  1. Yep nothing wrong with red RTV If used as intended. I always use Hondabond or equivalent on ATV engines BUT if you get some meathead applying gobs of that where they shouldn’t the results will be very similar.
  2. Cute little thing. I wouldn't buy one now with the way the Canadian dollar is nose diving. Seems like price went up too since they first came out.
  3. I ran a manual cam chain tensioner once, when the cam chain was so worn the factory auto adjust wouldn't take up the slack anymore lol. It was either that or pound a socket on the end of the factory one. I'm no stranger to greasy tricks to "get by" on quads that don't mean a whole lot to me. I ended up replacing all the worn parts and re-installing the factory tensioner before I sold it. Still have the manual tensioner here, save it for the next time. My preference is auto-adjust.
  4. I have a few of the 14.5% gear sets for sale, $125 US each, shipped.
  5. Is that all there was? That looks more to me like the result of a backwards oil filter not that little bit of RTV.
  6. Well, BOTH things you mentioned are something that has been associated with Sasquatch, seems to happen fairly frequently. I find the whole topic quite interesting. I listen to a podcast called Sasquatch Chronicles, people tell stories of their encounters. I've never really had anything happen to me, even though I spent a lot of time in the woods of northern alberta as a surveyor over a period of about 3 years. I remember on one occasion though I found a horse carcass, probably not too long dead, off the side of a trail near an old abandoned/overgrown air strip, came back about 25mins later and it had vanished, no drag marks or anything obvious, not that I spent too much time looking either. I mentioned it not long after it happened over on HAF, and Macarena Man suggest it was most likely a Grizz. I respect his opinion and that's what I've convinced myself it was. But really........it could have been a bigfoot too lol. Even more minor than that, I've seen trees with lots of broken branches and ripped off bark from about 8-10ft off the ground. Not really sure what would do that. or why. Suppose a bear could climb it, or a cougar? I'm not sure. There is lots of things I've seen that "I" can't explain, but I suppose that doesn't make them unexplainable haha.
  7. I was to Oak Island around 2004 2005, before all the recent work took place. Wouldn't mind going back. About 6 hours from me. I watch Oak Island on iTunes. Other than that I mostly watch whatever I find on Motortrend On Demand, YouTube, Netflix, or Prime Video. I sub to CraveTV whenever a new season of letterykenny comes out. Watched John Wick last night, haven't seen the 3rd one yet, wife hasn't seen any so we started at 1 again. Watched escape from Alcatraz night before. Love Clint Eastwood movies.
  8. I run rope, a lot safer than cable.
  9. yeah Roy I'm a member but I never posted it there. I posted it on the 300 club page that was it.
  10. Alright posted as a package before and never had much luck, willing to part out. Honda TRX350D Cylinder head and rocker cover. One of the exhaust studs needs repaired. Stock rockers and valve springs. $225 Honda TRX350D Cylinder with STD Bore Wiseco 10.25:1 High Compresson Piston. engine was started once then piston was removed, has some marks from slight valve interference. Mint otherwise. $200 Honda TRX350D Cylinder with XR500 Sleeve and 90mm XR500 Wiseco piston which is unmodified. Assembled but never ran. $400 Honda TRX350D "Reverse Grind" Camshaft. Do not know specs on it. Started once then removed. Will include sprocket and chain. $250 Honda TRX350D Crankshaft, machined to fit 300 flywheel. Good condition. $300 Honda TRX300FW Engine Cases, machined to about 90mm for much larger cylinder sleeves. Like the XR500 Above. $250 All prices are in US Funds, shipping at your expense. Or pick up in Nova Scotia Canada.
  11. Yeah, tried the twist throttle on a Rancher years ago didn't think it was much good. Maybe on a race quad just on the track for someone that's use to it but that's about it.
  12. Yeah Mel, that's the difference between a provincial government that see's the tourism benefits from ATV's and Snowmobiles and supports the industry, vs. a a government that clearly doesn't care about ATV or Snowmobile riders. Oh well. Luckily the fines don't seem to be strictly enforced.
  13. Yeah I did try to take the Rubicant for a swim that one time. Turned out the fuel tank vent is extremely low on the new machines, unless they've moved it. Anyway, bit of water in the tank all it took, would pump fuel to the injector but injector wouldn't or couldn't spray it. I didn't have time to fix it, I was working and needed the machine, dealer had it done for me in a couple days but IIRC cost me around $300. Warranty doesn't cover stupid, I didn't expect it to. Took my lumps and moved on. Added bonus was that a bear ate my seat off it the night before too. That was another $300 lesson lol.
  14. The Can-am guys certainly do like those Apline plows from what I've been hearing, Good luck with your sale.
  15. I pretty much only run UNI filters, nothing wrong with Twin Air either though.
  16. I've been putting off getting one but really should. I've heard a lot of good things about the ones on Amazon. It seems like every time I do a carb I wish I had one, but make do without, then just forget about it until I have to do another. lol
  17. I don't like that either but the fact that it all fits in a compact little package makes up for that. And they seem to last surprisingly long. I do have a few spare cans but honestly I don't think I've used 2 full cans since I bought it in 2013. Like you said it heats up water fast so I guess it doesn't use a ton of fuel to do it.
  18. I typically just do day rides, just bring water and food, I have a little Jetboil stove that works good. Usual fire making materials. Cell phone. Gopro. It's a bit easier to take stuff on the Rubicant. When I had the renegade I had to pack everything in a back back and wear it. lol
  19. I have a bunch of parts here to put together a 350D top end on a 300 engine. It is not complete, you will need gaskets, both pistons either need the crowns machined down or spacers used on the base of the cylinder to let the valves clear the piston. HD valve springs and hardened rocker arms would be a good idea. This setup was fired up as a 350cc engine but never broke in or used. Would like to sell all as a package. Price includes shipping. Includes: 350D Reverse grind cam, sprocket, cam chain 350D Crank Machined for 300 flywheel 350D head, believe it needs at least one new exhaust stud 350D STD Bore cylinder with Wiseco 10.25:1 High Comp piston (350cc) 350D cylinder with XR500 sleeve and 90mm Wiseco XR500 Piston (433cc) 300FW crankcase that has been bored for the XR500 sleeve, opened up to approx 98-99mm. As stated this is NOT turnkey, this is a builders kit, you figure out the rest. Price includes shipping, is negotiable, and is in US funds. Not interested in trades.
  20. I think the 1" was a better choice. Looks good so far.
