  1. Took my Rancher for a ride along my favorite trout stream on a warm sunny day
  2. That bike looks awesome! Probably better than new
  3. I hunted him for two seasons before I was able to get a good clean shot on him. I saw him many times but out of bow range(under 25 yards). I got lucky when he was in rut at the end of the second season.
  4. Got this buck here in western PA a few years ago with a bow. It scored 161.
  5. .Doesn't seem long since my son was playing pee wee football. He's now playing college football.
  6. I just installed a battery tender ring terminal quick connect cable on my Rancher last weekend. With the added thickness of the ring terminal the screw wasn't long enough to reach the nut. I folded cardboard and shoved it under the nut. After the screw started I pulled out the cardboard. I'm gonna use this trick when I install a winch. Thanks for the tip.
  7. This build looks very interesting. Nice work! Are you an engineer?
  8. I have a new 2020 Rancher with 0 miles. What is the best method to break in the new engine? Some say ride it easy some say ride it hard. Almost everyone says to vary the RPM and let the engine brake. I'm going to follow the expert advice I get on this forum. Thanks
  9. Its 90 octane non ethanol. The state of PA gas tax is second highest in USA at 58.7 cents a gallon. CA is the highest at 61.2.
  10. Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna stick with the pump
  11. I have been carrying a 12V pump and a plug kit with me on rides in case of a flat. I'm thinking of switching to CO2 cartridges to replace the pump. Does the CO2 work to inflate a plugged tire on the trail? Or am I better off sticking with the pump? Thinking about getting this kit or something like it.
  12. I'm lucky to have non ethanol fuel within a 15 minute drive. The only downside is that its $3.99 a gallon
  13. Sounds like you have a system down to keep it good. My system is to use non ethanol fuel in my ATV & other small engines.
  14. I was not able to get used to the ES in the 20 months I owned the bike. I found myself doing a lot of phantom foot shifting. I rode a foot shift bike for 40 years before I got the ES. When I bought the bike I followed the thread on the old Honda forum. I put white lithium grease in the shifter gears and dielectric grease on electrical connections. It shifted good almost all the time. I only got the (-) once an hour of riding. I sold it easily to a guy that was looking for an ES for his wife who never rode before.
  15. Every once in a while the ES shift would display (-) when I shifted. I always had in the back of my mind that it might miss a shift when I really needed it to shift. Example: large hill climbs. I debated for a while before I spent the $ to buy a new foot shift model.
  16. Today I sold my 2010 Rancher 4X4 ES . The bike was in near mint condition. It had 1000 miles on it. I sold it because I never liked the ES. I never had a problem with the ES working properly I just couldn't learn to like it. I bought a 2020 Rancher foot shift. I only took the new one for a couple mile ride because it was only 15 degrees here in the Pittsburgh area today. I have ridden bikes since I was 8 years old (I'm 50 now) and it was great to have a foot shifter again! I think I'll be doing more riding this summer.
  17. I'm 50. I got my first motorcycle when I was 8. Rode dirt bikes up until around my 40th birthday. Then I switched to an ATV.
  18. Hi new guy here. I have moved over from the other forum. I have a 2010 Honda Rancher 4X4 that is in very good condition. I do not have the mechanical ability to restore ATVS but I enjoy reading about it. I keep my Rancher running good thru PREVENTATIVE maintenance which I do have the ability to do. Thanks for having me.
