Here’s a ! of a load. The ol half ton didn’t mind too much other than braking. Probably 2 cord in there.

This ended up being 3 full cord. I think I’m done for the winter.

Motion pro makes a 90° tool for adjusting. But your 400x will need a D shaped adapter. Unless someone has already replaced it with a pre 05 mixture screw that will be just a flat tip head. You may also have to drill the plug out that they put in on 05 and newer carbs. Emissions crap. They do not make a finger adjustable one for a 400ex. I have a r&d flex screw on my fcr but the oem 400ex carb is not a racing carb and never will be. Anyone wanting to make power out of the 400ex motor will quickly ditch the stock carb for an fcr or even a 450r carb. These two carb can do things the oem carb couldnt even dream of. But that is why none of the aftermarket companys have picked up to need for one.

Here's my collection. The 69 105 has been in the family since 1970. Dad bought it used from a guy in the steel mill whose wife rolled it and said it was evil. I remove the original seat come summer and install a 42" wide semi padded plank that allows me to the a section of bank in the bottoms. Winter gets the regular seat and sometimes a snow thrower. The Honda is my wife's rider. We have a tiny yard. Unfortunately, the two Wheelhorses are staying outside while our Son's Type R over winters in where they should be. The 312 Hydro was intercepted on the way to the scrap yard and gets used to cut the previous owners grass when she's under the weather. I also have a snow thrower for it. I have a couple of widows living nearby that my wife calls my gray headed girlfriends. We take care of their snow and grass for freshly baked cookies. The old plow jockey is an on going experiment in see just what it takes to kill a Wheelhorse.

Here is a joke gift my stepson did with the printer. His brother wanted a new toilet for his place for Xmas, so he printed up a gift card holder to wrap up, he can do almost anything I guess.....lol

yeah I split that entire works with the truper maul. Hard to justify with how good it works. Maybe Santa will bring it for a gift.

I figured there was a good reason why I could not find a finger adjustable screw... I had to clean the carb again and this time I removed the pilot screw so I could do a better job of cleaning. I cut a slot in the head of it so I could adjust with a flat head but that is difficult while it is on the machine. I may give the motion pro a try if the cheap one does not work. Thanks for the reply.

Here's a hacked Craftsman snow plow on the Honda. Behind it is the old Wheelhorse that's been the front line driveway dozer for 13 years now. 450' of 20-25% grade limestone base driveway eats wear strips. Welded a 3/8" in strip on the last time. Gives the left arm a workout lifting it. I have no idea what model(s) the Wheelhorse is. 12hp Kohler 3sp x 2 trans with a front and back half from two different tractors welded together. I beat that thing on a regular basis but maintain it well.

I been slacking on the firewood , got some wood but it all needs to be split now , started the wood splitter this week after work and it fired right off , ran for a minute , split two pieces and it killed , think it is a dirty carb , most likely water condensation in the tank , might be as simple as draining the bowl , hope to clean it up and get some wood split so I can watch LSU lose this evening a 6:00pm with a fire on the patio

Don't remember where I seen it , they make a flexible extension adjuster , looks about 3- 4 inches long and makes adjusting easier , if they have one for a 400X I don't know ( you wrote 400X , I think you mean 400EX ) , Slammed Ranger and OH400EX would know

So.. I haven't had the time until today to finally mount the engine back into the frame, now that it's mounted up I need to check the valve clearances. How do I go about doing this? Do I need to get the engine at top dead center for this or what? Any guidance would be awesome! Here's a lil pic for the pic pervs lol.. will be more to come Thanks

I'm fully aware of the rodent problem in equipment stored outdoors. That's why I try to sneak up and give the starter a good cranking before I climb on. Then I get out the leaf blower and hemostats. Yeah, I got a real thing for mice. Hate 'em big time.😳

Will do but keep in mind historical value was way down on my list of priorities and keeping it running with minimal $ was on the top. I do grease it and change the oil often. About 5 years ago I decided a set of rings were in order when oil consumption rivaled fuel usage. I gave $200 for it and my wife was all excited to get it home and wash it. Nope. Ain't wasting the water, I told her😉

As one of your guests, you ever heard the song "bony fingers" or a song bout "Peabody's coal mine and the country store". Peabody's, coal mine, was on the WK parkway. going west from Bardstown, though the dividing line seems to be I 65. i think heard that song before, from the Alan Parson's Project. "eye in the sky".

When both cam lobes are facing down while the "T" mark on the flywheel is lined up like you have done the piston is positioned correctly at Top Dead Center on the compression stroke. Your timing is spot on!
  26. 1 point
you can get the piston on top dead center on both the compression stroke and exhaust stroke !. you want compression stroke !!.

no video ?, but i rebuilt a top end on a trx400fm years ago, started right up, then had the loudest knocking noise i've ever heard ?!. tore the head back off, seen the problem right off the bat !. some how ...do not know how or where from ???, a screw got sucked through the carb, into the intake, and got settled on top of the piston, and was getting hammered to death !!. so, word from the wise, when doing top end work ?, ALWAYS MAKE SURE ALL SCREWS ARE TIGHT ANY WHERE NEAR THE CARB..AND INSIDE THE CARB !..LOL.

This is a heat exchanger I built for our fireplace back in 2011. It throws a lot of heat in the room. I used high output computer tower fans and a computer tower fan speed adjuster to adjust the speed of the fans. I have a timer on the power outlet so I can select on or off or set various numbers of hours for the fans to run. These are older pictures from when I made it before I added the fan speed controller and timer.
