  1. @HectorC74 are you doing the compression test hot? Gotta be hot to read right, if cold you'll get squat lol. Please retest after a good hot ride and report back what the new reading is. And loose valves can do it, if they aren't up tight it won't bump the compression release. But strangely enough I seen 300 Fourtraxs that never had the valves adjusted fire and run n good, don't ask me how lol.
  2. I'll look into it while on downtime when I'm free. Thanks, I just want a factory look is all. 😁
  3. Here's the most recent info I found. But in my defense lol I'm looking at all brands one that keeps jumping out at me is KFI cause of the lower amp draw at load 170 at 2,500 pounds. And all metal construction but, not fully waterproof. Yea I looked at the warn VRX25 but I don't think at 4.7 inches tall the gearbox will fit under my fender to where the top of the gearbox doesn't hit my fender underneath. What I was hoping for are pictures from folks with warns on 300s that clear the front fender underneath.so I can see before I buy. Just shopping not buying as of now.
  4. @jeepwm69, put something over that shaft to protect the splines and clamp it.
  5. ^^ I got to looking and comparing numbers and the Mile Marker 2500 is geared more 241:1 and a 2 or 3HP motor all fully sealed with IP67 Oring seals 3 stage planetary gear and will fit under my fender. Just saying not buying now just saying. I think I'll let my uncle have my Terra 35 for his new Honda pioneer. Or for his wife's John Deere Gator.
  6. Here it is, ya gotta read it to get to it, it's long. https://www.hondaatvforums.net/threads/fixing-electronic-shift-es-problems.48080/
  7. On the old site Kentco mentioned it, and I remembered thinking it may help.
  8. @shadetree and I were talking about a problem I had and the topic of winches came up, I was curious if anyone knew or has photos of their winch under the fender of a 300 Fourtrax, mostly what I'm looking for are maximum height measurements. I found out Warn makes a VRX series. But the height is 4.74 on the gearbox. My Terra is way to tall. Any help or pictures would be appreciated. I'm looking for a replacement winch if possible, the rack isn't a smart mounting place, "haven't used it, cause was going to route new cables but haven't got to it" LIFE got in the way. Or I wanna find an old XT or pro vantage 25 if still new ones around.
  9. So I was wrong huh? I didn't know anything but the white lithium.
  10. ^^^ Meant to say another thing that I did. In the beginning sorry
  11. Also another that I did to debunk @Brantley Foreman concern was to take photos of my jets. Everything checks out. This is a tech help ya might say.
  12. @toodeep @Scotticus idk if this applys but here's how I did my 300 when I got it off of the older gentleman up the road. Think Diesel Engine, you wanna load it down with a good heavy trailer or hold it with the brakes to where your slowly moving a steady speed but still gotta pull hard and pin the throttle get those rings to seat good n tight. Backing off and moderating it.
  13. I would watch it and change oil until all the good is gone, but me personally I'd replace the discs if you that's what you had to unstick. You just don't know how long it'll last as is. Just my suggestion.
  14. Yea I'd check your cables wouldn't hurt a nice your in there to do it all. Seals and check cables ect. I still gotta rebuild my front brakes on my 300.
  15. What you can also do to make the ES shift smooth is take the motor off take the gears out NOTING THE POSITION AND ORDER OF EVERYTHING and scrape out all the stiff gummy grease and use all temp white lithium grease. It'll shift much smoother. Just thought I'd add that tip. But yea fully charged battery. While your there it wouldn't hurt to dielectric grease all your connections.
  16. Oh boy Amazon and eBay carbs lol but yes get OEM parts to rebuild yours, something simple I'm sure
  17. @Riverside21 Honda Parts Nation or Partzilla. Go OEM and you won't have to worry. This probably won't apply but storytime. Several months ago watching Nick's Garage on YouTube, had a mustang, timed it up wouldn't fire, hook a timing light and it flashed on the end of cranking so coil was shot. If you haven't get your money ney back and go OEM CDI and coil. Like I said I doubt this will apply but good info to know. Also use a NGK DPR8EIX9 iridium plug greater spark. DON'T get those E3 garbage. I been running the iridium plug for years now. Great spark fires with very little effort. https://www.amazon.com/NGK-Iridium-Spark-Plugs-DPR8EIX-9/dp/B00MRAV2U8 Or get one for $ 9.59 https://www.amazon.com/NGK-DPR8EIX-9-Iridium-Spark-2202/dp/B0032YRU3G
  18. Didn't have a hose long enough to suck fuel out of my riding mower so I used water and an old 4 inch long section of fuel line, long story short, couldn't see well enough cause the water would drop off the pin when closed so I pulled the hose off and blew by mouth and I didn't hear any hissing when float was up so I'll get a fuel line and run er this weekend.
  19. Does it have to be nessicarily a motorcycle machine shop, just curious I always thought motorcycle ATV has to be that type of shop for rebuild. Regular machine shops at least far as I know have 0 experience with motorcycle stuff. Plus the bore and honing machines wouldn't go that small I don't think, may be wrong but never hurts to ask.
  20. Never done it before lol but hey I'm up for learning. I hate hot that fuel tank is made on the 300s almost impossible to get my hand in there, can't find a small copper tube or vaccum pump electric of course. So shook it yesterday sucked with a house junk vaccum shook upside down some more while sucking. Can hear you be grain of dirt still but the screen will stop that. I don't think I'll have my buddy clean it I'll see what this does to fix.
