as fish ^^^ said..motor has to come out, split, gone through, then back together.

if for some reason you can't afford to purchase a new rocker gasket ?, you can buy a can of copper spray from autozone, advanced auto parts, give the old gasket a couple coats on each side, re-use it, done it many times, it works !.

oh, I don't got by sound when adjusting my clutch ?, I go by feel and end results.

very first post, you said you turned the adjuster all the way counter clockwise as far as it would go ^^^^^, then after that, you don't say ( or I missed it ? ), that you then turn the adjuster bolt clock wise about 1/4 turn, then lock the lock nut down while holding the center bolt in place ?.

no..i have not caught my foot on anything, i dont ride with my foot hanging down below the foot rest, thats just begging for it to get ripped off..lol. i learned along time ago ( no bad wreck or anything ), never leave your toes pointing down, or they will get hung on something, and do like your saying. sooo..i keep my feet level at all times.

sounds like the clutch adjustment is being adjusted wrong to me.

i paint my motors all the time, krylon silver paint from wally world, has stuck pretty good so far. you will need to clean the engine of all crud before you paint it.

lay spark plug on engine for ground..not frame.

with spark plug in boot, laid on engine, neutral light on dash, cranking it over, watch spark plug, get spark ?.

you don't get 13v in boot wire bro, least not 13v !..lol

yep, i think your fine with the c.d.i , if it was the c.d.i ?, it wont even start !..lol.

paint on the motor should not make them run hot bro !. i paint mine all the time, and not one of them has ever ran hot. oil not flowing good will cause this, bad oil pump, or weak oil pump, not enough air flow to the engine will make them run hot.

from the sounds of it, it almost sounds like its not getting enough fuel too me ?, unless your spark just goes away ?.

go through all your wire harness connections, and make sure they are clean and tight ?.

i asked above ^^^, only because if it was the wrong c.d.i. ?, it would not start period.

when it dies, did you pull plug, lay on engine to see if you have spark ?.

is there a way you can jump the fuel pump relay, long enough to see if you get 12 volts to pump ?.

yep, pour it through coffee filters..lol.
