  1. I am lol, and I I don't think there is a spare o ring for the enrichment valve. I thought I saw one but it was the gasket lol. I think it'll be fine, but would a diaphram that was ran on normal gas from the factory then had Ethanol fuel used for 20 years be fine, it works good, just wondering if replacement is needed since I'll be switching fuels for Sunoco Optima.
  2. Was really confused looking at them. Thanks man. I might rebuild the carb and when I install it take my key with me since I'll be getting my tank coated.
  3. I have my kit and looking it over, everything is here, but one thing I'm stumped on. Is there a way without a jet cleaner to tell the size difference between the starter jet and main jet? They look identical, even through 300 power glasses. I don't wanna get confused this weekend. But I'll update ya guys. Thanks F250
  4. Thanks man I found the OTC 5606 kit on Amazon for 70.00 I think.
  5. Unrelated, but I would clean the carb and put Non Ethanol fuel in, the Ethanol causes bad stuff to happen, corrosion sticking floats ext ect. Sonoco has Optima fuel Wich is what I'll be using after the carb rebuild next week. I'll have a much better storage life and performance. Personally I wish they'd put more Non Ethanol stations in Nationwide, so folks have a choice. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/cms/life-out-here/tool-shop/tool-tips/ethanol-and-its-effects-on-outdoor-power-equipment https://www.sunocoracefuels.com/fuel/optima
  6. OTC makes a great compression tester kit. This is the link to it, but I'd get your timing straight first if you haven't done so. Hate to do a compression test and drop a valve. https://www.amazon.com/OTC-5606-Compression-Tester-Kit/dp/B000R5CPAQ
  7. Like I pm'd you never give up and watch Stacey David gearz, lots of info and knowledge, YouTube it. I'll have my carb kit tomorrow, it just made it to the Charleston facility at midnight, once I get that strip it all down Sunday, and take the tank next week to be Red Koted. Another channel you'll love is Taryl Fixes All on YouTube, lawn mower Genius. And funnier than crap.
  8. No not mad at all, actually entertained, more folks talking better off. I can't hardly get folks to understand my point sometimes cause I'm a tad backwards things don't get read how I want em to by the other person, and that was my bad I should've said use that to see what you have then start over from scratch. Oops lol brainfar.
  9. Nope I never had any 73-79, they are called dent side trucks, why??? Well cause look at em 😂 they look like one big dent all the way down the truck. Plus styling is way off, and no metal dash. And only things that can and fairly regularly kill the FE engines is oiling issues and chronic valve train issues ie lifters and pushrods, but mostly from sitting the valves seize or stick in the guide. That's why I'm swopping to a windsor engine. When I get it I'll definitely keep you guys updated if you wanna see. Ya know I'm gonna not 28 years old but can remember mechanical things and how they work from the 50s but I can't hardly remember breakfast. But hey it's not a problem, it's a project. And having wise old mechanics never hurt. That video is my era my expertise if ya wanna call it. Give me this and non Ethanol fuel over a new one anyday Fish: fordificaton.net I think bumpside nation i think and blue oval trucks I think for sites, I can't remember all of em. Most have Facebook links. A cool truck. Much better looking.
  10. There should be a size stamping or etched on the Piston, but since you have your head apart, you maybe able to use bore size to roughly tell. A good machine shop can help you out. But I'd find out what a stock size is for it and try to go from there. Good luck bud.
  11. Welcome to the new site. You'll find lots of help
  12. Lol, man the only thing about the bumpside Ford's that can be killed is the very vealerable FE engines. Soon as I get the truck I'm doing a full mechanical restoration/upgrade and pulling the 390 for a 408W stroker from m Proformance Unlimited. Back that with a 5 speed, locker in the rear and HD front axle. You won't kill it
  13. That helps out slot, thanks a bunch man. And will do on the adjustment still waiting on my Shindy kit, shipped the 11th. Arriving on the 16th one day before my 29th birthday or on the 22nd.
  14. Only thing I'd be concerned with is Sparks from fumes unless fish is saying vent it and dry it well before you do that.
  15. I gotta rent out a bore scope and look at it after draining this weekend, but I'll probably line it anyway cause over the years with the Ethanol in today's fuels since 2007. Corrosion ugh.
  16. I'll look at the tank again it's not that bad, I wanna do proactive maintenance. Thanks man. But I found a partial list of stuff it's resistant to. A partial list of additives that Red-Kote is resistant to includes ethyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, toluene, methyl tertiary butyl ether, isopropyl alcohol and tetraethyl lead. i wanna get it coated because mine mostly sits, I will contact Sunoco to see if optima will be affected by Red Kote and vise versa. But I'll consider holding off.
  17. I thought RPM had to be spot on sorry brain fart there.
  18. That's ok no hurry tonight, I gotta Red Kote my tank on my 300 anyway.
  19. I'm gonna drain my tank and take it to be sealed up, I'd like to know form you guys is has anybody found out what the liner is, cause I'm going to put Red Kote in to seal my tank. I try to drain fuel if it's not being used, but life got in the way for 6 months no matter what I did I couldn't find time to stabilize my current fuel 87 octane speedway gas. My question is will the liner interfear with Red Kote?
  20. I'll just leave it in there and find a tach. 😁
  21. I was gonna measure anyway lol, mine is slightly warped from the PO pulling when he adjusted it. Thanks man
  22. Could ya give a number so I'll have something to go on, I thought about Innova brand but chinsy reviews and im looking at OTC this is the link, I don't have industry connections, so I'm asking for folks that do or have had them, what do you recommend and use. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/otc-5606?seid=srese1&gclid=CjwKCAiApOvwBRBUEiwAcZGdGHvwlmecLMxjpDA4q0RwRyHmo_-NbSf3ajRl-5Srv9b0knLzU-qSaBoCug4QAvD_BwE I don't have a leakdown tester so even with the cam decompressor, I should be fine, I doubt Honda posted leakdown specs anyway lol.
  23. I am, the thing I'm not seeing and reviewing the manual photos n steps (thanks retro and goober) is the screw for the idle speed knob, my new kit will have a new one, my question is how many threads is it screwed in or will I just have to take a photo with my phone and zoom in?
  24. I'm writing this to politely inform all the new folks that may be thinking of trying the E3 spark plugs, don't unless you have a lawn mower. Their not worth the money you'd spend to install them, I tried one years back and my idle was wonky, along with not much giddy up, their a heat range colder, if your expecting install n go no not on a carb bike. Please stick to what the manufacturer put in, they spend millions on R&D they know, if you want to upgrade from copper plugs go iridium IX. You'll be much happier with iridium, if I had to guess probably 8 years ago I put the DPR8EIX9 in and I couldn't be happier. Still looks like new. You'll save big in the long run, satisfaction in knowing your machine is happy.
