  1. some don't have the ability to.... which has become a big problem in this world.
  2. nope, not in some cases where there is not enough room between. the ceiling and upper floor spaces and this is a very old house, part log, besides the system is working fine. two story a hair under 5 thousand sq feet... floor vents were the only option for a central heat and air system down stairs.
  3. you had a new clutch disk installed but went with old pressure plate ? and i take it your friend turns the flywheel face and pressure plate face ? it still could be just a slight adjustment needed.
  4. i need to see pics of the area where the peddle rod hooks to the clutch arm... but if you have free play at the peddle, there could be a peddle stop also, both the clutch adjustment and peddle stop will need adjusting.
  5. i get a chuckle from this, but at least you have a friend who's willing to bring in a monster to pull you out, but it's abit of a job to put those duals on, if there the heavy type hubs, it's been years sence I've messed with one.

it's just going to be one of times when nothing works right, huh ? hope y'all moved the tractor out far enough there's no chance of being shocked it sank again when you go back, heck the rain might help wash some of the muck off, but you must be like me, or me like about leaving equipment out in the weather.

jeep looks like y'all have that much needed rain, hopefully this front will end that dry spell that been hanging around y'all.
  8. chances are if that 8430 had had good deep cleats and was dueled out would have been safe to pull close enough, with duels ... she would snatched out that 2640, and not even spun or grunted, yeah just never can tell how fast one will sink.
  9. i thought maybe that muffler might get packed with mud, man sounds like y'all had a heck of a time, 8430 ? articulating Johndeere.... ouch yeah that would have been a mess getting that bad boy stuck... I'm glad y'all got it out.
  10. wow! I'm not saying a word..... lol! but this, brother, i have been there..... sigh, on a good note.... least y'all have a forcast of rain, i can't tell how far you are in and how close any good size trees are, but, you might be able to use the rear extended axles to pull yourself out..... if your in that far, and can take the cutter loose, and drag it out of the way the better.
  11. jeep, how are you coming along on that 250 ?
  12. sounds like you hit both the center and outer race installing it, if the inner race is tight on rotating. I'd say yes the bearing is damaged.
  13. yes, sounds like you smoked the clutch, if you can post me some pics of the left hand side just ahead of the foot rest, and is there any free play (up or down) when the clutch peddle is released (fully up) some of these do have clutch adjustments, but i wouldn't use it again till i get the clutch adjusted, if it has anymore adjustment left ??
  14. with all the options now, ordering movies on tv etc etc .... even shadybrook cinema is shortly going down, but i recall those old clunky speeker boxes many of them had been torn off, and even some of the mounting post had been knocked loose, why they let that ol sundown go down hill so fast, I'll never know, those days were indeed magic times.... it was why the jumbo house (right down the road) also became so popular, one of the few times i went to drive in we stopped at the JH and i had my first burger....now i go there to eat as often as i can. they have the best burgers in columbia
  15. well.... it's going to blow out from that point, but to be sure it's pressurized .... do a cold start, and check the upper and lower hoses for tension ...while it warms up they should get tighter over time, and take the cap off (while it's cold) and see if any coolant is moving... I've been thinking about this, and that tractor shouldn't be getting hot with the cutter you have on it.... also check the engine drain petcock... if it's plugged i have an idea the cooling system needs a fush, and becareful with the petcock on the radiator... if these get pluged up, it can effect the engine oil cooler.
  16. do the upper and lower hoses get tight / pressurized ? when its hot ? the key to this engine staying cool, is coolant system pressure...and a clean radiator snug drive belt and correct thermostat ... im drawing a blank, but this model might require a thermostat with a jiggle valve, I'll have to check, but if you look back at the pic of the radiator it's small with the hydro cooler mounted on the right hand side.
  17. we had one many many years ago called the sundown i only went a few times with my folks.... maybe five times at the most, then the Polk theater opened up... and the ol drive in went belly up, but it had been there for many years, and not kept in good condition, sad to see it gone, now the closest we have is in Marshall county the highway 50 drive in, I've been there a number of times... and yes it's a flat pay... and they did away with the old window mount speaker, and transmitted the audio on 87.5 mhz i believe....
  18. glad to hear she's better, do you have the cooling system sealed ? that also will hold the engine temp down... the cap on those are pickey about staying sealed up good, most times it's the rubber seals that give up the ghost.
  19. I've never heard of one those, atc, nice add!!
  20. ah ha..... now this is a man with a plan, just needs a honda atv, and be outside the city limits!

we (my friends and i plus family) have I've convinced this might get much worse.... so we will have each others backs, like family and friends are suppose to be, we've always been this way, but times sure have changed..... it's actually disturbing to have some of the conversations I've had with people worried about the way things are going, but will not be walked over by those who have not planned for the future.
  22. jeep i haven't asked you has the 2640 hydraulics improved or have you started taking the cooling system down for a cleaning and refresh , or your just plain too busy at the moment.
  23. matches or a lighter, and Charcoal fluid, handy talkies and a lady friend, it doesn't have to be completely be about riding the honda (wink wink) and spare fuel / go go juice.
  24. @F250 guy how did you come out on the bearing install ?
