  1. welcome to the forums, outstanding pic ^^^ !.
  2. welcome to the forums. lot's of old members here !..prob more older than younger ?!..lol. you are in great hands here. going by yer screen name, i take it you are in arkansas ?.
  3. that part you are holding is a warn 424 disconnect, very rare item !. its not part of the atv. if its working ?, it disconnects the front drive shaft from the engine, so you are not in 4wd all the time. i'm not sure why it would be on that model ?, as that model has its own disconnect from the factory. unless its not working on the atv ?. and welcome to the forums !.
  4. update: it's gone, i got paid, now i can order parts for the gal's trx450fm.

welcome to the forums, your in good hands here.
  6. haha..thats ^^^..about the looks of it alright !..lol.
  7. you make it sound like its all plug and play ?..but it is not on the trx420's, '' most '' of these models have a O2 sensor, when you go changing the exhaust ?, you will have to change the ecu..which means some kinda programmer ?, which means more money. i have nothing against some one that wants to mod thier atv ?, but they need to know what effects it will have by changing parts, thats all i was saying.
  8. leave it alone, if you go messing with the exhaust, you will wind up messing up the ecu programing, then it won't run right. yer time, yer money though..lol.

  10. update: been doing a ton of research on this atv, its seems a very common problem with the c.d.i.'s failing. i looked up the price for an oem c.d.i. for this thing..omg..$ 372.12 bucks !..the whole atv prob ain't worth that much ??!!..lol. oh..and i did locate the vin number, this is a 2006 LT-Z50 atv.
  11. cold temps effect the battery, maybe the battery is too weak to operate the fuel pump ?.
  12. if it's flooding the spark plug ?, then odd's are, the spark is weak ?, or the timing is off a tad ?. have you checked the compression ?. have you checked the timing ?.
  13. shoes huh ?..right !..lol.
  14. weather temp has no bearing on why it will or won't start , unless its like 50 below ?..lol. the 420's are fuel injected, they have a fuel pump, which is very common to go out, last but not least, they have a fuel injector at the throttle body. could be a dirty fuel injector ?, maybe need a new spark plug ?, there are different spark plugs for different heat ranges, although..heat ranges and temperatures has nothing to do with it not starting. put some fuel injector cleaning stuff in the tank, run it a bit if you can get it to start ?, this may help the fuel injector. also try a new spark plug. worse case ?, the fuel pump is getting to weak to allow fuel pressure to the fuel injector.
  15. that engine looks like a cb750 ?.
  16. wanted to inform everyone what me and jeep discovered while talking on the phone. if you go to partzilla ( shiver )..look up something..like bearings for your engine ? ( in this case it was for the final shaft on this project ) if you are not logged in ?, it will show the bearings in stock, BUT !!..if you log in ?, IT WILL SHOW THAT BEARING BEING OUT OF STOCK !. sooo..keep this in mind before you place the order ? ( LIKE I DID ! )..LOL.
  17. you lie !..lol. i spoke to him on the phone..soo..take that !...lol.
  18. bearing was all the way down..sat flat in the case, and it was not a sealed bearing, so in other words...if ya was able to get bread under it ? ( which i don't see how ? )..the bread would just push up through the inner race because there was no seal on the bottom of the bearing.
  19. how and where would you push grease down into an open bearing ?. this does not have a grease zerk ??..lol.
  20. if you happen to have at least 1/32 under the bearing ?..then yes..that enough room for the bread to get under it. but when you have a open inner bearing ?, it seems to me it wont work.
  21. that bearing was not sealed on the bottom side ?, so to me..the bread would just push up through the inner space. that is..if it '' some how '' could get under it to begin with !..lol.
  22. answer me this, how are you going to get the bread..or whatever you use ?, down under the bearing from the start ?, if there is no room under the bearing, i do not see how you can get anything under it to push this bearing out. this bearing sits down flush inside the case, as in..flat down inside, no space under the bearing. if there was a space under the bearing ?, then yeah..this might work, but seeing how the bearing is all the way down inside the case, i do not see it working..but hey..what do i know ?..i'm just a home school'ed mechanic !..lol.
  23. nope..if these were the problem ?, it would not idle at all !. in other words..it wont crank an run at idle.
  24. lets back up to this post. remove the air box all the way out of the at, next, find a fuel hose about 6-9 inches long, install it on the carb fuel inlet. try to fill the line with some fresh fuel, crank it up, try rev'ing it..see it it dies again ?. if it does not die ?, then you are not getting enough fuel from the tank to the carb.
