  1. Did you watch the video or is this a turtleneck deal? 🤣 We agree on principal of a tool being a tool. The video ends with the conclusion that it was wrong for government to step in and tell a free people what to do but "the road to ! is paved with good intentions" Trying to protect children is the excuse to take away liberty in more than just this context. ATCs will come back at some point. You know personally why people call these killers... Edit: Some tools are more dangerous than others... I don't own any Chinese AKs for the same reason. Edit 2: Reading over that last comment... it could be more clear. I don't mean that it is dangerous due to build quality like the ChinaKs but dangerous none the less. The ATC is dangerous due to design and the gun due to material and build quality.
  2. Compilation of this year's "Daily Dose of Internet" videos. Great channel for curated, short and interesting stuff. ~13 minutes
  3. Well congrats on getting it going... that was quite the uphill battle! Could be many things but I will take a shot and say that it could be related to fuel. The filter on this model is prone to clogging... especially after sitting. Honda made a relocation kit that moves the filter off the bottom of the pump sump. Have you purged the fuel system and checked the flow? The service manual describes the method for turning the fuel pump on and measuring the amount of fuel dispersed when the key turns on. It would run if not completely clogged or if the pump hasn't given out. Oil check on this bike is different from most others.. make extra sure you are following the manual Let us know what you find out!
  4. Little bigger than a 50 most likely. I would guess new CRF125s
  5. Mirror Man, Tree Hugger 101 and Alcoholic Sand Sinners all got a chuckle out of me so good job there 😂 The first one too... Poor silverback probably felt pretty emasculated after he did his charge and the weird looking bald face monkey was just snaking on leaves like nothing happened.
  6. Sounds like a vacuum leak. Being that there is no throttle side diaphragm on this model (as we discussed earlier) the next primary suspect is the intake boot. In the most simple terms... air is getting somewhere it shouldn't. There are a few different possibilities that come to mind... Leaky intake boot, improperly lapped/adjusted valves, carburetor/throttle adjustment and worn-out parts... If the throttle is hard to push (at all) there may be resistance in the slide or cable causing this symptom. Don't think it's that due to it revving up on its own though... hard to tell from video. There are a few different checks that can be done to test for leaks around the intake boot. The most common is to spray carb cleaner or starting fluid around the area to see if any is sucked in causing a noticeable difference in RPM. That way is arguably dangerous due to the possibility of the flammable liquid combusting so is frowned upon by some. My counter-point to that argument is that the amount needed for the test is so minimal that if it did catch fire would quickly burn away before causing further damage (assuming it didn't light something else in the process) (AKA use common sense!) If you choose to do the test make sure you use very short bursts and give time for the product to evaporate before going further. Greasing the boot before installation (lightly) will sometimes make up for a slightly worn boot. Some folks who run in deep water will use a large amount of grease around all sealing points as an attempt to prevent water from coming in.
  7. Alright fish... some monkey videos! "Monkey" is used pretty loosely here as most of the videos are actually chimps and gorillas. First two videos are about 2 minutes and the last is around 4 Thanks for looking!
  8. Interesting product... just looks like bent plate A capable metal fabricator would be able to produce something amazing that is similar. Maybe contact a local metal shop who can fab it and has a deburr tumbler. Cerakote Armor Black is air cure and looks very similar to the finish in the picture. How expensive was that before the company stopped producing them? How much did you expect to pay for it today?

    Field Fixes

Here is a video about replacing a seal without full engine disassembly. Goes without saying this is not the correct way to do this but is done to avoid further disassembly. I have only done this with a shift shaft seal which is quite a bit easier than what you will see in this video. On the smaller seals... a normal wood screw with the point ground off and tiny pilot hole is all you will need. No slide hammer either for removing and replacing that seal... just grab with vice grips and pull Just as an aside... if you are thinking of replacing a seal without disassembly consider that the seal may be a symptom but not the actual problem. If the bearing that the shaft is running on is out-of-spec the seal with have to work overtime due to the play in the shaft. Full disassembly is almost always the best way to go! Thank you for looking!
  10. Yea it's an 08 700 All original with the exception of a UNI filter. Garage baby... still got the original tires on it. Wasn't yours custom made and not available today? I won't be pulling the trigger on anything now but shopping the idea at least.
  11. A video of someone with premium health insurance ~4 minutes
  12. Man... that really sucks. You 100% did the right thing but that doesn't make it easier does it? Can you clarify exactly what is illegal? I have personally taken deer with a knife in similar situations to what you describe. If an animal is suffering it is the right thing to do. Anyone with experience would agree... I'm sure there are some counter arguments but I don't buy em. I hope you loaded her up and went straight home to save the meat but I would understand there are likely some possible legal (or logistical) complications.
  13. No apology needed from my perspective... you were only trying to argue the good point of "follow the service manual". It just bit you this time... lol What's worse is not even looking at the timing marks, just taking the top covers off and looking at the cam while using a small flat screwdriver in the spark plug hole to find TDC... ...which is what I will do if I am feeling too lazy to take off more covers.
