  1. I always lube my choke cable with 3 in One oil. If I can’t get it free with that I replace it
  2. I didn’t see where you described your history with this quad, but this says dirty carb to me
  3. My work Foreman keeps pulling the battery down when parked; since I don’t wrench on my work quads i need to check with the mech— I’ll start with a records review. what did he do to it last time? Winch contactor? Hmmm
  4. Hey what do you do with your used solvent? Do you use a distillation unit to pull off the pure solvent and leave the spent oil/grease and crud?
  5. That’s awesome! mebbe he can give you a bill of sale—abandoned property? You might need a bill of sale to register it. sitting that long the petcock might be bad. shine a light into the fuel tank and see if the tank screen is rusted; there’s also a small screen in the bottom of the petcock. If you try to pull thr petcock remember It might have a separate flange. If so use a wrench to hold the tank fitting steady while you loosen the petcock flange.
  6. Heck yeah Jeep those are the two bits—the tailight assembly and that piece of spring steel with the hoops. No hurry I sincerely appreciate your sharing them with me.
  7. Holy moly that would be great please let me know how much you want for them or if there’s a trade i can help you with Jeep👊🏼
  8. Thanks FF it’s 3M Conspicuity reflective tape. Same color and i ordered it in same width as the real deal— has that little diamond pattern just like the real sticker. the real one has a fade front to back pattern
  9. I got some 3M reflective striping to dress up the rear fender
  10. A reminder well maybe we didn’t cover this here don’t run it too long with a bad battery you could blow the reg/rec and or stator. That battery you’re using—it sound like you should give up on it.
  11. Thanks very much Jeep! if you happen to have an extra rear fender splash guard support (#5), that would complete the entire parts list!
  12. Here’s some pics of how the Novus plastic polish worked on the air box and toolbox covers. with my Armstrong polisher 💪🏻. use liberally with a soft cloth, like Turtle Wax don’t work it too hard. When it’s dried abit, Use one of those microfiber cloths to buff. i buffed the airbox cover last night—i bought it used from someone who got OD green overspray in it. Completely removed the overspray and shined the surface. worked on the toolbox light for about two minutes for ya
  13. Got almost all the parts hung on this quad. lacking a rear taillight, a rear fender guard spring and two fender guard screws. I need to add some rear fender stripes— Idle was real low so i’ll check the plug to see if it’s running rich. The starter gear seemed like it wanted to skip a little so I’ll check the gear set—might just be the compression release out of adjustment.
  14. Here’s a pic of where to look: VE91C Added a cross-reference topic
  15. Hey @Deer_hunter_088 is that a D model with an 86 front fender? If you’re not sure, reference the engine number and frame. the 86-87 A model has a different ignition system than the D model. Some other differences like brake cylinders, kill switch etc.
  16. Welcome. Fun crowd here and super knowledgeable.
  17. Here’s some handy info. 88-94 TRX300 manual cross-references frame, engine and carb numbers. The attached link cross-references other Honda frames and engine numbers. I included the carb info for the 95-2000 rigs. Bottom photo shows where to look for the numbers. https://www.hondashop.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Honda-Motorcycle-Model-ID-Chart.pdf
  18. Wow that musta been a wannabee mud bike moss growing on the cases. got yourself a project like that yellow 450 you had a few years ago
  19. My Dad showed me how to run a trot line. Caught a few catfish, lotsa carp and an alligator gar. It was my job to clean them. cleaning that darn gar was worse than trying to take off a wet sock.
  20. I see that 86 sitting out there looked like my current project guy down the road want to sell me an 87 D model but then I’d be on the hunt again
  21. Great to know it’s a 96 now check that carb should be a VE91D? just to make sure cuz aftermarket carbs are a pain to rebuild You could pull that front fender and take a look at the wires. Then take a perk at the 2 fuzes in the rear—mice love to chew those up and lotsa folks don’t like to fix it right
  22. Yeah i see you have the prop shaft for 4x4 here’s the fenders and guards as i think they were in 95 If there’s rust in the tank you can remove that petcock and cap—and use a pound of BBs and a couple gallons of cleaning vinegar to dissolve the rust. I ran mine in my cement mixer for three hours. Just dont let vinegar sit on the paint and rinse it with a high pH solution if you want to know the doos and don’ts on this LMK.
  23. The marks on the fenders are a little odd—maybe the PO bought some random stickers. To my knowledge the following looks out of place: 4WD models had large 4x4 stickers on the side of the rear fenders. this one has 4x4 in the middle of the top of the front fender—usually you see a small 4x4 sticker on the cowl section of the fender. Those knobby fender guards weren’t offered until 96?
