  1. looking at this engine, it looks like an 1986, no later than 1987. these yrs had the crank case breather box ( black box ) attached to the crank case, just like it is in this pic.
  2. i'm with you, i think the battery does not have enough voltage to shift good ?.
  3. jeep, just go to the police station, get the report yourself, take it to your insurance, say..'' NOW FREAKING FIX THIS MESS '' !..LOL.
  4. welcome to the red tape !..lol. i heard state farm is a total mess to deal with.
  5. after working for 3 hrs out in the pick-n-pull car/truck salvage pulling a trailer receiver off by hand tools, mess up my right hand ( sigh ), i decided right then and there it was time to add another tool to my collection, so here she is, brand new dewalt 1/2 inch drive, brushless , battery operated impact driver !. i also picked up a 2-pack batteries so i could keep one charged, while still working :-).
  6. @jeep, over here i had to go get the police report myself from the police department, cost me some cash, like 5 bucks or something ?, then i took it to my insurance company. the police will not just give the report to you here !..lol. neither insurance will act until they get a police report. as for the cost of insurance ?, mine goes by you're credit score !.
  7. if u are in the states ?, pm me yer phone number, DO NOT POST IT IN THIS THREAD !.
  8. bro, you need to tilt the bike on its left side about 45 degree's !!, cover is/will hang on clutch adjustment if you try putting it on like you have it.
  9. i've got a mac, and a craftsman, both are 18in saws, i love my mac, but i wish they did not put the auto oiling system in saws !. and the craftsman will just leak bar oil out all on its own, but it does cut great. i will never use another stihl brand saw again, they burned me big time.
  10. do you have a photo of the right side while apart ?, i want to see the right side of the swing arm.
  11. you will be wasting your time and cash, they know nothing about atv engines !..lol. unless someone there has worked on one ?, my money say's they can't help you. its very easy to do, spec if you follow my advice ^^^.
  12. i did a stupid move the other day, was going on a run, got to a stop light, made a full stop mind you, traffic light was green other way, i do not know what i was thinking ?, BUT I WAS NOT THINKING !..LOL. like an moron, i stopped, then proceeded to drive right on across as if i was doing a 4-way stop..grrrrr..yeah...dumb move..thank goodness no traffic was coming either way ?!. yikes !. i had a lot going on through my mind at that time, ( which i won't get into as it involves here..rofl ), needless to say..i did not get in a wreck ?, but it sure gave me a wake up call !!..lol. bottom line : PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE ON THE ROAD, WOODS, WHERE EVER ?..EYES OPEN , MIND IN RIGHT PLACE !.
  13. op, loosen the right side bolt on the swing arm most of the way out of frame, then take a 2 inch ratchet strap, and attach it to the frame under there, see if you can pull the frame together ?. if not ?, then send it. if it goes in a good ways ?, then put the swing arm bolt back in, and tighten it back in the swing arm bearing, then tighten the lock nut back down. it does not take much pressure at all to push the frame apart..even at 7 lbs of force !.
  14. look at the edge of the swing arm..pay no attention to the bolt threads. i see the edge of what looks like ?, the outer edge of the bearing sticking out past the edge with some grease smeared on it. this is in his first pic he posted.
  15. '02-'04 does have speed sensors on the manual shifts for sure. pretty sure the earlier versions had them as well ?, but don't quote me on this !..i am not sure on es models, fish could tell you. my memory has gotten bad, but i do not think the '02-'-04 manual shifts have the gear position on display ?, but i do know they have the mph on there, my '03 trx450fm is this way.
  16. i still would like to know if the right side has been double stacked with swing arm bearings ?!..lol.
  17. that will buff right out...lol.
  18. kinda hard to get the tape measure in the correct spot ?, but it looked like 10 3/4 inside edge to inside edge to the frame right there where the swing arm bolts up.
  19. agreed with fish, yes, they will swap over. if they are the same cc's ?..like 450 , or 500 ?, you can't use a 450 engine on a 500, wire harness will be different.
  20. left side is good, right side is not correct. in the first pic you posted, with the very large gap, i just looked at it again, and from the pic , it looks to me that i see part of the bearing sticking out past the swing arm ?, this might be way out there ?, but for my sanity , is there any chance the swing arm bearing is either not pressed all the way into the swing arm ?, or maybe the swing arm bearing has been double stacked ?. i say this, because i know for a fact, there should not be a bearing sticking out past the end of the swing arm !. what should be inside there, is the inner tin plate ( grease ), outer bearing race, inner bearing race ( some are tapered, some are flat ) then the dust seal, which in most cases are pressed in flush with the swing arm edge.
  21. i got the rear diff back together, bolted it up on the swing arm, then the center tube, had to stop, i don't have the bearings and seal for the backing plate for rear brake, time to hit catfish up again, man, i'm racking up miles going back and forth to his place these last few days ?..aghhhh...lol. spun the pinion gear, does spin pretty good, has a tad noise to it ?, i knew it would going by the teeth on the set, i hope it will get better when i get gear oil in it ?, just glad he wont be trying to go cross country on this !..lol.
  22. wanna borrow .99 cents bro ?..i think i can swing that much ?!..lol.
  23. something tells me..you're insurance might be a little on the high side ?!..rofl.
  24. i am not much for bike's with motors ?, but i am impressed with this, looks very nice !.
