  1. gasket it torn, water pump seal bad is my guess.
  2. i too agree, diesel all the way, gas is to high right now. what you are calling a goose neck, are you speaking 5th wheel ?, or the old style ball pin over axles ?. i do not see a lot of goose necks around these days ?, tons of 5th wheels though !.
  3. yeah, my '00 silverado has the 5.3L, ( 327 ) tow package, 3:73 gears, class 4 or 5 ? rail hitch mounted on the frame, very solid engine, but i can only say this..i won't push my luck !..lol. she's closing in on 300k miles , and i do not want to break her !..lol.
  4. now try that with a reg cab, 2wd !..lol.
  5. i pull my 18rd camper very easy. i was pulling a 22ft wilderness, but that was way to much weight with my 1/2 ton. i am set up for towing up to 12k pounds, but any one with half a brain cell knows pulling 12k flat trailer pounds, and pulling 12k bill board pounds makes a world of difference in the truck world !. pulling campers/trailers is an art, you must balance the load, stay in the weight range of the truck pulling it. if you have it all dialed in ?, there is nothing to lose but mpg's !..lol.
  6. yeah, they are not cheap. you can find them all over ebay cheap. you can cut the tip off the one on there now, just be sure to have an inline cut-off on the fuel line from gas tank. try one from ebay before you go cutting any tips off though.
  7. yep, thats how they work !. it will not run with it unplugged very long..if at all ?. i say replace it, run it until hot, shut it down, see if it cranks back up ?.
  8. when i make a sell ?, my ad comes down as soon as they leave..lol.
  9. let me guess, the paint was not cured/dry enough, and flaked up ?. bummer.
  10. you may have to expand your search area a lot further out to locate a good deal ?, don't count on one being 50 miles near you !. if i find a deal on a atv project ?, and its 400-500 miles away ?, i might just take a road trip ?..lol.
  11. if you get the time ?, yes, unplug it on a cold engine, try starting it, if it wont start at all ?, plug it back in, then try starting it, i bet it wont start at all unplugged, and on a cold engine without it plugged in ?. let us know !.
  12. i have heard of stories of some taking them apart ?, but i have never tried it. the circuit board is incased in a solid rubber compound, and it will not be easy to get it all out, and out of the way from what i have seen.
  13. i see ad's all the time of an item being on there, and yet they sell it, never take the ad down ?. they are '' somewhat '' smart enough to put the ad up, but not take it down ?..lol. then i see scams left and right, YOU MUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SELLING AND BUYING !.
  14. depends on how big of camper you pulled ?, i got 3:73 gears in my silverado, pulling my 18ft camper, i get about 10-11 mpg if i keep my foot out of it..lol
  15. class A ?..wow..you hit the lottery or what ?..lol. i hope you got tons of cash stashed back ?, you will need it to fill the fuel tank..lol.
  16. count yer blessings !, most oem c.d.i.'s for these are discontinued today !. makes me wonder how you got yer hands on an oem c.d.i. ?..hmmmm..lol.
  17. i have owned my craftsman 42 inch cut, 17.5 hp ridding mower sense 1996, i know for a fact how the solenoid works. there is a ton of mis-info on the net how these work. one says it prevents blow back from turning off the engine on high rpm's, which explain why they say to idle the engine down first before turning the engine off. i have also read/watched other video's explaining how these prevent fuel from filing the float bowl up, and fuel not reaching the main jet. this is NOT a valve adjustment issue, i say this, because i have yet adjusted my valves on my mower from the day i bought it in 1996 ( although they should be checked/adjusted ?!..lol ), i can run my mower for over an hour at full speed, shut it down, and it will crank right back up. my money say's replace the part under the carb. MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL AN INLINE FUEL CUT-OFF VALVE ON THE FUEL LINE IF IT DOES NOT HAVE ONE ?. P.S. you can test MY theory by unplugging it, try cranking it to start it, i bet it wont start at all ?, i have tried this on mine, if unplugged ?, it will not start and run, once i plug it back end, turn the key on, i watch the plunger open, this opens the fuel to reach the main jet.
  18. normally around 2 1/2 quarts is what it takes to fill it. pour 2 qrts in, lay the dip stick in the filler hole, DO NOT SCREW IT IN !. pull it back out, check the level.
  19. the fuel cut-off solenoid on the bottom of the carb is bad, replace it, problem solved.
  20. and 9 out of 10 times, they bought and stuck a china carb on their atv, because they could not, or did not ?, know how to rebuild it ?, or, they thought its just a bad carb, and took the easy way ( so they think ! ) of just buying an old china carb thinking that will fix it..nope !!!..lol.
  21. yw, you should know, no one can keep a good honda mechanic away from honda's !..lol i tried to leave here awhile back, retro would not have any of it ?..hmmm..i guess he knows skill when he see's it ?..lol.
