  1. Your oil light bulb may be burned out. i have worked on an 08 Foreman so I’m sure i have a service manual somewhere. If your oil light is not coming on Perform the oil cooling system diagnostics—some atvs have an overheat ignition inhibit function.
  2. Both intake and exhaust valves are closed on the compression stroke. i rotate CCW until i see the intake valves open, as soon as the intake valves shut you’ll be on the compression stroke
  3. Check all fuzes with ohmmeter any mice damage? you haven’t said anything about the oil light. The oil light should come on momentarily and then go out. On my TRX300, if the FCU doesn’t activate the oil light, then i get no ignition. however, your Fan Controller might be integrated with your CDI. Double check that
  4. Trimming the wire was a good fix for me. The strands were all corroded; so was the spike in the cap. Got strong clean spark after. I also had to replace the stator, reg/rec, and CDI because the PO bought aftermarket D model parts.
  5. i like your organizational style with your parts. You have cards in them describing where they go? What engine is this from? Powdercoated red? I think Shadetree paid about $300 for the sending unit—that was at least 3 years ago. Power sports nation sells them used occasionally for $100. Here’s my last project—bought from an estate sale for $700. The owner was a small engine mech—cam chain and at least one valve was new. I need to replace the steering bearing and grease the front end bearings—@jeep and I’m sure Shadetree have great methods for doing this
  6. If you can find a used switch assembly, the kill switch knob simply pops off with a screwdriver
  7. Just a thot. You don’t need a winch for plowing. Use a new-type manual lifting arm from Cycle Country. Forget the headache of fitting a winch to this. mounted to bumper you’re going to be limited to 1000 lbs anyway.
  8. Lol not a mad scientist like Gene Wilder, more like Marty Feldman!
  9. My quad has a fan controller—yours may/may not. Use the oil cooling system diagnostics section in your service manual to target the correct module(s).
  10. You can get an electric hot plate pretty cheaply compared to the indoor option.a flame heater just heats too quickly you want slowest rise possible cheap canola smoking point pretty high. You will need a meter that reads KOhms and ohms. I made a mistake earlier by not properly indicating 1.05 - 0.95 K ohms!!! Manual should explain what your sensor resistance value should be at cold engine (77F). Typically Honda 10.5K ohms at ~212F, your fan should come on but not the oil light. 1.05-0.95 Kohms at ~322F your oil hot light should come on. ~260ohms is essentially zero resistance. Then fry some fish.
  11. The fan should come on about 100C; 212F. on my older quad, the oil overheating diagnostics explains this way: You can test the temp sensor by using an oil bath with an instant read thermometer and ohmmeter. You’re try to validate that the sensor reaches 1.05ohms to 0.95 ohm at 100C. Mine sensor reaches 0.95ohm between 200F-220F depending on whether it’s a slow climb or fast climb on heating the oil. if you have a hard oil light my bet it’s not the temp sensor but the fan controller. edit i corrected to indicate you’re testing the temp sensor not the fan.
  12. Can you check fuel flow at the carb or filter? It sounds like it’s only running for 1-2 seconds. A clogged filter maybe. Perhaps a chunk of debris in the carb bowl
  13. Start by using the OEM parts finder at Rocky Mountain atv and Partzilla. Get part numbers and start searching for, pricing parts. download the service manual from the service manual forum and or buy a printed Honda manual. fleabay is a good source to get NLA overstock
  14. PSN always been good for me. Gotta get delivery company to fess up —ive had ups show they delivered to an address that was closed, nobody there, fenced up. They delivered but we had to hunt the driver down

  18. Once you get the rear rack on there, what’s your chances the quad turns into a cat bed!?!
  19. I like those TRX400–low hulking workhorses.
  20. Here’s the cooler carrier my daughter bought me. No holes to drill but the kit didn’t have the parts to get it level so (you know how i am lol) i had to get it level!!! many trips to hardware store after all that i sold it ahhh! btw it fit the accessory bumper better
  21. The cooler carriers didn’t require holes to be cut; they mount on the fender setting brackets and the front/rear bumper. Yes, the luggage and basket racks do require holes to be cut.
  22. I can remember how i did it but not exactly parts dimensions ill gave to post pictures of the hardware i bought👍🏻Start by referring to the CMP parts list. Whereever i made a specification that contradicts the CMP list then call me on it cuz i might err. two mounting points—the fender setting brackets and the bumper brackets. Get the rack fitted before you paint or powdercoat so you minimize bending and fracturing the new coating the fender setting bolts use a hard rubber disk to protect the fender. the fender setting bolts are replaced by two new carrier bolts (12mm x 50mm?) down thru the carrier mount points, then down thru two new 3/4 inch hard plastic bushings, 2 new half inch? bronze bushings and finally to new washers and nylon locknuts. The bronze bushings will fit inside of and support the rubber disk and the bolts will slide inside of the bushings. I trimmed the bronze bushings to level out the carrier. heres a pic where i used fender washers to level it out. use 10mm x 30mm? bolts, steel spacers washers and nylon locknuts for the bumper mount. You want to use spacers so you don’t bend the mounting tabs. An issue may result where the rack is loose and rattles. i think i posted this somewhere else too!!!
  23. Thanks Shadetree good to know. He wants the racks that bolt to the bumper and fender setting brackets. Doesn’t want to drill holes in the fender if he can help it
  24. It will fit too. Not in as good condition—couple holes drilled in two of the inside lateral supports. Otherwise yes. if you have to order a second part, I would consider this shift shaft. https://www.powersportsnation.com/honda-fourtrax-foreman-350-d-86-shift-shaft-24610-ha7-670-34787.html Springs no longer available. i think the A and D model shift shafts are all interchangeable, @shadetree or @jeepwm69?
