you are correct..they did make that model in 2011, but he says its a 2010 ?, your also right, we need to know what the sticker or vin number reads ?.

yeah..i kinda figured that, sorry bro..but you have been taken for a ride..and i dont mean on this atv !..lol. its not a 2010 trx500es, honda did not make that model in 2010. until we get to the bottom of what the year model really is ?, we can't narrow it down as to where you need to start ?. but !!..i deff can tell you this, it has an auto tranny, and that tranny will not be easy to fix cost wise !, there are some threads going on in this forum right now of members ( trying ) to repair their auto honda's ?, i dont have any faith in this route ?, and i sure as heck would not want to buy a new tranny to put back in it !. the cost does not add up to the atv itself in my book. i stay away from auto's an es's as much as i can..they all are junk in my book..but hey..to each their own i say :-).

the paint ( silver ) holds up very well, i paint them silver because bare aluminum looks ugly, shows mud stains and everything else, so, i paint them silver, one of my trade marks :-).

let me take a stab at this, someone sold you this atv, and told you it was a 2010 trx500es , and with you not knowing a thing about honda atv's ?, you took their word for it...correct ?.

you either have a trx420fpa ?...or you have a trx680fa ?, either one of these has an automatic tranny, and i dont' work on them, they are junk once they break down, cost to much money to replace the tranny, which is what you have to do by honda's standards to fix it..and that tranny cost at min around $ 1,800.00 to replace.

sounds to me, first gear set is bad, you will need to rip the engine out, split the engine, replace first gear set. will it drive in any other gear other than 1st ?.

update; for all that want to know ?, i had time to get a test fire, and as always ( pats self on back ).she lives !.

update: my new parts showed up saturday, i will ( try ? ) to get them installed today some time , and do a test fire. my lower back is messed up pretty bad ( no clue how ?..have not lifted anything heavy lately ?? , and see if this project will once again run ? ( i never doubt my work..lol )..this has been one very large ( expensive ) restoration to say the least !. still need to get my '03 trx450fm out of my truck bed, went one last time to the deer woods saturday morning, never seen 1 deer ?..cept the one i almost ran into on the way there on the highway ?..rofl. i noticed my rear brake arm on my '03 trx450fm was not moving any when i had it in the truck bed loaded up for the ride home ?, i need to see what's up with that ?, prob needs some grease on the cam by now ?. anyway..will update this project as soon as i get to the shop, and install these new parts.

8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, spare spark plug ( just in case ! ), 1/2 ratchet ( 3/8's will work ), but the best tool you will ever need ?..your brain !. no..really..tell someone where you are going ?, when you think you may be back ?, and hopefully a cell phone that gets signal ?!..lol.

personally ?, i think the compression is a tad on the low side.

cam chain is loose ?, or valves were not adjusted/checked !.

bad battery ?, or bad starter solenoid ?. bad cable connections from battery to ground/starter ?. bad starter ?. any one of these issues can cause your problems :-). start with the simple stuff first, check your battery cables !.

hard to say ?..unless he used one of the o-rings in the kit thinking it went on the choke valve ?..hard to say if he bought a china knock-off shindy kit or not ?. i know for 100% fact..NO SHINDY REBUILD KITS COME WITH THE CHOKE PARTS !.

you need to stop with the b.s'ing !..lol. everyone here knows i do not mod my builds.

what he's saying is, carb rebuild kits DO NOT COME WITH ANY SEALS FOR THE CHOKE VALVE. only time you will get that seal that goes around the valve is when you buy just the valve kit ?..and they are not cheap !..lol.
