  1. a 2-3 ft cheater pipe might be needed to use the wrench ?, some of them bolts are tight !..lol. or you can smack the end with a rubber mallet ?, but i find using a cheater pipe slid over the wrench works faster.
  2. harbor freight should have that 17mm allen wrench. i hear they are only letting in folks so many at a time in the store ?. and yw :-).
  3. here's another pic, you can see that the two screws are at the bottom on the bracket. the bracket slides on the stud from the frame, then a nut goes over the bracket. for the pump lines, curved line goes to carb, straight line comes from fuel filter/tank.
  4. you may not have the pump hooked from tank backwards ? i looked again , but i can't make out which line is where at pump ?, but it is upside down !..lol.
  5. bro..you got the pump connected from the fuel tank backwards for one !, and two, the bracket is suppose to mount to the stud at the top from frame !.
  6. this is also a good time to inspect the swing arm bearings !.
  7. just remove the swing arm bolts, rear brake cables, drop the whole swing arm down, and back a tad, this will give you enough room to remove the old boot once you slide the drive shaft off the output shaft, install new boot. you will need a 17mm allen wrench to remove the swing arm bolts from both sides. right side swing arm bolt has a lock nut on it, DONT WORRY ABOUT IT !, just remove the inner bolt, left side is a solid bolt.
  8. no doubt bro !. it know folks want the '' cool '' look ?, large lugs and all ?, what they dont think about is the final outcome of what they do to the drive line ?. like i said, i leave tires threads alone, but in this case, these old girls do not like large, aggressive tires, then they strip out parts, and parts for these models are getting very hard to come by these days !.
  9. i normally leave tire threads alone ?, but i must warn you !!, those tires, if the lugs are very large ?, your running the risk of destroying your rear end !. why : the rear axle splines on this model are very small !!, they can not handle large, aggressive tires with large lugs ?, it will strip out the splines on the axle or ring gear gear fast !. finding axles and ring gear, pinion gears for these old girls is getting very hard to do today ?..YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !.
  10. it is tricky to get the rubber part on the pump, then the pump installed in the bracket, get everything lined up, facing the right way !, been there so many times !..lol.
  11. bracket screws will face out, you just have the pump itself installed in the bracket backwards is all :-).
  12. lol, i was gonna say, if ya look at that pic you posted ^^, you will see that the fuel lines are on the back side ( facing backwards ) of the fuel pump when mounted in the bracket, flat end of pump is facing towards front of atv :-).
  13. you could just take the left side off, and pull the shift rod ?, but !!, it wont line back up correctly on the clutch side when you install it back in !. this means the right side ( clutch cover ) will need to be removed in order to line everything back up. if you do not do it this way ?, you run the risk of it not shifting right.
  14. pump is backwards ( yes i know its temp mounted ), float needle is bad, dirty seat ?.
  15. was gonna take a pic of that sport atv ?, but he already sold it while i was gone from his place, just wanted to update ya !.
  16. agreed !, bearing is already on the cam, so yes..it retains both i guess you can say..lol.
  17. looks burnt, as if no oil was reaching top end.
  18. it will never crank unless the neutral light lights up on the dash.
  19. and some of us are still stuck in 1st gear !..lol.
  20. it does not keep a bearing in, it keeps the cam in place as far as i know ? :-).
  21. just spit ball'n here, would this have anything to do with a bad speed sensor that would keep yours and winchester's atv from shifting all the way up ??.
