Don't ever leave home without a roll of toilet paper inside a ziplock bag in the trunk! 🙂 A clean rag and a small container of waterless hand cleaner are handy to have in the trunk too, along with your own (long) tow strap in case ya run up on a coupla' Polaris busted down & blocking your trail. A handful of zip ties, a roll of black electrical tape, some spare plastic push pins and a small coil of mechanics wire are in my trunk too, along with a tire plug kit and a low pressure tire pressure gauge.

I bought a used QA03A carb off fleabay. The carb appeared to be complete and the price was right. the seller performed an ultrasonic cleaning but it’s still dirty. So I’m posting this thread to more easily show how to clean these things. There are several members here who know these carbs better than me so I’ll look forward to providing them an opportunity to add to the discussion. here’s the disassembled carb—laid out in an exploded view orientation. The main problems with this carb is that the teeny pilot screw oring was missing and the other seals were flat and brittle. Oh yeah the piston was hanging up—i found a piece of glue or something on the side of the piston. Whiped clean and now moves freely you can see a pipe cleaner i used to show the enrichment circuit pathway.

Mechanic wire is tie wire , you know the wire they use to tie rebar together in concrete pours , great for making emergency repairs in the woods ---- as far as a short trip goes , you don't need TP , just hope your socks don't get wet , LOL Sounds like you are going to have a load on that week long camping trip ---- We were chatting about a trailer last night , this pic is the wife's 300 and the trailer I built , got about $100 into it

New user here, wanted to chime in as a fellow hunter. Hunting was one of the reasons I initiated getting my ATV (a month ago). I gave up my spot at a lease a bunch of years ago due to raising a family and this past year I was able to get back on it. I got tired of having someone drive me to a drop-off point so I'd walk, and pout about it of course. Walking in the chilly air got a sweat going with all the clothing and I'd dread going to the stand. A few times I didn't, which is my fault. I was whining about this to the wife and she would rather I spend the money on an ATV than hear me whine, so ta-da! I got an ATV. I'm starting to order the things I "need" for hunting, which really is just a gun holder and a winch. Other useful things like a cargo holder, etc. So ... Hello!

I bought a 25’ roll of rubber coated wire at Cabela’s. i also have a 9 inch folding pruning saw to make a travois and two large bandages for severe wounds. I also carry a 25’ roll of hunter orange 550 cord. i hunt about two miles off a Rocky trailhead so I’m prepared to cut two saplings, lash them together with the wire. Bind my load to the travois and get to the trailhead. im not carrying those bloody coyotes next time LOLs and I don’t want to drag a deer or lion over those rocks

Hello, as I mentioned before, the combustion chamber (Piston, Valves), was full of carbon. Therefore, it gave small, but very small leaks. I'm still baffled by the compression test, which was good, but that was the state anyway. And the truth is that I checked, since I had two Honda 420 with the same problem, at the moment both are rolling. I add that, my state or city has a dry climate and a lot of dust in summer ... Greetings from Costa Rica, my translation a little bad, but I still don't speak English very well and I have to help myself with translators and dictionaries.

After all my research I knew I needed a larger compressor. So today I made a score! I looked used but got this 20gallon 6.2CFM@40psi compressor for the sale price of $250. Reg $450. I had $111 in credits so basically $139. Once I sell mine that I have now for $100 it will be a very good & cheap upgrade!!!

Hello everyone. Sorry to be absent. In conclusion, I just had to clean the combustion chamber. Thank you all very much, happy holidays ...

I don’t care who you are. This is something everyone should learn to understand. It was the start of a revolution.

If you have the tester I would check the pulse generator. Also make sure the battery cables are clean and tight, these newer machines are very voltage sensitive.

Check the IACV valve on the top of the throttle body. It's held on with two tamper proof screws. I remove those with vice grips, and clean it. When holding the IACV in your hand, when you turn the key on it should spin one way, then the other. Clean it thoroughly with starter fluid and then put it back on, see if it changes anything. That IACV controls your idle, "choking" the machine when it's cold.

@_Wilson_™ if you wrap that with bubble wrap a few layers it will help, if you keep the wind off it, usually stuff like that will keep itself warm.

Scott again... very impressed with the variety! Heard the Demi version of song and liked it but never the "clean" version before. This one is better IMO. "Ruin" just sounds better to my ear... makes more lyrical sense. Blackbear (IDFC is sampled in this track) is also one of the new guys making stuff I can listen to. Also no relation aside from the name "All Time Low" being the name of this song but reminded me of this one Edit: The Demi and Blackbear version of the song gives me Fallout Boy and Paramore vibes

Yes, the roll of TP and wet wipes are there, good suggestion. The other items are on the list except for mechanics wire, I don't know what that is. When I get my winch, I'll also get either a kit that has two tree huggers or I'll assemble my own. The longer tow strap is a good idea, I have an extra one in my Wrangler that I'll use. Is there a covering I can put on the tow rope so it doesn't have to actually touch the Polaris's?

yes, but, it wasn't the pex line that froze, just the heat exchanger, (just left of the plug) but the main reason was the access panel that somehow, became Jared loose, and that shouldn't have happened, i meen it never has before, Bcs you had asked about a pic .. so here it is. before and after, the brass elbows are sharkbite, slip them on the pex line they seal, and lock in place, but are removable, they also straight types t-fittings, y- fitting, double -t, extended lenght types different diameters, etc.

a guess thread sometimes for me, instead of a guest thread for me. just wondering, if the song Hallelujah, by Lenard Cohan. is a Christmas song or not. never the less, i still like the song.

personally ?, i think the compression is a tad on the low side.

I think your response was translated poorly. I don't think the combustion chamber was dirty. Please try another translation. We want to know the answer to your problem. Thanks.

Hi: Unplug the gear position switch -- look for a light green/ Red wire on the harness side of the plug and ground that wire to the frame or battery neg. of the battery

no snow here just plain cold 15 over night, and a high (predicted) of 29 ..... with humidity of 29% there no chance of snow coming soon, Ted i sure hope your right about back into the 50's , you were right last time, maybe about time to purchase a lottery ticket, eh ?

HighWheelers , I like that term , you got the TradeMark on that one !!! You can run portals and not have to use a reduction in the engine as the portals come in different ratios , huge tire guys run both engine reductions and portals ----- but portals are not available for all atvs over the counter , they are avalible mostly for the newer utvs and atvs ---- but builders do build them for certain models , $800-$1,000 a wheel

update: had a chance to mess with this project, went and bought 4 qrts of honda oil from my dealer, got back home, put that in, rounded up choke cable ( new ), noticed i did not have the rubber boot that goes on the carb end of the cable ?, no biggie, engine still should crank and run. went to put my test fuel line on the carb to get some fuel into it from my trusty pump can, and then the carb fell off the repaired intake insulator boot i tried re-using, yeah, that did not end well..lol. pure junk, had to order a new one, and a few other new needed parts, taxes and all, was 88 bucks. i wanted to do a test fire on this engine ?, but now i can't ( yes..i know i could have squirted gas right into the intake on the head ) until i get the new intake boot insulator, so..for now..again i am on hold.

The second battery is in the rear storage box >>>>>> the winch solenoid is under the cooler fan , you can barely see it right behind and under that tube tee'ed off the snorkel , which is the amp enclosure cooler tube

Find a way to check spark at the spark plug while it is running. This procedure will determine spark. Also you can spray some Carburetor cleaner in the throttle body when it is running poorly. If it runs better then it is a fuel problem. I seriously doubt it is a compression problem however there is a very small chance that a valve is sticking at higher engine speeds.
