6 pointsI finally got some resolution from both insurance companies. Mine yesterday said they would waive the deductible now that the other party's insurance has accepted liability for the accident. Wife's vehicle still isn't expected to make it to the shop until tomorrow. Called State Farm back to pin them down on what they would and would not reimburse me for as far as a rental, and the woman I spoke with said "Well your wife wasn't at fault, and since she had a 7 seat SUV we will need to approve her a 7 seat SUV." I replied with thank you (of course) and then said I didn't want to offend her, but would she possibly provide that in writing given that I was going to be on the hook for a couple of thousand in rental fees. Her reply was "Well how about I just book the vehicle for you?" So drove the wife over to North Mississippi this morning at dawn, and she's in a Toyota Sequoia until either she gets her car back, or we return from our trip. The woman at State Farm said she would note that we would be out of town, and that if the wife's car is ready before we get back, that they would still cover the rental until our return. So I guess ALL insurance people aren't bad. Just most of them. At least we have that behind us now just in time for our trip.

3 pointsI've used that trick myself ^^^^ had to when my battery went low, and my back was out, i couldn't kick start it at all....
-
3 pointsoh man, yu'll be kicking yer butt for not getting one yrs ago !..rofl. i had my sisters hitch installed on her truck in about an hour , start to finish. love this tool !.

3 pointsI couldn’t see your left side case very well but if yours is also an early 86 engine—then your starter should fit on this replacement. also your blown up engine can be a parts donor. Keep all the parts it’s not junk. like Shadetree said you can’t buy this stuff anymore

2 pointsHey I’m Jared I am currently trying to get my 86 trx 350cc 4x4 rebuilt . I found a engine but the owner told me two different years first was 89 now he’s saying 86 . He owns a local shop and wants $400 cad for the engine but I’d like to know how to tell if it’s a 86 or 89 . Thanks in advance

2 pointsWent to a lake in Tennessee this weekend. While out on the boat we were floating around in the water when it started to rain, for the 3rd or 4th time. When the rain started to come down a bit harder we floated under the front of the pontoon boat to continue ..... floating. Cue thunder. My brother, brother-in-law and myself head to the side of the boat to get out of the water. The BIL was out and my brother was on the ladder. I had hold of the side of the boat moving to the ladder. My brother and I both suddenly felt a current go through us from the water to the boat (and probably back to the water), or maybe the other way around. It wasn't a light buzz, nor was it enough to seize up my body, but it WAS enough to REALLY feel it and jolt the body and make me have to re-grab the boat. My brother stayed on the ladder but probably because he was already gripping it. We felt the jolt then heard the sound (of course), and it wasn't at an alarming volume, so it was a bit of distance away. We got out of the water a bit quicker. Water is a poor conductor, but when you load it up with lightening, or a downed power line, etc. enough gets to you to get the job done. Well .... PURE water is an insulator, but since a lake isn't anything close to pure water, we can put it at "poor conductor".

2 pointsTwice I got hit at the boat launch , the worst time I had just walked out the water from cranking up the boat , I was barefoot and feet were wet , had blisters on the bottoms of my feet for a month
-
2 pointsLet me share a little secret with you , if your out in the woods with your 300 and the battery goes low and won't turn the engine over , some times instead of kicking it , you engage the decompression lever and hit the start button and if your bike starts easily , the little bit of battery voltage will turn the engine over it will fire right up , you only get a quick try at it , then have to engage the lever again

2 pointslightening can be felt a mile away bro while on water !. you are very lucky it did not kill you. bad weather comes ?, get off/out of the water !!!.

2 pointspicked this up from a salvage yard, pick-n-pull, you take you're own tools, pull you're own parts, this is how i messed up my hand, smacking on the wrench with an open palm, this will never happen again, that is why i bought my new dewalt, 1/2 drive impact driver !. anyway, spent 3 hrs removing it from a silverado, had to re-weld the plug bracket back on it, grind some rust, got it all cleaned up, painted it, just got done installing it on my sisters '04 extended cab, 2wd silverado, all bolts lined up, plug worked without taking to dealer to program it. cost for receiver ?..$ 33.00 bucks !.

1 pointAbout 30 years ago while working in a rail switching yards I took refuge from the storm in an all steel, well gounded instrument case. These buildings were filled with cable terminations for the power switches in the field. Each conductor had a lightning arrestor to protect the inside equipment. While inside I got too close to the cable terminations just when lightning struck the rails about 75' away. To me it felt like a shock you get on carpet in the low humidity of a winters day. Burnt a tiny hole in my shirt at the shoulder.

