  4. the best ?? I can't answer that.... Fish got me started on bel-ray water proof grease ... (Very impressed) When i installed my 424 kickout.... So i just did some research... And tried the foam oil... It's very tacky .... And stays that way .... Just my 2 pennies worth :-)

  7. I decided to give the x-27 fiskars .... A work out this morning.... Took about 2 + hours to bust this pile... I'm SUPER impressed every single time i use it! just a few more big chunks of beech left... Then over to the right my favorite fire wood.... bodark (Osage orange) i hate dealing with those thorns... But this wood is worth the trouble! I'll probably use that 35 ton monster to split that stuff .^^^
  8. The 205 has no chain ... And no internal differentail ... IMO you can't do better then Dana spicer.... https://www.fourwheeler.com/features/1406-transfer-case-spotters-guide/
  9. The New Process 203 was used in GM, Ford, and Dodge through the 70's behind auto and manual transmissions. They were originally a full time 4wd 'case, meaning all 4 tires receive power at all times. This was made possible through use of a open differential in the back of the 203 that let the front and rear drive shafts turn at different speeds as just as a diff in an axle lets each axle shaft turn at a different speed. For off road use, the 203 had a "lock" position in which the differential was locked making the front and rear outputs spin at the same speed. Shift positions are: High, Lo, High Lock, Low Lock and Neutral. A popular modification to the 203 was to install a "part time" kit to eliminate the differential. In this configuration the 203 operates like more conventional transfer cases in that it's either in 2wd or 4wd and when in 4wd the power is evenly split from front to rear.
  10. Plus one on keeping those tanks FULL .... that should be number one!
  11. Im a big believer in sea foam ........ Odd how . There's been no talk of Stabil gas treatment .... I use that in each container of gasoline ... Haven't had a single (2 stroke or 4 stroke) carb issue in more then 11 years....
  12. Fish .... I believe the 203 is the chain drive model .... My 80 one ton chevy dump bed has a gear drive 205 ... With a pto side mount for the hydraulic unit... The trans shift pattern I'm the pic 2H N 4L 4H .... now we had a 75 chevy full time fwd. it had the 203 cast iron case version ...l now she was chain drive .... The shift pattern was ( left side of pic ) L lock, L, N, H, H lock ...many thought the lock, locked the wheels to posi.... That's incorrect!! , lock, locked the differentail inside the transfer case, the 208 (i think) has the same shift pattern as the 205 .... And YES why would ford do a miss match between the front pumpkin verses the rear ??? Lol!!! All that would do, is wind up the drive train..... http://tcase.rsgear.com/technical/diagrams/ep-diagrams/new-process-203-transfer-case.aspx

Lol .... Oh! And I'm really injoying your thread.... Keep up the good work :-)
  18. @retro Did a post a while back, but danged if i can locate it in the old forums, mine was faded, and i was going to pop it out and go with a new one (i masked the entire switch minus the kill button) if you look right under the button, there should ?? Be a hole .... Short of it..... Takes a small pick, OR screw driver to unlock it, Here's two pics oddly enough....... my 97 300 (1st pic) doesn't have said hole, and my 00 300 2nd pic) does.... The 97 might have an aftermarket switch?? Or maybe the switch design changed over the years.... I'll be looking into this!

(Struck in the head, he survived :-) ) and i myself had logs piece come shooting out.... The worst was a couple days after i got the 4-way.... I had a log pop like a gun shot.... I never did see / or locate the chunk went shooting off to.....
