  2. just an update on this mess: finally got a sub-harness from cat fish ( we found one on a trx420 frame ! ), got home , plugged it all in, turned the key on, everything came on, cept one problem !, the neutral light on the display was not on ?, and the gear display had a line in it ?. hmmm..or course the ele start wont work, nor will it fire the plug, but i could pull the front brake lever and crank it over, but still wont fire the spark plug !. grrr..one more reason to hate es models !!!. so after down loading the service manual from our site here, and finding out where the gear position switch connector was located ? ( i already knew where the connector was..just wanted to make sure ! ) i pulled it apart thinking it may not be tight ?, or maybe a pin got bent ?..got it apart, all looked good, well crap, went to snap it back together, and the dang thing would not go back together to save my life !!!. great..now what ??. ( and you just know i'm cussing this pile of crap es even more now !..lol ) so i stepped over to the box where i put the old harness in, pulled it out, looked at the harness connector side, and where i THOUGHT it would have that white piece of plastic stuck down in it ?, WAS NOT THERE !, well wth ?..but new oem harness has it stuck down in there. now..i had this connected at first, but do not ask me how it went together ??.I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WENT TOGETHER !!..LOL. soo i popped the white piece out of the connector on the new harness, grabbed the gear position switch connector, and like a hand to a glove, it slid together like greased lightening !..no freaking idea how ?...but did !, reached up and turned the key on, NOW I HAVE A NEUTRAL LIGHT !!!, i knew it would start by the electric start button, and i knew it would fire the spark plug, sure enough, i pushed the start button, she fired right up !. all i need to do now is adjust the valves ( a tad ticking going on ), then i'll wrap this up, collect my cash, and he's a happy camper !.

  4. shindy makes some great valves, if you can get them shipped to you ?, get all 4 of them !.
  5. torch tip cleaners are one of the worst tools you could ever poke through a jet on a carb !, why i say this ? : because a torch tip cleaner has barbs around and down the length of the wire, in other words, its like a small round file !, so you are pretty much making that jet hole larger when running it up and down the jet hole, but hey..what do i know ?!..lol.
  6. way too much black color for me...too dark..yikes...lol. but looks great as far as the work goes !.
  7. you wont be able to save those valves, pitted way to bad. by the time you get them lapped down to a sealing surface ?, there wont be any metal left to hold up to it running.
  8. so far i got my riding mower up and running, both my motorcycles up and running, got my jet ski running ( it was just a bad battery ), still need to get the battery charged or changed in my '89 trx350D, and need to do some front brake work on my magna bike. most of this was from bad batteries !, thanks to the battery tender jr's letting me down ?!..lol. after getting my shadow spirit going again, i've been out cruising the roads lately. i've been really, REALY BUSY LATELY, get time, have a look at all the progress i made on my cabin post on the forums here !.

  11. you sure got that right !, i've spent the last couple weeks fixing all my toys that have been sitting for 2 yrs !..lol.
  12. you can not go wrong with a warn !. just make sure you get the KFI mounting plate, and KFI roller fairlead !. DO NOT USE A HAWSE FAIRLEAD ON ROPE LINES !!. you should get the pro vantage 3500-s warn winch though.

  18. rear main crank bearing ?, i just hammer them down in the case. oil the case where it goes, then oil the outside of the bearing, hammer that puppy down in the case, go slow, hit evenly around the outer bearing race, it should go right down in there.
  19. while you have the outer part of the knuckle off, now is the time to service the tappered bearings that sit down in the top, and bottom of the knuckle. they also have seals in them, they help with the steering. i always pull them out, clean, re-pack with fresh grease when i tear these down.
  20. and for the record ?, those pumps have a fuel filter in the inside bottom of them, they clog up alot.
