batteries are lithium, oem apple battery. i do not know if permatex would work or not ?, its a very, very small bead that runs around the screen and frame side.

you very well could have a bad spot in the harness.

i'm no well drilling expert !, but isn't it very risky drilling a well right next to that tree ??..hmmm..i see trouble years down the road for roots ripping that pipe up ?.

the angle sensor is a small round switch, it has roughly two bolts holding it to the front of the electric shift box at the front bottom of the engine next to the shifting motor.

OK, lets back up a tad. your very first post said your electric shift was showing -- -- ?..well..this tells me either the angle sensor is bad ?, or the shaft that pokes into it is sheared off not turning the angle sensor ?. i know you wont like my next theory !, but you will need to pull the rear cover back off to get to the gear position switch. once you get to it, turn the key on, slowly turn the switch to watch and see when you get the neutral light to light up on the dash, now put the cover back on. at this point you should only have a neutral light on at the display as well as the letter N showing on the display. now go to the front, pull the cover off the electric shift gear area, take a socket that will fit on the shaft on left side where the emergency shifter would go, shift up one time, when you do this, watch to see if the shaft at the front turns ?, if it does not ?, then its broken off the long shaft inside the front or inside the motor ?. the gear position switch at the back just tells/shows on the display what gear your in, neutral, reverse, or any of the other 5 gears. the angle sensor tells the ecu that the transmission has shifted, as well as the speed sensors located on the engine. have a look at those as well. and all i say here, then get back to us.

update: got the rims painted, installed, need to adjust the toe-in-out, front wheels are not straight. got the bottom skid plate cleaned and painted, installed. rear hitch installed, but have not painted it yet. was able to crank her up, and check my clutch adjustment, seems to be ok now ?!, shifts a lot better than it was, but i had to turn the adjustment bolt like 2 full turns counter clockwise !..lol. anyway, i will know more when i get it rolled out of the shop, and test ride it. then i will go back over cleaning it up, shiny and all, then take some final pic's, then post it here and on cl's for sale !.

ok, on the gears inside where the starter meshes , they should turn freely one way, but lock the other way when you try to spin them, you should be able to spin them by hand, if not ?, then some how you got something put together wrong ?. maybe a thrust washer in the wrong place ? it should be installed just like this fich ---> https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/atv/2006/trx500fm-a-fourtrax-foreman-4x4/starter-gear .

here is one i cleaned up, and it was 10 times worse than what you got !..lol.

guessing this is a trx500fm ?, i just looked your model up, and there is a gasket on the rear cover ( stator cover ), you must have this gasket !. make sure you installed all the parts correctly !!!!!.

ok..my first question regarding the starter..when you put the rear case back together..did you use a oem gasket ( if it had one ? ), or did you use some stupid rtv sealant ?. reason i ask : YOU MUST HAVE SPACE BETWEEN THE CASE HALVES THERE !..OR YOU WILL PINCH/BIND THE STARTER !. second: did you make sure you put it all back together correctly ?, trust washers if there was any ?. the main thing is the gasket !!!.

nope !!!..lol. you have a swann system, same system i have. it does not take 2 hours to view a video ?..IF THAT CAMERA RECORDED ANYTHING AT ALL !. you simply find the video that was recorded, pull it up ( open it ) start the video ( play back ), on the screen it has arrow buttons to click it to fast forward the video in small sections, 1x,2x,x8,x10..something along this line ?. you and me can do this, i do not know what kind of system this guy has ?, but if its anything like ours ?, he can do the very same thing. sounds like to me either he's too lazy or too stupid to take the time to do this ?, or..he has no idea how to operate the security system ?..lol. or..he knows the ppl that took the atv ?!. hmmm..think on that for a bit !..lol.

got the new tires mounted on the rims, new valve stems on the front rims..they were rotted. need to do some more small stuff before i roll it out of my shop so i can start in on a friends 2011 trx420fpe to change out his harness, oil and oil filter change, gonna make about 300 bucks off that project.

most ( not everyone here ) does not own newer atvs..spec me !..i like older stuff..it wont let me down like this new crap they are building !.

its very posb the switch itself is bad ?. it wont hurt to not show 4th or 5th on the display...AS LONG AS YOU KNOW ITS GOING INTO THEM ?!..LOL.

re-use it, i do all the time, unless you break the tang off when bending it back ?, re-use it !.

i could have had bestbuy replace the battery, they was selling them for like 20 something bucks, but none was in stock until aug 8th ?..lol. or i could have bought a kit like you said, but once you break the water sealant under the glass ?, you have no way of making it water resistance anymore !..lol.

not sure this is worth posting ?, but figured i would give ya'll a heads up about iphone-8 batteries going bad ?!. last night while over at a friends place, i noticed the screen on my iphone-8 was pushed up on the right top hand side ?..hmmm..wth ?..this phone is about 2 yrs old ?, sets out in my truck alot, or i lay it down out in the sun ( yes..i know now...bad move ! ), anyway, i was able to pry the screen all the way up off the bottom frame, looked at the battery, and it was swelled up like it had air in it ?..yep..not good !. looked in the settings, sure enough, battery app shows the battery needs replacing...grrrr..so now i sit here waiting on my phone to be fixed, there goes another 100 bucks !..lol. for the record: YES YOU CAN PRY THE SCREEN UP OFF THE FRAME, REPLACE THE BATTERY YOURSELF ?, BUT !!!..YOU WILL LOOSE THE WATER SEAL GASKET STUFF THAT WRAPS AROUND THE SCREEN AND FRAME !!!. so i am having a cell phone place called '' u break it, i fix it ( this is all one word when looking them up ), charging me right at 100 bucks to replace the battery with an oem apple battery..i told them..DO NOT PUT A CHINA BATTERY IN MY PHONE !..LOL. they showed me the apple battery from the box..yep..apple battery.
