Just curious, what are my brothers south of the border pay for .22 ammo, say a 100 pack of CCI mini mags? I don’t remember exactly, but it’s around 12 dollars at the local Canadian Tire. A box of Federal Power Shok .30-06 is 25.99, which is actually come down in the last couple years. It was over 30 a box a couple years ago.

if your in bush country ?, a 30-30 is a great starter gun !. it's light, recoil is not bad at all, and it packs a punch. my first deer ever i dropped at 300 yrds ( yes..i stepped it off ! ), 150g Winchester ammo.

I carry an M&P Shield mostly, a Beretta 92 sometimes and a Ruger GP100(.357) in the woods. Have a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 mag on order. Our outdoor range has a pistol range and a rifle range out to 300yds, someday will be 1000yds. I go regularly. Yearly dues are $30, senior rate over 60 is $18. Bargain. We also have an indoor clubhouse/range.

beretta 92s fits comfortable in your pocket[pant's], the handle hangs out though.

This belonged to my great grandfather.  He passed it down to my great uncle (my grandmother's brother).   My great uncle recently passed it to me.  .32 rimfire Remington Elliot

We haven't exactly gotten along over the years, but he knows I appreciate and value family stuff, so he knows that by passing it to me it will stay in the family.

That’s really cool, my grandfather had a 4 barrel rifle like that configuration. It was a old west  buffalo gun. Not sure what ever happened to it, assume one of my uncles got it but not sure which one since 2 of them have passed away and I only have one left.

I think I would ask the Uncle that is still living about it , never know he might leave it to you since you showed interest , or at least know where it went and solve the mystery

I got a S+W MP-15-22 in transit , all the way from the top of Minnesota -------   if anyone else wants one right now , act fast  , there are 2 left and they are rare as elephant crap in a canary cage right now .....  all the local dealers in 100 miles of me couldn't even order one for me

Fish, what dealer or town did you get it from, I've probably been there. I love mine. I've been looking and waiting for a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag. Drove about 300 mile round trip today to Scheels in St Cloud, Mn. Last one they had and price was right.

No, it's a tube of very old maps. My son has a Goldenrod in his that works good. Just be careful he said, the unit itself is very warm.

Dredd, I buy mine in the 550 packs of Federal 36gr JHP. Great ammo. If it's over $25 for the box I won't buy it. I try to stay a couple thousand rounds ahead to avoid the current situation.

I have not plugged it in yet to see just how hot it gets , think I need to mount it where it will never come in contact with any wires , plastic or wood , think I am going to plug it in today outside the cabinet and see just how hot it gets

It sounds like a big store as there is a receptionist  that directed my call to the gun department.  Very friendly and helpful people helped me arrange  the transfer as I never done that before  It was suppose to ship yesterday. He said I may have it by Friday.  We will see.

bought the gun from redd’s.  Local dealer here sent him his FFL numbers.  When it arrives I owe the local dealer $20 for the paper work on the dealer transfer to his location.  Shipping was only $15. Local dealer says he charges $35 handling and shipping on any one gun shipment.

It's a nice store but not as big as you might think. It's a city block long and probably 60ft wide but they carry a big inventory and do alot of online sales. You are gonna love that gun.

Walmart is closing out Remington 700 ADL's in 223, Remington 770's and Savage Axis rifles.  Right now I think they're only 35% off, but they'll drop again in a couple of weeks to 50% off and then to 75% off.  The trick is figuring out when to jump.  If you wait for another price drop, someone else might get it.  If you jump too soon, you might pay more than you need to.

All of those are kinda cheap guns, but they'll go bang, and should be serviceable.

Lord the calls I'm getting now..from family members who never bothered to stock up, or even make that purchase of a new handgun they had been talking about for several years...and got a call this past week from a gun bud asking me if I still had a certain model firearm..cause a long time friend is desperate to buy one and the estimated wait time is 5 plus weeks with no promise of availability.

I offered my well worn used gun for $1,000   I had bought it new for $700 couple years back...he jumped on it.

that's the mode we are in.... couple neighbors ran out and bought new pistols back in May...and you could hear them range practicing in their backyards...they'd go through that box of 50 and stop...then this past month..the neighborhood has gone silent..nobody has  ammo to shoot...

my ARs come in both 10 and 15, and there are over 25 mags for each platform...20,25,30rd mags..and sevearl thousand rounds in both 7.62 and 5.56

my 12ga offerings include a couple pump guns and one auto-loader..and it took some time, but there's well over 1,000 rds of slugs and buck.

the 22lr - Lord only knows the round count on hand, and it gets shot a lot..but probably still about 4k

my primary pistol preference is 45acp...so with years of stocking up, there's ummm..a bunch.

my wife is 9mm gal, and I've always kept about 800-1k for her.

but  with my recent Sig subgun acquisition in 9mm last December... I wound up beefing up my own 9 inventory to about 3500 rds.

I can't imagine needing to buy ammo right now..prices ,when you can find any in stock, have more than doubled what I was paying even back in January.

so , fortunately, like every other aspec of my preps...things are comfortably stocked and I'm riding this current panic out.

ya'll stay safe.

Yesterday I went to Sportsman Warehouse in Slidell , which is a pretty big store , amazing that the gun and ammo sections are wiped out ----- there was 6 things that I looked for , they didn't have nothing on my list  ---- was looking for 32 auto , 9mm , 357 ( or 38SPL )  , MP 15 magazines , 12 gauge shell belts , and something I want to try out , "" 12 gauge  1" home defense buck shot shells "" , I could put 15 of them in the shotgun which holds 5 - 3 inch shells , any body shot them before ????

"" 12 gauge  1" home defense buck shot shells ""  ---- have you shot them ?????

You'll guys with the firearms , got me back into it , I shot a hundred rounds yesterday ----  I been searching a self defense barrel for my Mossberg 500/88 which presently has a pistol grip and a 28 inch ventilate rib , kind of a funky set up  , the18.5 inch self defense barrels  have been discontinued and I found a few that are in auctions right now and the prices are insane ,all starting around $175 with days to go and finishing off  up to $300 for a barrel , I  can buy regular barrels cheap , brings me to something I know not much about and don't want to be " breakin' the law " , I have always heard you are not suppose to cut a barrel and be legal , or maybe it is cut it below a certain length , but I see barrels for sale on e-bay that are described as " professional cut " , whats up with that , would guess this is a every state has a different law question
