  1. In my opinion he never gained control of the ball. It was a bang bang play and the defender knocked it free before he gained control of it. The officials reviewed it and REVERSED the call on the field. They don't reverse questionable calls, so obviously there was no doubt in the mind of the official. The rules expert on the coverage crew also agreed it was the correct call. I also don't think LSU will run over Clemson like they did Oklahoma, but we will see. I'm not a fan of either team remaining, so no bias here, but to me the best 2 teams remain and the system worked this year.
  2. What did the refs do to help Clemson? I watched the entire game and it looked to me like they got them correct; the targeting call, the fumble that wasn't because the catch wasn't completed, were there others I'm forgeting?
  3. You should be able to use a decent USB thumb drive distro to manually fix the issues with drives. It’s been a long time since I’ve played with Linux much so I don’t recall the exact procedures or tools you’d need. I always liked the distro Slax for stuff like this because it’s module based and you can add whatever tools/programs you need to complete the task. I’m sure you already know this, but you may have to manually mount the various drives to actually read the data on them. Some distros do it automatically while others don’t. At least that use to be the case.
  4. The aluminum looks really clean and bright, are painting it?
  5. I don't have a shop currently. Forced to work on stuff out of my 2 car garage. I set up portable tables and such for bigger projects, then take them down once I'm done. It's much better than working on things out in the driveway for sure but I'd love to have a 2 bay shop with a 2 post lift. I work on my old cars more than I do ATVs and I'm getting too old to be putting them up on jack stands and rolling around on creepers. Haha! Some day maybe. I do have a pretty good collection of older US made Craftsman hand tools, a 60 gallon compressor, a stick welder and etc. For hand tools I've needed to buy lately, I've been SK Tools and have been pleased with them so far.
  6. My wife runs a travel agency and she gets a generous stipend annually to travel on; so we've done a LOT of traveling. I've been very fortunate to travel to a lot of places I could not have otherwise gone; Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Yellowstone, California, Jamaica, The Caymans, and many others by land, air, and sea through the years. I use to be an avid scuba diver, loved to go south back then. Now I'm older, slower, more cautious and would rather go north, preferably into the mountains, if given a choice. Funny how interests change during a lifetime. I dream of retiring to a secluded cabin in the mountains but I doubt my wife will ever grant that wish. Funny story about a dairy farmer I met a couple years ago. The farm has been in his family for several generations. I was at his farm one afternoon and we got to chatting. The discussion turned to vacations and he commented that he'd missed milking two, maybe three times, that he could recall in since he was a young boy. About the same time, his teenage son was passing by on a tractor with a bale of hay and the farmer said, "Sadly, I'm afraid the farm will die with me because my son is headed to college soon and has no interest in it." Then I replied, "I wonder why!!" Hats off to dairy farmers, they are special breed with tremendous dedication.
  7. I'm with you on calling BS that it's not easier to kill deer by feeding them. Spin cast feeders, food plots, whatever your choice may be, it definitely makes for more opportunities, especially if you're just meat hunting. These days I enjoy the chase and just being out there seeing deer and other wildlife. Nothing like watching the woods come alive as the sun rises from a perch 20 foot a tree.
  8. It seems like the feeding has changed their habits here also. They don't move as much during the daylight hours as they use too, until the rut at the least. It's going to be hard to put that genie back in the bottle though. Too much $$$ involved in it these days.
  9. Yeah, it's illegal here now to transport any carcasses outside of the CWD zone. I'm guessing a lot of people aren't following that though. I have friends that are refusing to test their deer for it, even though the testing is free. Fish & game are actually encouraging everyone to kill their limit this year to try and control the population and spread of it. I'm hoping they can contain someway but from I've read it's just a matter a time before it's everywhere. That's a good point about the water supply. They say there is a high concentration in the saliva so it stands to reason any surface water supply would be contaminated.
  10. My wife uses Libra office on a couple of her work computers and it does ok for what they need it for. But the company I work for supplies Microsoft office and all of their files use it, so I don't have much choice but too use it.
  11. Nice racks on some of those whitetails. I hunt as often as I can, which hasn't been often enough this season but I'm about to change that after Christmas. I hunt in 2 counties that are just outside the CWD zone, so I started testing every one I kill last year. I'm not sure what to think about it honestly. Some scary stuff. They say a negative test is not a 100% guarantee the animal isn't infected and even though there aren't any documented cases in humans yet, some of the experts believe it's just a matter of time before there are. Then you have the difficulties of disinfecting/killing the prions. From what I've read it takes 1800 degrees to kill them. They say to wear gloves when handling them and avoid getting the bodily fluids on your gear. Fish & game recommends soaking your knives and such in a 50/50 bleach solution for 2 hours to disinfect them. All of that crap makes me not even want to shoot them anymore, let alone dress them and eat the meat. I'll probably never quit hunting though because I enjoy being out there. It is a great stress reliever.
  12. I use to be a die hard Slackware user back in the day. Enjoyed customizing it to my liking and tinkering with it. I used it a lot for programing because the tool chains were simple and free. Then life got busy, I ditched the desktops and servers, and now just use a Windows laptop exclusively. I use the suite of Office programs a considerable amount for work, so that has always been my anchor to Windows.
  13. They also know that the odds are low of them ever having to honor the lifetime warranty, not necessarily because the bearings won't fail but because most folks won't bother trying to get a free replacement. I'll 2nd the Timken recommendation, they make high quality bearings, at least they use to. We have a local bearing supply store here that sells them and I've had good luck carrying bearings in and letting them match them up.
  14. Thanks for all of the hard work retro and others! The site looks and works great to/for me.
  15. Howdy neighbor! Great to see you here. Nice find on the bike. Pretty soon you're going to need more parking. Haha!
  16. Works great for me! Like format also. Great job!
