  1. What a neat little rig! Never seen that before... Why didn't this kind of thing power take off? I'm leaving...
  2. Ever tried out a lifting strap before? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Shoulder-Dolly-ShoulderDolly-12-ft-L-x-5-in-W-Moving-Straps-for-items-up-to-800-Lb-LD1000/204726780 My wife and I basically moved our entire household just the two of us with these. Multiple dressers and other heavy stuff. I know it can lift a lot but this may be over its capability. They are great though.
  3. Hey @Fishfiles Got my pokin' stick out over on the Spyder forums... 😅
  4. Definitely going to pull the heads now and see how much I can clean up. May never go back together... Cams are in amazing shape. Seen a lot of worn out engines and this is not one... Still might be destroyed in some way but there are salvageable parts none the less. I go back to happy to see it not hit the crusher either way. This thing is kinda fun to work on. Take apart anyway... Most everything is 10mm and it does have some of what seems to be logical decisions in design from a smooth-brain like me. Impact tools feel like cheating. I used to struggle for days with things that just zip right off with an impact. Bagged and tagged one head and took a shot or two before I put her to bed for the night. The parts are sitting on my wife's 91 300FW and the gauge was put on later in its life but has ~6500 miles on the clock. Original everything. Stock tire size, stock filters and good oil for its whole life. Still starts like brand new. Only thing that doesn't work fully is the rear brake. Thank you for reading!
  5. Of course you would say that lol The flea market bike is the same head and likely the exact same kit. That one will eat yours lunch with the fatty pipe... HUGE difference Good thing you didn't buy it. I think it has no air filter... Get a dual stage Uni can for it instead of that crap K&N knockoff. They are cheap. I would never run the one that it came with... My petcock leaked out the front not from the threads. The internal seal was pinched or flattened out of the box. Yours might not be like that just attesting to China's QC. I would teflon tape and run it first... Your old girl does look upset about her space being invaded 🤣
  6. No. Not quite there with it yet lol. Still a lot of meat on these bones but will need more TLC than I would have hoped. Here are some pictures of under the rocker cover. Not everything is doom and gloom. There is some surface rust on one of the cam lobes but no noticeable pitting and the timing chain appears to be in good condition. There may still be enough here to bring back to life but after researching how much parts are for these bikes I think ill be OK either way. Tin foil hat time... BRP might be buying up parts themselves as part of their business model. There is almost no availability in the used market even though there are a lot of bikes getting older.
  7. Well... as optimistic as I was/am about the future of this project I have found some really bad problems... As ready as I was for this kind of thing I would be lying if I said it wasn't a huge let down to find it in this shape. Everything the PO said carries the weight of a feather in a windstorm with me from here forward... that is for sure. Thank you for looking!
  8. Ohh that came out really nice! See the little bit of ash that feel out in the last picture? That is why I mentioned the stove board. It's near impossible to avoid I know it doesn't matter for your situation and agree personally but there is an example already 😂 Thank you for sharing!
  9. You're right he already clarified he was using GN4. I had also posted... To elaborate... I love GN4 and run it any customer machines. My personal oil of choice nowadays is T6. Only thing I can get easily that is cheap and wet clutch. Maybe I do waste some oil by changing too often but I am happy with my dollars per mile right now and don't see a reason to change it.
  10. Little different on the foreman but thought you might find these pictures interesting. Oil is 100% not your problem. GN4 may not be the best but it is dead reliable. I don't know what is causing your problem but I'm not inclined to think it is the tires. Uneven wear for some reason though... Jeep is likely barking up the right tree on the weights. My understanding is that is your wear surface. Also the steel discs in the clutch are likely fine. Make sure to clean well and measure before ordering new. The potential performance increase (for me) is not worth changing spring tension. I would replace all springs with new OEM.
  11. Ok I'm not crazy. I was thinking the same thing. I have had to replace clutches in a 300 once and that was because the PO adjusted them incorrectly and never changed the oil. Arguably could have reused those same plates after taking it all apart cleaning and putting back together... something is up here. I have a 300 Honda with (no way to know for sure) but for sure 5k+ miles on the original clutches... I probably rode that thing 5000 miles myself and we got it used from a logger lol The clutches I pulled from this foreman were still working at 8K miles but were outside of service life... something is up. What performance benefits are you getting from non-oem springs? I would pull a shade and blame any aftermarket stuff for not getting +5k miles out of a set of clutches. I understand it is different uses but some motorcycles go +50k without ever needing new discs. Love aftermarket stuff in the right context but if it cuts the reliability it is not for me. You are running into that kind of a deal here I think. What oil are you running? This just screams not wet clutch approved to me right now...
  12. Been drinking some coffee and mulling this over and I still can't quite tell if you are trolling us 🤣 That looks... well... it looks! Wonder how it would work really... Chain tensioner is awesome. That looks way more stout that most that you can buy. Also the dual pull handle looks awesome! Great solution for someone with limited mobility in one hand too. Definitely agree you are "pushing the rock up the hill" with this frame at all. I can tell that is nothing new though lol Cosmetically been thinking if you can avoid cutting or grinding the head at all that would be best and it appears that you have mitigated for the tilt in other places.
  13. Well for the moment I am going to see how trying to get it running goes. If that fails I will go back down the eBay road. $10
  14. Yeah maybe on the heat but what I would think would happen first is the grout gets stained from ashes. Maybe firewood gets sat down on the floor while loading the stove and it scratches (or worse case breaks) the tile. The feet are definitely a concern for damaging the tile but you could use small pads if that's all you were worried about. Depends on your setup... food for thought.
  15. Looking great! Stove board might be something to consider if you like the tile too. 🤣 Don't know what to recommend brand wise but something like below "Corner stove board"
  16. Oldie but a goodie! Possibly one of the best videos of all time from a dog owner perspective. The size of the pair on this guy... Best part is the look on the Kangaroo after the incident 😅 Watch this one if you haven't! ~2 minutes
  17. Shout out to @jeepwm69 for saving me today. I was trying to pull the centrifugal clutch with a three jaw and it just kept slipping off. Went and read some posts and found one on the old forums describing how you can use big hose clamps to hold it together. Going to go ahead and order the tool but got it off thanks to you!
  18. Hongda Great minds! Bought these before and they are great! https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-HONDA-WING-Logo-Vinyl-Decals-MOTORCYCLE-RACING-CAR-STICKER-RIGHT-LEFT-SET/332538225632

