i found out the hard way..lol. got a kit in awhile back, sure enough, there was a sticker on the bag of parts, '' made in china '' !!..i called them up, spoke to a guy on the phone, asked him..i thought this kit is made in usa ??, he replied, '' most of it is..but some parts are made from global materials '' i replied..THEN YOU ARE COMMITING FRUAD ' !!. he got real quit after i said that for a few sec's..said..'' i can't answer that for you sir ''..well no kidding !!. they used to all be made in usa many yrs ago..but like everyone else..they are outsourced these days.

harbor freight is a throw away tool place..use it one time ( if yer lucky ? ), toss it..cuz its worthless after that. i've always been a craftsman tool guy..but we all know where they went too !. good thing i've still got craftsman tools from 25 yrs ago !.

update: engine is in frame, done for the night.

70 psi is low, and yes..deff inspect the timing.

update: got my gasket kit in today, finished putting the engine back together. not sure if i'll stab it back in frame tonight or not ?, but here it is all shinny !.

what i wanna know is..how the heck is this guy doing 80 in the slow lane, and not get behind someone slower in front of him ?. i've drove i-40 many times in my life...and not once could i do 80 in the slow lane, and not get backed up cuz some dummy was doing 55 in the slow lane !..lol.

update: just got back from my local honda dealer, they had the oil seal in stock, grabbed it, just got back home, and looked to see if the complete engine gasket kit is out for delivery ?, yep. will be putting the engine back together '' some time '' today/tonight ?..lol.

if its friskers ?, they have a life time warranty.

top left corner of carb table, that is not a 300 carb, i see a air cut-off on it. and another on bottom of that row.

update: worked on installing my oil seals earlier today, got down to the reverse shift lever rod seal, and low an behold, it went in crooked, and ruined it ( gotta love yellow huh ? ) i'll call my local honda dealer friday morning, ask if they have one in stock ?, if they do..i'll go get it, install it. not gonna order another one from rmatv, and wait another week..lol.

using flux core i see ?, you better practice more.., that bead wont hold.

np :-). the correct title for your atv is honda trx450fe, we know its an electric shift, that is what the e stands for. the f at the end stands for four wheel drive, hinse trx450fe !. in the later years, honda calls them fe, te, fm, tm. fe=four wheel drive, electric shift, te= two wheel drive, electric shift, tm= two wheel drive, manual shift. fm= four wheel drive, manual shift.

oh man, no you would not !..i've lit into him more than once about going cheap on parts ?!. lets just say..i know when to do good work ?, and i know when to let it ride for cheap folks ?..lol. sad part about it, is he's asking way to much for the way it looks ?..oh well..i tried to tell him..'' you want high dollar '' ?..then you fork out the cash for the correct parts !. '' you have to spend money in order to make money '' and thats the rest of the story..lol.

that is the very same stuff i use, works well.

trx450fe is an es model. fe stands for fourwheel drive, electric shift, which in your case, is an es model.

i did not do a build thread on it because he had me a tad mad because he would not replace the parts that needed it, so i said screw it, i'll do the engine, fix what has to be fixed the best and fastest way i can ?, and let-r-rip. no i did not bend the rear rack bar up, like i said, its his, no money, i did not care at that point. if it was mine to sell ?, then yes...i would have done it right.

umm..yes, '02 trx350fm i rebuilt for catfish, its for sale, but his asking price is too high..and he did not want to buy new oem parts for it, so i just put it back together as best i could. I DID REBUILD THE ENGINE !.
