  1. unless you are talking about it not being in the very middle ?..either way bro...ITS STILL ON THE VERY BACK END !..LOL.
  2. umm..how am i wrong ?, the pic i see it mounted, is on the rear bumper that was posted ^^^, is that not where the can is mounted ??. if its not ?, then please show where it is ?.
  3. i have an issue with it...ITS RIGHT SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE REAR BUMPER !. can anyone guess what's gonna happen if he's rear ended ??..lol.
  4. haha...i''ve got a keen eye for details !..lol.
  5. photoshop all the way, notice the odd outline of the cop ?, plus he does not have a shadow on the street like the person bending over.
  6. pretty simple, L goes on the left front. then you look at the cross over tube which mounts across the top of the knuckle from front to back to the cylinders, once the wheel cylinders are bolted to the backing plate, the cross over tube threads only face one way, as well as the vent tube on one of the wheel cylinders, the backing plate has a hole for the vent tube, which means only one wheel cylinder will bolt up there. u-bracket always faces the front side of the knuckle. this is for your brake line.
  7. the arm was correct, but the lifter plate that holds the springs ( 4 ) to the friction disk was not correct, i had to take the springs out, install , stack them all back in the basket, put it all back together, and now the change clutch works like it should.
  8. yeah..wilwood is about the best calipers on the market, well used in nascar, world wide.
  9. high lifter uses wilwood calipers , unlike the china junk super atv uses.
  10. maybe i'm still on the short yellow bus ?, but !!, i've done brakes on just about all honda's ( old school ) there is out there, and to this day, i've yet had to use a mighty vac tool to bleed brakes ?!!!. all you need is a pair of vise grips, bottle of brake fluid, good shoes/pads that are pre-adjusted, and its home free !.
  11. be sure to inspect the pinion gear bearings !!!.
  12. haha...i've had a lot of those 8mm bolts rounded off ?, or plain just broken off when i started in on the brake drum cover ?. like you, some break, some round off, also like you, i grind the head off, then get the backing plate off, drill, tap new threads, those 8mm bolts are very easy to drill out, re-tap. it would be great if honda came out with rear disk brakes on these old girls back then !.
  13. i'm not a harley man by any means ?, but that is one nice looking bike !. barely has any miles on it !.
  14. trx2fiveO is alive , spoke to him a couple months ago, he's really busy with his job.
  15. your welcome. in case ya get the plates mixed up ? ( not sure why ya did not take pics..BEFORE you tore them down ? ), the plates have the letters R and L stamped on the back side. once you see this, then the wheel cylinders will only mount to the plate in the right hole, reason: the mounting holes, breather vent line tube will only fit in the plate in the correct spot, as well as the bolt holes to the wheel cylinder.
  16. welcome, plastic push pins is what holds the body panels together. also some metal u-clips that go in certain spots to tie two pieces together. as 87 said ^^^, the body panels around the fuel tank must come off as a set, sides, and top come off as one.
  17. lol..well..it's kinda cool looking, but i dont have time to waste, so i just bought an atv/motorcycle lift..lol. some of the best money i've spent while doing atv repair/restorations.
  18. lol, this is my second house call, i normally do not make house calls ?, but when koolaid was totally lost on this ?, i had to step up to the plate, and help the guy.
  19. put the pin in a large bench vise, twist the rocker box while pulling it off the pin. forget about what the book says !.
  20. update: got to koolaids place at 5:45 am ( roughly ), pouring down rain driving to his place from the freeway, had to wait for him to get there, he was coming back from a job he had to run too. waited in my truck while he was getting the trailer awning down. then i sat there waiting for the rain to stop. finally about 7 am, it let up, got the atv pulled under the awning, up on milk crates, took the right side clutch cover off, everything looked right, EXCEPT THE CHANGE CLUTCH ?, the friction disk were not tight against the middle center plate !!. i asked him on the phone that night we first talked if they were tight ?, he said yes. then i find out that he thought i was talking about the centrifugal clutch ?!!..lol. anyway, i fixed the change clutch, fixed his ignition switch, packed up, sent bcs a text at 9:04, telling him i was headed back home. another happy ending !.
  21. ya know..it does not matter to me if we have 3, 34, or 346 ?, what matters the most..is where honda atv owners can come to for answers !!!. if they can't get help ?..then it would not matter if there was 346 million members ?, a forum is only as good as what the current members there can supply to new people !.
  22. i had nothing to do with this thread ?!!..lol. do you folks think i just enjoy telling you noobs what, and what not to use just to waste my time ?..lol. i tell you what to use...BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, SEEN IT, AND KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT !..LOL.
  23. ya know...some times...i really hate being right !..lol. i installed the high lifter kit, and i can pull my front brake lever on my '03 trx450fm, and it will lock up the front brakes real quick !.
  24. you already know what i am going to say ?!..lol. ditch the china junk, put oem bearings in there, tighten down the castle nut good, see if you still have any wobble ?. if you do ?, then the knuckle is worn ?, or the end of the cv joint where it rides against the bearing is worn ?.
