BUT..IT HAS TO BE YELLOW...LOL. this is not mine to ride...it will be my gal's ride..her fav color is...yep..you got it...YELLOW !..ROFL. he wants 1k for the green trx450fm, that's missing flairs, and needs a 400 dollar ring and pinion gear set, and prob an axle too ?, yeah..i'll pass..lol. oh...and this mellow yellow will also run...WHEN I'M DONE WITH IT !..LOL.
  2. could be a bad crank ?!. cam chain needs to be replaced, but you can check this b4 you buy one, i only use D.I.D. cam chains, i buy them from ebay, if it does not show a yellow and black box ?, ITS NOT A REAL D.I.D. CAM CHAIN !. as for those cv joint axles ?, once again..NO ONE MAKES THEM...THAT ARE THE CORRECT FIT ?..a lot of sellers '' claim '' they fit ?, but i've been down this road many yrs ago..bought some from ebay, seller '' claimed '' they would fit ?..well, low and behold, THEY DID NOT CLEAR THE INSIDE OF EACH KNUCKLE SIDE !!!. and i tried to explain to the seller this, pics and all, then i got my money back, and they never took the ad down !!. last time..NO ONE MAKES THEM, THAT WILL FIT CORRECTLY!..
  3. gonna do some swapping, i found out the case halves oil drain bolt hole is buggered from what i can tell when i removed the oil drain bolt. good thing i know where some engine parts are !..lol.

  5. among what has already been said ^^, sitting for 5 yrs tells me to expect the change clutch friction disk to be stuck together, not saying they are ?, but odd's are...they will be stuck or a few stuck anyway.
  6. you are correct, high lifter outlaws, 25x9.50x12 , both front and back.
  7. most fan control units are located in the front, right under the fender, directly under the handle bars, they are in a rubber boot, connected to the frame in the center, they have tricky tabs that you have to press in order to get them apart, and off the frame.
  8. a good list !, but unless you rebuild engines ?, you got most parts on hand. i would keep any gaskets, engine parts, bearings if you have them ?, brake shoes, brake pads ( disk brakes ) if ya have them ?. never..EVER..get rid of honda parts !..lol.
  9. update: ok outaws, here she is unloaded from my truck. made a short list of parts that it must have for now. it was late when i got home last night, decided to just stay home, then make my ride to cabin, which will be here shortly. anyway, here is a few pics as she sits for now. i will update this thread as i get too work on her. p.s. the tires and rims are up for grabs is anyone is needing them ?, i will put stock rims, itp mudlite AT's back on her. must pick up, i will not ship them.

Well, if my plan goes through today ?, i will be bringing home a 2002 trx450fm ( s ) to those of you that call it that ?, myself..i call it trx450fm. worked on it last night through some texting, we agreed on a price, now i just have to make a 5 hr , one-way drive to go get it..lol. i talked him down from his asking price ( 800 ) to 650, and of all colors..its one of the very one colors i hate the most..YELLOW !..LOL. but..its not for me, it will be my gf's ride..her fav color is ..aghhh..yellow !..rofl. he claims it runs, new cylinder, new battery, new rear axle, has a snorkle on it..now i wonder why it would need a top end ?..hmmm..let me take a wild guess..IT'S BEEN SUNK MAYBE ?!..LOL. has what looks like big mud tires on it ?, this would explain the new rear axle huh ?. anyway..i'll be headed there some time this morning, gonna leave here after the bank opens up, 5 hr drive there...5 hr drive back, then i've got to get to my cabin, another hr drive there, gonna stay there for the night. i will update this thread if and when i get this atv...and have time to post some pics, at least the before pics...cuz ya'll know it will not stay like it is when i am done with it !..lol.

  17. well..all i got ( and my very first at that ! ) is my little ole kubota b2100, had to rebuild the transmission..but worth every dime.
  18. any time you clear cache ?, it wipes out passwords and such, pretty much your browsing history, in other words, you have to sign back in with a password every time you go back to a website, such as this site, least thats how i understand it.
  19. you missed it, he did say no reverse light as well as no neutral light.
  20. if the 4wd light flashes ?, then this has something to do with the front drive system, it has nothing to do with the main atv part. only time you get a trouble code from a fm is this light..you are correct...but i know for a fact it tells you something is wrong with the front drive, speed sensor is the most common issue. and yes, your year model does have a meter..but it will not flash trouble codes, it only shows speed, miles , hours. the 4wd light will flash though.
  21. my only question is..sense when does the trx450fm have a code to read ?, only the trx450es have a meter, which means they are electric shift, which means, they have trouble codes you can read from the flashing meter.
  22. buy from rocky mountain atv, partzilla's prices are too high. as for how hard the boots are to change ?..haha..well..depends..if this is yer first time >, yer scale is a 10 !..lol. no..really...its not that hard,,but ya better have plenty of rags/towels handy ?!..it gets very messy, BE SURE TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH WAY THE INNER CAGES FACE IN THE CUPS ?..DO NOT PUT THEM IN BACKWARDS !!..AND MAKE SURE YOU PUT PLENTY OF GREASE IN THE BEARING RACE AND RUBBER BOOTS. for the outside boots ?, you must take the inner cv joint apart , off the shaft, in order to replace the outer boots. i take a small flat head screw driver, hammer it in under the clip bands to open them, then carefully spread the band apart, once this is done, under the large spot on the rubber boot, inside the cup, is a spring clip, its in a groove, will be hard to see, because its covered in grease. pry it out, then pull the cage out of the cup. end of cage is a c-clip, you will need a pair of snap ring pliers to get the c-clip off, then pull the cage off the shaft, now you can work the cv joint boot off the shaft. once this is off, do the same on the outer bands then just slide the outer boot all the way off the shaft, reverse when putting new boots back on.
  23. haha...yeah..i buy pretty much all my honda parts from rocky mountain atv now, partzilla's prices are higher..and they take forever to ship, AND..their free shipping doesn't start until you purchase 149 bucks worth of parts ?, where rocky mountain atv only has a 75 dollar limit to get free shipping. last but not least, you earn bonus bucks when buying from rocky mountain atv to use on next purchase.
