Some of the guys who have been around for awhile will remember the discussions we had when this board was started, in regards to politics/religion. At the time some members though it was a bad idea, but some thought it should be allowed as "free speech" Those arguing to allow such ultimately won out, so we've had free reign to do so for quite awhile now. As some predicted, it ultimately has caused problems. We've had some long time members who contributed greatly who left the board, and we've had some infighting amongst those who have remain. In short, it is proving to be eating away at the board, a little at a time. We started this board after vertical scope ruined the old board. We have a group of guys here who like to work on ATV's, and who like to help others work on ATV's. I see them as puzzles to be solved, and I enjoy working through the problems, and I also could not have done MOST of the projects I've fixed without help from the guys on this board. THAT is why this board is here. Discussing politics and religion, and having memes posted everywhere has detracted from the primary reason for this forum's existence. If this board is going to continue to survive, things have to change. We can't be fighting amongst ourselves. That said, I like a meme or two, and sometimes I'm in the mood to argue politics and/or religion. There's a great place for that here. It's free. https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/General-Discussion/5/ Huge forum, much bigger than this one likely will ever be, but it's somewhere I frequent that allows the shenanigans. They can afford to have members at odds with each other. Here, we can't. We're too small, too closely knit, and it's tearing this place apart. I ask for your understanding, that we all can tell @shadetree that he was right when he says "I TOLD YOU SO!" and that we can go back to fixing ATV's here.

You'll need to perform this ES prep completely. You might have a seized or crooked reduction gear support bearing.... You'll need to shine up the motor and frame grounds as well as dielectric grease every harness connector, so both the front and rear fenders must be removed. https://atvhonda.com/topic/570-how-to-properly-prep-your-honda-es-shift-system/

I'll be tearing back into the 450 soon. I need to take the exhaust off as the exhaust studs are wore out and the gasket is shot so it's loud and leaks profusely. Also, the steering stem bushing disintegrated and the handlebars move around like a plane yoke. No other updates besides needing to change the master cylinder out.

So anyways, let me tell you about why our country is going to crap.... 😅

I understand wanting to tweak things, but the older I get the less time I have to tweak things lol. Yea I’m looking at my options, including just seeing if my current universal plate is wide enough to sit on the frame bars. If it is I’ll drill and bolt it down and then find a plate for the fairlead.

Yeah it was a lot more work but if I remember right I felt that the mounting plate was too long for the bike. If I would have just bolted the plate onto the frame as the factory intended then the fairlead would have protruded out in front of the bumper a lot further, which looked china in my opinion. Another reason is that I tend to disassemble, modify and optimize everything that I build.... it's just work after all -- and optimizing things is something that I've always been good at. When I was a 6 year old kid I thought that I wanted to become a mechanical engineer.... I changed my mind as I grew older because re-tinkering everything else (as well as mechanical things) was more fun than just being a one-trick-pony. Honestly I just never grew up.... I think you'll have to mod a KFI to get it to fit good and look good on a 350 Rancher. The aftermarket has been dominated by china for decades so almost everything has been junk since the mid-1970s. Maybe another brand of mount will fit good, but maybe not.

Well this one is @basfnb's. I have two more just like it that I'm going to hopefully be able to build into one good one for the little princess. I'll practice on his crap just in case I mess it up! Had to order a flywheel puller this morning, and need to get a gasket kit ordered. These sideways engines are weird!

Yes, I use the Novus Plastic Polish kit that @jeepwm69 recommend years ago. I bought a power polisher as well to help make it the best I can... I never got to that as I had garage door open working on mine when the neighbour came over & asked if I could get his working better... Oh man... it was parked years ago in his shed. 2001 350 4x4. Gas just pouring out from overflow, gas smells brutal.. I've got his carb tore apart in Pinesol overnite, oil changed (smelled just as bad as the gas!) new filter, new plug, & have to still do front & rear diffs, & go over the bike better to check wheel bearings ect... she was rode hard & put away wet!

Wow , check out that master cylinder !!! You say that is off your street bike ? That is getting it done What " place " did you get your new master from ?

Well the previous post must have gotten deleted and just the pictures remained. But here's a update of the almost finished foreman. It's a little dirty from going to my sister's camp in Jan. I had to use my street bike's master cylinder because the original failed when I was bleeding the brakes before the camp trip. I ordered a new used unit from a place fishfiles recommended. So I'll install that soon. The rear hand brake cable failed too so I ordered a new one and just need to install it. I also need to adjust the front alignment because it is super sensitive at speed. I think the wheels are toed in too much. I will also adjust the handlebars because they feel like they are in my lap and is making slow speed hard over turns harder. That's the update for now.
