Ended up picking up a Savage Axis Sporter .223 and a Leupold Freedon .223 MIL TMR Reticle scope for it. I wanted a 50mm scope for it but the one I picked out was out of stock. He found this one and decided to go with it. Hope it will be here this weekend or next week. Took about a month from Ruger to get another mag for my LCPII. Heck I could of driven there and back in a day. They are a North Carolina based business. Never knew that until I bought my LCP. On the lookout for a revolver now. I had looked and the Remington 783 but the reviews I read were less than par.

So that hurricane that no one is sure how to pronounce, came and went. But today, we had more rain and man it came in quick. I am 100% sure that a tornado was over or very close to our shop today. The way the rain was coming in sideways to the shop was crazy! Couldn't get one door down because the rain was messing up the door sensor so it kept trying to go back up when you let off the close button.

3 summers during highschool I hung tobacco. One of the funnest jobs I ever had. Bulk barns were all we hung at none of the old style with people tying it off and hanging. Saturday mornings were usually the days we unloaded the barns, threw the ring on the burlap bags, packed the tobacco, and put it in the pack house. My boss was a jokester. He had a stuffed rattlesnake he would put in his truck bed and get people when it was lunch or break time. I got him back with a load if fox ! on a napkin stuffed down his vent in the work truck! Most of those barns are gone now and houses are in place of a lot of the fields. Those 3 tier barns we had to put 2x4s down with plywood were real sketchy and you better take a hammer and knock the nails down on the rails or the racks would hang up and hit the ground. Dang I miss those days of working!!
  5. My mother in law is looking to buy my father in law a new 4 wheeler. He has a 98 or 99 Foreman . Just last year had the original tires replaced so he is easy on it. How much bigger/smaller is the Rancher than a Foreman from that year . Really isn't that much difference in price from the Rancher and Foremans but she doesn't want it to be much bigger because it has to make some tight turns when being worked.

Went to an old friends local sports shop yesterday. Had not seen him in at least 20 years since college. Looking a .223 bolt action for my boys to start using to hunt with for now. Made mention I was looking an LCP I or II. He had a II. Needless to say, I left with it because they are no where to be found. Love the fact I can slip it in the soft holster and then slide it right in my pocket.

I had been eyeing the Ruger LCP .380 for a while and now they are out everywhere I go. My 43x is just a little to bulky on me.
  13. Happy Father's day! Taking the wife and boys over to my parents tomorrow to have lunch with them.

It has rained everyday this past week up till Thursday evening. We had about 2.5 days with out rain and mother nature decided it was time for more right now. Still have spots of water standing right below the grass. This is killing me on getting dirt to where I want to put up a new shop.....
  15. Still, that's a good bit of work.
  16. @shadetree, you have been a busy man!!
  17. We had the down stairs done not long ago. Went from a split unit to an all in one, duct work, electrical work, turn key job for $4700. 14 sire unit, I think 2 or 2.5 ton. He quoted me $4500 for the upstairs air handler and heat pump. No duct work included. I told him about it never getting below 76* during the blazing hot summer and he said he would have to come back and check the duct work routing and the insulation in the attic. Haven't heard back from him yet. I think he might not want to do it since it was said we would probably have to get an attic pull down door installed in the hallway.
  18. HVAC guy came out. He has done all my work. He replaced the capicator and all is good. Not sure what happened but he showed my wife the capicator I replaced last night was ballooned out. Something happened to it.... Anyways, thanks for the responses. My wife woke me up at 3am to make sure I knew it didn't work and she was sleeping downstairs. He is giving me an estimate to replace everything. The air handler is from 1986 and I already replaced that fan a few years ago . Tired of the upstairs never being cold ( never under 76*)during the summer so he is gonna come back and look at everything and see what we need to do. Said could be the routing of the duct work we ad replaced 10 years ago.
  19. Father in law called me today and said the condenser fan was buzzing and not turning today on our upstairs unit. He killed the breaker. Got home , cut it back on and gave the fan a spin and it started working. Had a spare new capacitor since this isn't the first time this now 8 year old unit has quit. Replaced it and still had to give it a spin to start up. Its a Goodman unit. Didn't see a 2nd capacitor on it but it does have a circuit board close to the capicator. Any help is appreciated!!
  20. There is a large forest that use to be Game lands here, Hoffman Forest. When it was open to the public we would go ride and play in the mud all the time. There were strange lights that you could never get close to. They seemed like the lights you would see on towers but the closer you got, they would vanish.

We had some sideways rain hit yesterday. Just about a white out it was falling so hard.
  22. Oh, I understand. I've been a mechanic for 20 years and know that I should, I just decided not to.
