    High beam trouble

Finally took it apart today. Pins on bulb rusted off to connector!! I don't know how the heck moisture could get in there. Had to us a drill and small bit to get the prongs out. Got a new bulb, applied dielectric grease, plugged in and put liquid electric tape where it would positively seal. Works fine now. Can't understand how it rusted. Never been swamped and in the garage when not being used.

You are correct, it is the enzymes in the meat and it ages way faster in venison than beef. That being said those enzymes can still break it down when frozen albeit much more slowly. Especially if there is no air present. If the meat is vacuum sealed or sealed in some other way it doesn't matter if your freezer is frost free or old style. Also some types of plastic wrap are not truly airtight and have micro pores that will let air through. That's why you see regular plastic bags and the same thing in freezer bags. Even plastic water pipes in your house will let air in but not leak. The pipe used for heating purposes is cross-linked so air cannot get in.
  4. Back when I was HVAC school they said expect 15 years and if it was anything over a couple hundred to fix it's cheaper in the long run to replace the furnace. Every year you got past 15 without major repairs is a bonus. I got a Weil-McLain boiler in 1997. Keep it clean, I changed the temperature/pressure gauge twice and the pop off valve once. Still looks and runs like new.
  5. Sounds like a bad blower motor. They can develop dead spots that will prevent it from starting.

Venison will break down faster than beef. Different kinds of meats have different rates. Vacuum sealing helps the most. If the meat is bloody when you thaw it that's because it wasn't frozen fast enough. If you put in a pile of meat to freeze it should be spread out so each package freezes faster. Otherwise you actually get small ice crystals in the meat that cut it and let the juice flow out. As a side note I always butcher my deer within one or two days and it tastes FAR better than game that has been hanging. Ages far faster than beef etc.

The enzymes in the meat will still break it down no matter how well sealed. You couldn't pay me to eat meat that old.
  8. I would force the dealer to fix it and eat it😡.

I mowed my lawn for the first time two days ago! Finally got some rain after that.
  10. I made new lids for my custom boxes today. This time I put 1" aluminum angle around all the edges to keep them from getting tore up. Gotta mount my gear grips on the front yet.

Yeah but found out they don't hold half of what they say especially with scopes on the rifle. Plus wanted some room for some ammo, accessories, bipods etc. It's actually only 40" wide and 59" tall.

Thanks guys. Wound up with a 36 gun Kodiak by Rhino Metalworks. Checked within 100 miles and this one i liked. Gun rack swings out. Did end up with electronic lock.
  13. I would like to see public executions again. Might make an impression and if it doesn't, you eliminated a future problem.⚰️☠️ Also there should be no such thing as attempted murder, just call it murder. You don't get leniency for screwing it up.
  14. Welcome from Northern Minnesota 👍. I started with a brand new 1985 200M. Rode it 19 years. Then got a new 2004 350 Rancher. Put 6000 miles on that, sold it and bought a new 2015 Rubicon FA7. Lots of good stuff on the site.

You guys have any personal recommendations on a gun safe that could hold a dozen long guns, 5 handguns plus ammo and valuables? Want the one hour 1200+ degree fire rating and manual dial. Don't want to break the bank though. Thanks
  16. We call those feeders Timber Wolf ambush spots.

They keep predicting rain here and we are not getting any this far north. My yard crunches when you walk on it. Mower is ready but it's going to be awhile.
  18. Real nice. Are you going to use it on the highway or behind the wheeler? I didn't see springs.