    Firearms

Airsoft. For training they can't be beat... Done a few home invasion (indoor) scenario type drills and having a training tool goes a LONG way. Definitely true that it makes you better to go through the motions. This model is an AR that shoots airsoft pellets. It is metal, has weight in all the right places and feels like the real thing. For cheap training... can't be beat. It isn't the real thing but if you think the skill doesn't carry over watch this video. The young man in the video is a better shooter than all of us without ever touching a real gun. Video is worth a watch if you like firearms.
  20. Head is a blessing. Do whatever you can to make it work. That will extend the life of the bike a ton. The little head's fins are lined up incorrectly in the picture as he just had it dropped on for a second to take the shot. They do go North | South Can you cut the carb tubes and use a flexible hose in the middle and clamps? I know that's kinda jank but it would work. Would allow you to bend the carb out of the way a bit to tweak the installation location too. No welding...
  21. Nice detective work on that one! Looking back knowing and it still looks like a hole 😂
  22. Looks amazing and I think you made a great choice going with polish. You can keep that look forever now

    Weather

Try putting the soap water and permethrin mix in a pump sprayer and dousing their homes. The places in your barn where they make nests will not be attractive to them for the entire season if it is out of the direct weather. Even if not direct spray on the wasp the soap helps liquid spread and cover fully. Permethrin in the most concentrated form is the cheapest. If you are buying the 10% it is expensive but go to farm store and get the concentrate. One big ~$30 bottle has lasted me for a few years and I have also given some of it away. We live in the woods basically and used to have TERRIBLE issues with them on the porches and in the sheds. I have no wasp problem today. Edit: The stuff you get should not be clear or it isn't strong enough IME
  24. Jeep coming through with the old school solutions lol I almost said this but was scared of being tarred and feathered for suggesting bacon grease 😂 Stove black (stove polish) would be my first choice and bacon grease right behind it. I would never paint a cast iron stove personally
  25. Yes. I have their address and phone number if needed. That may be the easiest route.
