  1. Oh man. I have walked the path on this one lol The short answer is get it TIG welded if you know someone who can. Best solution by far. You might see Alumiweld or some other brand of the same. Zinc alloy rods for "welding" (brazing) aluminum If you are really set on doing it yourself and you don't have a TIG please consider this exact product... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Brazing-Rod-42x18-sticks-and-Flux-4oz-jar-Vulcan-G-51/300879153744?hash=item460dcb8a50:g:xKwAAMXQCtlRSwvP This company knows their stuff when it comes to brazing and is the ONLY thing I tried that actually works. You will need a cutting torch with brazing attachment for this of course.
  2. I agree that pretty much any coating will wear off in this situation. https://www.mcmaster.com/stopper-bolts/ Just a few holes and fasteners on the back side. I wouldn't actually buy from mcmaster price-wise but for reference. Side benefit of rubber would be holding the tank in over big bumps if it is on the empty side
  3. Check your service paperwork and see if it has been adjusted multiple times. Otherwise it is a really simple process. The adjustment screw is where a foot shift would be if I remember correctly. You just follow the directions on the side of the engine. If you want to research the process YouTube is a great tool but you have access to a full service manual as well! This link will take you to a PDF version to look through if that is something you are interested in. This is something you can definitely do yourself! Just don't be afraid to go slow and ask questions along the way!
  4. It would be a lot of things before that in my experience. Clutches probably too tight. Also get a new battery if you haven't in a few years. I suggest LifePo4 as they last twice as long
  5. Welcome! First off, that is a clean looking Rancher in all black! I like it! If the clutch has not been adjusted it could be a very simple fix on the shifting issue. Do you happen to know if Honda has adjusted the clutches? If so when?
  6. I agree but not sure how to upload a video. If you click on the bottom right it has sound on Imgur. I tried to embed but the forum no like.
  7. Hmm. Maybe try it again. The link takes me to the album like it should. Not sure why it wouldn't work.

  9. Always has been very good on the buyer side of things. The issue for me is when you are a seller and you get a large amount of money in your account and want to withdraw it. Our business funds were frozen for over 3 months while Paypal did nothing and ultimately never gave a reason. I found out later that it is a super common issue but again it is only trouble on the seller's side. I ended up going with this company for the replacement seat cover. https://www.ebay.com/str/joemama1931 My package went from Piggott, AR to Memphis, TN and back to AR. Typical FedEX 😄
  10. Hey all, This is the beginning of a restoration project for me. Picked up a non-running but decent shape 1991 Honda XR80R dirt bike. This is the same model I rode when I was a kid and it is smaller than I remember. 😁 Previous owner didn't know (or didn't tell) me much about the bike other than that it sat for a few years. Someone put the seat cover and grips on it recently but that's mostly it for new parts. I checked compression and spark before I left and it was leaking gas so definitely had carburetor issues but I loaded it up. Since taking these pictures I was able to verify that the carburetor is hooped. Missing choke mechanism and several other components that don't come in a rebuild kit. The chain and sprockets that are on it are not matched and I don't know who would even try but they did anyway. Both side panels and the muffler cover are the biggest missing pieces. There is also a crack(s) in the plastic gas tank so that will likely need welded or replaced. Going to share the process with you folks but the idea is to make her ride-able again. My grand plan includes a rear shock upgrade, white powder coating on the frame, fixing all the plastics and overall making it look and feel like new. I am not a fan of the blue so that will be changed. Likely will need to get into the engine at some point but very strong compression for an old bike and I'm not afraid of engine work. (Especially small ones like this) Thank you for looking!
  11. Best believe I'm getting my $25 back on principal. 😁 It's going to cost me more than double in time spent dealing with it but happy to do it. Paypal is great as a buyer but I'm not a fan of the seller side of things. Had some money held arbitrarily on a business transaction.
  12. eBay seller MOTOGEARFORYOU is a scammer. They will change their name but if you don't get lazy like I did you can avoid this situation. Always go to the recent reviews for a seller you are evaluating and check for negatives in the past month. I did not do this for this seller because I was in a hurry and paid the price. There were plenty from the past few months. It was a seat cover and I was sent the wrong one. Been on eBay for over 10 years and have made thousands of purchases across multiple accounts for personal and business and this is my first time not being able to resolve a situation. Never buy from MOTOGEARFORYOU on eBay. They are an "Arizona based textile company" so look out for a company fitting that bill. https://www.ebay.com/str/motogearforyou
  13. 2012 Sportster 1200 Buddy decided to let it go to someone who will hopefully run the wheels off.
  14. @TRX2FiveO A lot of helpful and friendly advice from him. Thank you if you see this!

I don't live in Fayetteville to be clear. Totally agree on too many people. I moved to a big city for work, never again! Five miles to the closest paved road for my property. ~2 hours to a Walmart Paradise
  16. For the love of god no. Just reattach and clean 😅 You can do whatever you want with your machine but I would take that and get it back to stock look/condition and sell/trade for a green one before you ruin yours. That bike is in such good shape and will end up looking like this if you PlastiDip it.

Shade is the closest member to me. Jeep is definitely closer to him though. I live in the boonies lol

I'm guessing I was connected to a VPN when I first signed up for this forum but I wasn't paying attention. Fixed it now though. Closest to Shade!

It is built into most editing software. Flip is the usual labeling. Basically it is taking a picture and digitally mirroring it but 30 times per second. With a normal picture you can do this many different ways. If you open a photo in default Windows 10 it opens in "Photos" From Photos you can click on Edit and Create > Edit > Flip

    Tools

Hey all, I had to semi-retire my IR air impact after it failed to remove a large nut the other day. Ended up going for a display unit at the big box hardware store and I am really pleased with it. I ran red tools for work but personally prefer the green/blue one. Any brand of the 18v tools will outperform most air tools we are used to using and are just so convenient. Expensive tool but very powerful and very useful. oh400ex
  22. Welcome! These are Honda's push clips for fitting plastics together. They actually work great and even though they are a bit expensive from Honda they can be bought all over the place for cheaper. My local auto parts store sells a 100 pack for ten bucks.
  23. I think that something in the Foreman speedometer thread is tickling Google just right. I think that some/most of the guests are trying to message AKATV about a rebuild. Based on the amount of new sign-up and people posting they can not message him directly. For every post about it there are probably 10 silent ones. Just a thought. I don't see a problem with locking down the member listing (or more in general) to non-members I am a privacy weirdo and live in the woods though so take that with a grain.
  24. Did you go with BeQuiet because they were cheap or did you seek out the brand? Either way good choice. I like those and Noctua the best by a mile. Linux is a great choice too! Are you virtualizing it and what distro are you running? Great job!
  25. I know you are going back and forth on this but I think you should do it. It really isn't that much more work or cost in material compared to not doing it and being in a worse spot than when you bought it even after all this initial work. Like the others have mentioned it will be the right decision in the long run.
