that is how i cut them open..but i did not go through the long process of what this guy did, i just dumped the bad crap out, rewelded the end back on. i cut at the very end...on the inside of the weld just like he did with the cut-off wheel.

i wonder if they still get tail gatter's ?..rofl.

i've got most of the parts you need, most of the air box, by this, i mean the box, the lid. it does not have the breather tube parts to it, just the box and lid. the air filter bracket i also do not have, you can buy this, or just make one, very easy to do. # 2-air filter element has been discontinued from honda, ebay or powersports nation will be your best bet. as for the carb, i've got a 450 carb ( will work on a trx400 ) that i was planning on keeping for a spare ?, i think its missing the slide and top cover plate ?, but i'm sure i could locate those to make it complete. if the price is right for all this ?, i may sell them to ya. i currently own a 450, as well as my gals 450 project, the carb is not cheap new oem ( i'm sure you know this..right ? ). sooo..shoot me a pm with a price..and if i like yer offer ?, i'll sell them to ya .

just cleaned the old shocks up, re-used them, after i painted them of course..lol.

if for some odd reason ( i'd expect it this way ) if you can not fix the threads on the crank ?, you are looking at a engine tear down, replacing the crank that has better threads on the end.

update: just got the front grill delivered just now. if only i had a FRONT FENDER TO ATTACH IT TOO ??!!..LOL.

like goober said ^^, camo did not come out until the later yrs. its only beige color under it, the trx400fm foremans were some of the beige colors back then that had this color. in the later yrs, honda started making the camo fenders, all they are is beige fenders with camo sticky stuff on them, this is why they peel so easy.

camo does not last long, after a few washes, it comes off, least the early camo did this.

thanks for the info, but last i checked, nothing in yellow is in stock as of a few hrs ago. its not looking good at all to get all yellow plastics from here on out. i made ( she made ) the choice to just go red. i did find that ^^ very same fender on ebay, i'm not paying over oem price, he can keep it.
