  1. with it being a auto ?, I have no clue other than I would not own one !..lol. if it was a manual shift ?, I would tell you to re-adjust the clutch setting. fully auto tranny's are very high dollar complex machines , if one part fails in the tranny ?, its over with, honda does not service any part inside them, it then calls for a whole new tranny, which is more than what you may or may not have paid for the atv ??. unless its any other simple problem ?, I will tell you to take it to a honda dealership, as myself knows nothing about them, cept they are junk in my book !. please keep us posted on what you find out !.
  2. is there a shop somewhere in this pic ????????????..lol.
  3. how is it even posb that warn's oem cables wont reach to the back ?. i've installed many warn winches in my time, and never..not once...have I ever had the cables not long enough to reach the back end !!!. where are you mounting the winch ?, are you zig zagging the cables all over the place ?. its a straight forward install, hook to winch ( assuming you have it in the correct spot ? ), run the cables in a straight pattern right to the back. you can't have them go up, around, down, and all that. even better if you have a tube frame ?, run the cables through the tube frame, done many this way, no need for cable ties, out of harms way of heat.
  4. so far so good, still have to see what I will do on the oil leak ?, but all the other repairs are working good so far. yeah, my truck gets moved to the top of the list every time !. thats my main transportation right now, it must be fixed !.
  5. noooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!..lol. I haven't even touched this '88 trx350D foreman in a few days !!!!, been trying to get my truck back in shape ( you already know those dirty deeds ! )..lol.
  6. haha..well..clean your shop up !. but really, mines a mess too !..lol.
  7. oem pumps from partzilla are around 130. DO NOT BUY ANY AFTER MARKET PUMPS !!!!!!!, they are a waste of time and money !!.
  8. as far as checking the valves ?, well, you will need to remove the head, if ya do this ?, then you will need a head gasket, or a can of copper spray to put it all back together. normally when I tear a top end down , I buy a top end gasket kit.
  9. thank you for the update !!.
  10. now that you have it all lined out for you ^^^^^ , here is how you attack this project: start with draining oil, pull left side cover off first, you will need a flywheel puller tool to pop stator off crank, torx bits to remove the old clutch off flywheel. PAY ATTENTION TO SHIFTING SHAFT PARTS WHEN YOU PULL LEFT SIDE COVER !!!. the shaft will come out when you pull cover, TRY NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN !!, tap it in, keep the shaft always tapped in as you pull cover off. if it does come out ?, not too much trouble , seeing how your pulling right side cover anyway. get all that back together. then start on right side. WARNING !!!!!!!! : THE NUT ON CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH IS LEFT HAND THREADS !!!!!!!. you will need a air impact , large metric socket 22m or 27mm I believe ?, once nut is off ?, simply pull the clutch out of drum, TIP: notice the words '' THIS SIDE OUT '' stamped on the cage of the bearing ?, MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE NEW CLUTCH BACK IN FACING THE VERY SAME WAY !!. now is a good time to pull the oil pick up screen from bottom of motor, clean it, install, all dowel pins in, WARNING !!, the reverse lever will come off with cover ?, unbolt the lever, try to keep it tapped in as you pull cover !!. got to run for now, if you get stumped ?, holler at us !.
  11. here is one of the starter transfer gears---> https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/28140-HA0-680?ref=f8acc1140665be76507f5fb13b7b311ec573f646 , not sure if you need the middle and other gear ?, but deff buy this one for sure !. DO NOT REPLACE THIS AND NOT THE STARTER ?, OR OTHER WAY AROUND !!!!, THEY MUS BE REPLACED AS A SET !!, in other words, yu'll waster time and money !!!!.
  12. and here is your starter from D&B electrical---> https://www.dbelectrical.com/products/honda-atv-starter-atc-trx-250-atc250-trx250-gold-snd0014.html , I'd buy from these ppl any day !. there is a cheaper version here for your starter ?, but the warranty is lower than the one I have linked here.
  13. ok, I looked for the starter side clutch bearing, and yes, you are correct, its discontinued, but !, I did how ever find this ---> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Starter-Clutch-One-Way-Needle-Bearing-for-Honda-TRX250-Fourtrax-250-1986-1987/281844341793?epid=1391195269&hash=item419f3b5c21:g:pqMAAOSwq9NZwXUe . yes, I did say use oem ?, but this is a time you do not have a choice in this matter !. when they are not made and sold buy honda any more ?, then you have no choice but to go after market. this is both the needle bearing and starter clutch bearing, may as well replace both while you have the right side torn down. you will need the right side cover gasket, and starter transfer gear cover gasket as well, DO NOT USE RTV SEALANT FOR A GASKET ON THE STARTER COVER !!!. this is critical here !!!!!!!!. REASON: there is only so much room for the gears to spin here ?, if you do not have the correct space between the cover and engine ?, it wont work very well from the starter !.
  14. not sure where you looked ?, but here is the clutch side for the kick starter----> https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/91101-HA0-003?ref=cb2055894ba655e14b03169d73cbef2ccd2651d2 . alittle pricy !..lol, but its still around !!. dont cheap out and buy a after market from ebay !, and you also will need a right side cover gasket , you will tear old one when pulling cover !.
  15. please do not remove the engine to do the work you need to do !. both one-way clutch bearings can be replaced while the motor is in the frame. i'll see if I can locate you some bearings ? :-).
  16. never seen that in black ?, most semi-drying gasket sealer we use over here is gray. as long as it never fully cures ?, it will work.
  17. welcome to our forums.
  18. don't forget about the right side, clutch cover gasket !, and you will need a tube of yamabond or hondabond...DO NOT USE ANY KIND OF RTV SEALANT ...EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!.
  19. was the reg/rec oem from honda ?. if not ?, i'd worry about this first hand !. if you had to replace battery, either from old age ?, or, it was not recharging ?. this leads to bad stator ?, or bad reg/rec ?. soooooooooo..lets start fresh !. first: MAKE SURE YOU ONLY BUY AND INSTALL OEM PARTS FROM HONDA !!, DO NOT CHEAP OUT, AND BUY CHINA JUNK JUST TO SAVE A BUCK !!!!. 2nd: my first thought tells me your stator or reg/rec went out ?, you should have tested the reg/rec BEFORE you purchased another reg/rec ( and I hope it was replaced with oem from honda ? ). if the reg/rec is replaced if it was bad ?, then you should have tested the stator by ohming it out. 3rd: if it cranks, but no neutral light ?, bad bulb ?, and its grounded to frame engine to bypass the electric start while in gear ?. either way..fix it !.
  20. yes !!!!. plz purchase your starter from D&B electrical !!!!.
  21. just make sure it has D.I.D. on the box , and for your model/year/make ?, and you should be golden !. if the box is not yellow, black, red ?, then its a fake !.

  25. 1- starter gears are always on ebay, make sure you purchase the correct set for your YEAR !. 2- careful on what brand battery you buy ?, and NEVER RUN IT WITHOUT A BATTERY INSTALLED !. 3- TRASH THAT CARB !, its not the oem/CORRECT CARB FOR THAT ATV !!. 4-but a new spark plug, regardless if that old one works or not ?. 5- yes, you can jump the solenoid once a new battery is installed. 6- almost any front brake lever from any honda atv from a 250 fourtrax to trx300 will work, posb even a lever from a trx450 as well ?.