  14. I know this is like saying buy a Yamaha on this site but... I am not a fan of ITP Mudlites That being said... We run mostly hard packed surfaces, woods and fields here so don't have a need for a mud tire. Lots of stobs here though (small tree stumps less than an inch in diameter) Is stob a word for anyone else? Might not be using that right lol My favorite tire is WANDA brand (rip-off but decent ones) 6 ply and decent. The distributor is Libra Trailer Parts... amazing customer service and the price can not be beat. These tires compare to the Maxxis Bighorn tread pattern and are my current go-to utility tire. There are different sizes available... just linked these as an example. https://www.libratrailerparts.com/atv-tire-radial-26x9R12-front-26x11R12-rear-p350-full-set Here is a pic of the set on my buddies 05 Foreman
  15. A few quick ones for y'all... One absolute gem of a news clip from YT and the rest are Streamable links Thank you for looking! https://streamable.com/h6bd ~ 3 min 30 sec https://streamable.com/b3e8s ~ 45 sec https://streamable.com/29frg ~ 30 sec https://streamable.com/xh1q1 ~ 45 sec https://streamable.com/r5r11 ~ 15 sec (Light language warning) https://streamable.com/wu5ru ~ 60 sec
  16. From what I have found so far this model is actually a 1992 TRX350N... is that right? Can look on the frame's model sticker to find out if you haven't already. Totally unfamiliar with that model as it would be Canadian and UK only. Can't find any manual that specifically references the 1992 model (or the 350N at all) Most info about this bike online is from Goober and Shade anyway. Had a time tracking down a decent cam... I might have one of the last NOS cams for this bike in the US lol That manual was printed about three years before your bike was produced... there is certainly a possibility that some changes were made. 🤷‍♂️
  17. Hello again everyone! Wanted to get some of your thoughts on sway bars. For those unfamiliar... On an independent rear suspension (IRS) quad a component sometimes exists that doesn't show up on a single rear axle (SRA) That component is usually referred to as a sway bar (stabilizer). Its purpose is to limit the potential difference in angle caused by having full travel on both sides. Sway bars also exist on the front of some machines for the same reason. Long/short is that it makes an IRS quad feel more like SRA. My question can be summed up as this... Do I want a stiffer sway bar in the rear of an IRS quad? I know Honda's engineers design with many factors in mind and just wonder if this is an area where cost of production is winning over robust design and a bigger sway bar would just be overall better. Part of me (when riding an IRS bike) is feeling like there is an improvement to be made. Not sure if that is because I am more familiar (and therefore more comfortable) with SRA or because having a stiffer sway bar will improve "performance". IRS while sliding, jumping, rough bumps, wheelies etc... has a completely different feel Should I just enjoy the "Remote Control Car" feeling of full independent suspension? Is going for a stiffer sway bar best? Better to restore the OEM? (New bushings... etc) Nothing is worn beyond use but in very normal used condition. Thank you for reading!
  18. Didn't want to ruin anything for ya but I appreciate that you are taking the time to make the consider the circumstances surrounding the video. I went through a similar deal a while back... better not to perpetuate the bad stuff and focus on the good is where I ended up with it. Love the old Honda minis and would take a new monkey in a heartbeat if given but if my money was being spent... it would be on a restored one. --- This video of @m_quick blowing up his old 700 needs to be on here... Funny story behind this video... Never met mquick but I have been watching it for years and showing it to folks who want to know what an engine about to pop sounds like. I think with hindsight it is clear that the motor is making noises that it shouldn't. With full gear, loud pipe and not listening at the moment it likely wasn't as clear back then. If you ever hear an engine make noises like that don't limp it home... stop and trailer it back... it isn't worth the damage. Anytime you are full speed like he was in this clip and hear a noise... grab the clutch and shut the bike off as fast as possible. You might prevent more damage. What the noise sounds like to my ear is timing chain slap that finally lets go... who knows after seeing the carnage though ~2 minutes
  19. Welcome! Got quite a project on your bench. Keep going!
  20. Welcome! Takes doing it wrong before to recognize things like this. Doing it wrong a bunch of times before getting it figured out is kinda my thing 😁 You are now the forum's expert on what the symptoms of turning the engine backwards while attempting to find TDC look and sound like lol Like you, I am curious why the manual I have access to (86-89 Foreman 350) says clearly to turn the flywheel clockwise (incorrect) Wondering if it is actually CCW for every 350 or if the 92 UK model you have is different. Either way you got it figured out Nice work! Thank you for sharing!
  21. The point I was trying to make is that it doesn't actually matter what the manual says. Is it the correct manual year? UK? If the motor is turning a specific direction-of-rotation while running... that is the direction-of-rotation used when coming up to TDC. If you didn't have the manual you would always want to turn the engine the way it turns while running... right? Otherwise you would be running the 4-stroke process backwards which is what I believe we are seeing in the video above. Explains why he saw the compression after the exhaust valves closed, why the bike runs correctly and why the photos he posted of the timing marks and cam look correct (they are) Like I said above my guess is that the 92 350 available in the UK has different bottom end than what is showing in the manual I have access to. Don't actually have the service manual for the 92 personally but my 350x is counterclockwise with the same top-end components so logical explanation from my perspective He is probably snoozing at the moment but will likely only need to turn the engine whatever way it does while running (or turning with the kicker) and set the valves on the compression stroke to be fully fixed up. Edit: Misunderstanding (like you said above) is also very possible... clockwise on one side of motor is anti-clockwise on the other