1 pointI'm still waiting on parts! 😞 I ordered the gaskets and when I got ready to put the magneto side cover back on, I tried removing the locator pin to get it cleaned up and ended up mauling it. Those pins fit nearly every Suzuki Quad all the way back to the 90s I believe, but nobody in Denver Metro had them in stock! They told me another 10 days!

1 pointthose deals you most likely will never forget! lol..... for a while .... i couldn't touch my cloths dryer without a small static shock lol! (carpet shock) i have no clue why.... lol.... had one guy we called Dennis the mennis ..... he thought he knew everything well a short time after that hit, i was at my uncles country store with a few of the older farmers, and we were comparing close calls with lightening, and he got in the convo... said he had never had a close call, but as long as a person was in a cab tractor they were fine, just like in a car and wouldnt be struck, and a fellow stood and said ..... no.... that incorrect, you are, safe as long as you don't have a implement hooked and on the ground, or in the soil..... if you do, then you are not safe... which is true.
-
1 pointI've been there before.... sigh, been hit three times, but i never was on the water, the one i recall the best was walking out to load the furness, and a rare rain / thunderstorm had moved in..... and the ground was saturated .... the bolt was about a mile away.... needless to say i was thrown 20 plus feet landed on my back, both of flip flops blown off my feet, now what it felt like to me was a giant funny bone hit, from head to toe.... the other two strikes, not so bad .... one struck my chevy one ton flat bed on the roof, i lost my hearing for a short time over that, and another was a direct hit from on an up silo..... that strike ran down the silage unloaded winch cable, if i had been using that, i would probobly not be here today.... it's amaising how much the air was heated up.... on those two strikes, i sure felt the static charge in the air afterwards.... I'm glad you and your friends are okay.
-
1 pointthanks !. this is the very same hitch i have on my '00 silverado. with wdh, it is rated to pull 12k lbs.
-
1 pointsounds like maybe it's out adjustment or not hooked up, there's a lever on the top right hand side of the head that should move when you use the kicker.
-
1 pointi can’t kick mine over at ALL unless the decompression lever engaged.. just saying.. haha

-
1 pointthere’s a cable-actuated and synchronized compression release on this engine if cable not hooked up you might experience difficulties kicking it over

1 pointI've discovered impacts are great for disassembly. I tend to start snapping stuff when I try to use them assembling anything other than lug nuts
-
1 pointYeah I was thinking it would be good for parts . And I decided to leave the engine detail to Rodney who’s working on the Honda . He’s going to check it out and what not
-
1 pointwheeler do you have to use a pressure washer ? in other words have you tried this with just a out spigot, and got the same, or close to the same results.
-
1 pointyep, i know mine are.... (the small wrench at the top in this pic) in the oem kit is used to adjust them, and no, the front shocks are not.....

1 pointI probably will join tomorrow. My life here is pretty dull. There’s only a handful I visited and ones never home , another is moving to another town , my uncle and wife are in their summer home and well the last one they are always screaming at each other and my folks are gone visiting family in Nova Scotia. Well dad’s here still but he’s busy farming and doesn’t like to take vacation. He’s normally to he has to take it and ends up working on the farm for his uncle because he can’t stay still

1 pointThe engine serial number for that model in 1986 started with this number, TE07E-5000001. The 1989 model year engine serial number started with this number,TE07E-8300001. Welcome to the site!!

1 pointNow THIS is how u clean ur quad!!!! lol!!! (& that’s after sitting 5 mins!) never touched it with a brush! SC-1 & Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss…. (& yes it was muddy before. Just quick pressure wash, then canon & really good rinse…)

1 pointafter working for 3 hrs out in the pick-n-pull car/truck salvage pulling a trailer receiver off by hand tools, mess up my right hand ( sigh ), i decided right then and there it was time to add another tool to my collection, so here she is, brand new dewalt 1/2 inch drive, brushless , battery operated impact driver !. i also picked up a 2-pack batteries so i could keep one charged, while still working :-).

1 pointPretty rare to see anything but Stihl saws around here. It's most people's top pick including the loggers and tree trimmers. Had mine since 1990 and no troubles. My Stihl brush saw is an impressive animal too.

1 pointI need to come in there and randomly set some stuff here and there....you know, make the place "lived in" looking....like my shop. LOL
