. even with putting a bore scope in the cylinder, this will not show a stuck or bent valve, unless !!, you aim it up towards the valves ?, which i have no clue about this..as i have never done this. i'd start with pulling the head, try turning it over , see if it rotates all the way around. once the head is off, then you can see if a valve is stuck open. only time i have ran across a piston not going all the way over is when the piston was hitting something ?, or a broken gear teeth jammed on the crank gear ?. please keep us posted on what you find !.
  3. neutral switch is inside that cover, only hot when key is on.
  4. also, we need the year, make, model. i see you posted just a 200sx ^^ ?, but you posted this thread in the sport section, only model 200sx i know of is the utility version. if this is the case ?, this thread needs to be moved to the utility section instead of being in the sport section.

  7. as fish ^^^ said, pull the head, jug, then try turning it over. also..remove the spark plug, see if it will spin over CW then ?. with the spark plug in, they are kinda hard to spin over, but can be done with plug in. a bent/stuck valve could be hitting the piston on top dead center, keeping it from going all the way around.
  8. dump it, weld it back on...run it !, you will be fine, it will not be that much louder. the only reason they cram that junk inside there . its to slow down the sparks, thats about it. yes..it does make them quite, but not much to the human ear. i've done it, and its not that much difference !!. dump it, weld it back up, run it !.
  9. no...no it wont. i've welded the end back on mufflers in the past, its not that much louder than all stock.
  10. the carb on your atv only uses 12 volt dc for the carb heater, it's posb that this has blown a fuse ?, or blown the main fuse in the fuse box near the battery. check to see if any of the fuses has blown ?. unless you live in canada ?, there is no reason to even have the carb heater plugged in if you ask me. also, its posb you have a bad ignition switch ?.
  11. update: got a few parts added on her, wrapped it up for the night, i'm beat.
  12. just left autozone, spent over a 100 bucks on 2 wiper blades and 6 ft of fuel line. then went to my local honda dealership to pick up a honda battery, 104.xx otd, yep..prices are through the roof right now !!.
  13. update: well, got back from the deer woods yesterday, had a few large boxes in my living room !. got a large spike from the deer woods, need to get it down to hog's meat market, gonna let them process what i brought back, we ate the back strap sat night..mmm good !. anyway. i've got a project to fix at my cabin on the septic system, gotta install a vent line on the toilet pipe..grrrr..i did not install this line from the get-go, my dad had some drunk install the toilet many moons ago. had a 500 gal septic tank installed, but no vent line !. sooo..anyway, need to pull the toilet, and work my way back to the toilet. once i get that done, then soon, i'll get started back on putting the new RED ( sigh )..lol , plastics all back on this ole girl, install a new battery, she'll be done.i do still need to swing by autozone and pick up some fuel injection fuel line, the line i got on the tank to carb now is worthless, not correct, so i will be putting some good fuel line on the tank to carb before i start putting the plastics all on.
  14. yep..toodeep was correct..the change clutch bearing was not seated all the way down.

  16. make sure the diaphragm under the top is seated correctly ?.if its not ?, it wont have the correct vacuum .
  17. and like i said...if it will hit with starting fluid, but not fuel from tank ?, this tells me the fuel pump is not working to give enough fuel pressure. you say its firing plug..ok..this rules out spark. you say timing is ok..did you check it ?. 30 yrs of working on honda atvs, not much gets by me when it comes to not starting and running on its own. some of the trx420's came with defective fuel pumps from the factory.
  18. have you checked the timing ?, checked the compression ?. tried a new spark plug ?. if it will fire off on starting fluid ?, this tells me its not getting enough fuel ?, or the fuel pump does not have enough fuel pressure ?.

  21. ok, will have to wait until i get back in town some time later next week, going to the deer woods, we'll get the shipping info and cost lined out, you pay for the cover and shipping i have no idea what this will be for shipping ?, but i'll sell the cover for 20 bucks . ( the old faded cover ), sound good ?. do not post the info in this thread, we'll handle it in pm.
  22. update: got a call from rocky mountain atv this morning, they said all the red fender parts, body parts have came in, paid for them, was told some will be here friday, and the rest will be here monday, i wont be here, will be in the deer woods.
