Some nice shootin' irons here guys! Have a pair of Savage 99's, and a pair of Winchester 94's . . . . These are Cooey firearms. Pair of Model 60's and a Model 75 (26" barrel) They're as Canadian as maple syrup! I think everyone owned one at one time. Decent shooters.
  3. Very best of the season to everyone. Enjoy yourself, have fun, and be safe ! 🌲🎄🇨🇦
  4. Your riding conditions are very similar to mine. Have used Kenda Bear Claws and found them good for what I do. The original Bear Claws were actually undersized to the advertised size. The Bear Claw EVO's are as advertised height wise, not quite as wide as advertised though. I like this tire. Carlisle Trail Wolf tires were very good on my old 350 4Trax. The OEM tires on the early 350's lasted for many years. They were 100% better than the OEM's to-day.

Very nice . . . . looks somewhat similar to our Model 60 Cooey firearms from Coburg, Ontario. Later bought out by Winchester. An older El Paso Weaver ?

Nice musket! If you were in Canada you could try out your shooting skill on our western 'jackrabbits' (snowshoe hare) . . . . they can run 45 kph and weigh 1.7 k. Probably the toughest meat you could try to eat. If ground-up they taste pretty good.
  7. Very difficult to find aluminum rims here . . . nice!
  8. Welcome Derf40 . . . . also have the same quad as you . . .
  9. Enjoy the forum oldmxrider . . . welcome!
  10. If trees weren't harvested, we wouldn't have toilet paper . . . . . . so next time you're having a bowel movement and creating a new politician . . . . think of the logger when you reach for that roll of a$$-wipe . . . 😀😁

Have that gun . . . . called a 'rat gun'. Yours is missing part of the trigger guard. The barrel is sheet metal tube with a rifled insert.
  13. Sheep hunter? Hunted the Kananaskis when it was still wild. BC resident now . . . . Flathead and its tributaries. Look into the West Castle every now and then. Shoot a .300 😎
  14. Any of you folks dealing with 'Chronic Wasting Disease' (CWD) . . . . ? A guide from Chetwynd, BC showed me a Whitetail skull from a deer he found dead on his ranch. It was found in a windrow of trees a 1/2 mile from his house. Typical frame except for the double brow tines. (6x6). The tines were flattened out to the tips, and you couldn't slide a finger between the tines. Turned slightly to either side, the whole rack looked like solid bone. Scored 205 2/8 . . . . . His brother is also a guide, and has the adjoining ranch. Neither one of them had ever seen this deer before. Hopefully I can find the photo of this old grinder. Good photo's guys !
  15. Couple of old photos . . . . different years.
  16. Welcome Ted . . . . us Canucks spell it colour too ! 😎
  17. Shade . . . . if you're financially able to retire or seriously cut-back on your vocation, do so. If it's not enjoyable anymore, seriously take a look at something else. The years go by quickly now . . . . do something that will make you happy. Good luck to you on whatever you decide is best for you. Many of us have wrestled with same issue.
  18. Did have that cover . . . . they are very good quality. 😎
  19. That trailer is made of steel. The body was cut and bent to shape in a metal fab shop. It will carry a bull moose if the bull is cut in half, and the loin is slid into the chest cavity. It also dumps. We have two of them, both still in use after 30+ years. The reach on both trailers slide out with the removal of two bolts. If the reach on each trailer is turned 90 degrees and slid back in, the trailers can be slid together and coupled using the hitch cup and a ball on each reach. Add a small outboard and you have a very buoyant boat with the large flotation tires. Another thing noted in the pics is the OEM tires. This was when the tires were made of much better materials and would last for many years. Eventually tire makers got in on the act with their 'super mudders' etc., and the OEM quality dropped off to very poor.
  20. As Fishfiles mentions above . . . . hoping that your health issues resolve Wilson.
  21. Throw a leg over that H-D and head to Sturgis . . . . beautiful state!
  22. Use 'skip-tooth' 404 on my falling saw . . . Husqvarna 2100 / 36" bar. If you've got a fast saw (lots of chain speed) this works well. If you 'rock' your saw, you've got less teeth to sharpen. The old Pioneer P41 uses a 3/8 pitch 1/2 skip.
  23. Old photo's from 1988 . . . . Alaska Highway. Machines are all '86 350 4Trax's Moose hunting.
