Back in the fall, I bought a new 180 with the regular recoil starter, not the easy start. It's not meant to be on par with the bigger saws. I use either my ms290 or 029 Super for regular firewood chores. But for cutting smaller trees, limbs etc, I much prefer the 180. It's so light it doesn't wear you out. If you switch the stock .043 gauge bar to a .050 gauge it will cut so much better. The thinner stock bar gets pinched way too easy and can be frustrating. The wider one tends to chug on through. I also put the metal dogs on it - it already had places to screw them on.

I've bought and sold a few atv's and sxs's on line. I've had very good luck with sellers and buyers - regular folks. But, I'm careful and get a very good feel for them before they come here or I go there. I've ignored many. Heck, it turned out the seller of my commander was, and I guess still is, a minor/medium A&E reality tv personality from your town, Fish. When I bought it, he lived in an area I think is a good bit North of you but still in LA when I went for a test drive - delivered the machine to me at my home a few days later.

When I restored my 06 foreman last year, I was having persistent problems with the carb leaking some fuel. I cleaned the carb probably 3 times. The last time, I wrapped super fine steel wool over the cotton around the ends of q-tips. I made two or three of these. I pushed them into the seat and spun them with my fingers a time or two at fairly light pressure. I havent had it leak since.

There was one a big one near here maybe a decade or so ago that got raided. After they stopped the chickens from killing one another, the state vet killed them all, which seems ironic. But really it’s not. These birds can carry diseases that could threaten the commercial operations and therefore the food supply.

Brookhaven is 20 miles North of me. They do have some really good prices at times. I was getting some parts there for my foreman early in the summer or late in the spring and they had talon 1000s for a hair over 15k. The prices on the foremans and ranchers were good too. But there was still a good supply then - not sure about now.

Yep Spring is on the way here too after days of ice on the roads.

Mine on my 02 was worse than yours and he made it look new. He'll probably have some tips on restoring the "glass" on the cover and there's some videos on youtube that are helpful.

My wife is an RN and hasn’t been able to leave the hospital since Sunday because of the ice. So I made the 18 mile round trip to town on my side by side to get her. Winched two stuck vehicles on the way. Had to sink it in a ditch so I could pull. When I began to pull that big suv, the front of it dropped off the side of the road into that ditch. It was everything my 4K warn could do to pull it. I figured the line would snap. That red line the guy is stretching out is some synthetic line I replaced the steel cable with about a year ago. It came from amazon and I wasn't sure of the quality. But it held.

I got the foreman out of the shed after all. Seemed like one or more of the tires were flat spotted - bump bump. They slowly smoothed out and were smooth by about 10 or so minutes. I guess they’re like me - not used to the cold.

We’re getting sleet in sw ms. Pretty unusual. I put the door tops back on my commander and rigged up a temporary heater/blower in my gun rack so it would be more comfy to cruise. I think the foreman is staying in the shed today!
