  1. I would put my money on the exhaust as well. Over the years something came loose just enough internally to give some sounds will expanding/contracting. I wouldn't loose any sleep over it and ride it until the exhaust gives issues.
  2. Our new rake tried to give itself a new folding option earlier this year. I didn't catch the bolts coming loose (wasn't really looking for problems on a new peice of equipment) so I got a surprise. I'm just glad it happened later in the day and not 5 in the morning.
  3. Cam chain is stretched and needs replaced. You can use a small flat screw driver and play with the adjuster to confirm but that is what I hear.

    TV antenna?

In my area they are worthless. You might get one or 2 channels sometimes. Cable tv also isn't available out in the country so I had Dish for years. A couple years ago I got tired of the high prices and switched to you tube tv. Of course their prices went up after doing that but they are still cheaper and with all the channels I wanted. If you can stream there are many apps that offer those channels at different price points. Sorry my answer didn't answer yours. My last antenna i got was done with a lot of research, reading reviews and taking a chance on it working. It did get 3 channels but you had to tune it constantly to get them. That was a lot of years ago and it was an outdoor antenna on a 10ft pole on top of the house.
  5. On the rear. If you jumped the brake arm one notch on the cam (there is a dot on each to line up) then the brake shoes are worn and more than likely the drum a little as well. Add a little spring to help pull the arm back and that will let you get the most out of what looks to be perfectly fine yet still worn out. Factory, just the wingnuts are suppose to be adjusted. On the front I adjust each shoe until you feel resistance and then back it off so the wheel spins free. It might take a ride and some braking to get the shoes in place if they was taken apart so sometimes it takes a couple times to get them good.
  6. Was the shift shaft (spindle) all the way in place when the stopper bolt was installed? That little end is pretty fragile but not that fragile to break without the shifter getting some kind of jolt.

    420 Problems

If you have a test light or multi meter check and see if your getting power down to the starter when it "clicks". Something is not right there and might lead to the problem.
  8. There should be no play. Either the bearings are bad, going bad, frame issues or the pivot bolt backed off.
  9. Works with the 350 Rancher also but those plugs are at a slight angle so you have to watch that when doing it.
  10. If I just drive it on the trailer for a short trip I leave it in neutral and just put the brake on. For long trips when I secure it, it stays in neutral and no brakes. My short trips are to the other farm and at slower speeds so I don't worry much about it. The long trips are when i get up to speed and I don't want anything stopping those wheels if the machine does come loose. The outcome can be bad in both situations if it does come loose but in all my years of retrieving them.the ones that the wheels could roll on, I could drive onto a trailer. The ones that hit the ground and tried to instantly stop was a mangled mess. Now if your loading them sideways on a trailer it will be a mess if it ever comes loose and makes it to the ground.
  11. Yes, the red and green. The center wire is black with a green stripe if I remember correctly.
  12. You can bypass the bank angle sensor with a jumper wire on the outer terminals of the connector (harness side of course). A couple of my 420s are running with that deleted because it caused issues.
  13. ITP had the 6 hole also, they had many different "type" in the C series wheels. STI remade the style in question which of course are discontinued but opens up more search options (STI - xm40).
  14. The ECM resets every time the key switch is cycled. You will need to reinitialize the system when replacing those components though.
  15. I use mineral spirits/ parts cleaner and just clean it, blow it dry with the air compressor, oil and reinstall. If you continue doing the method where you have to wait just buy a spare filter so you can always have one ready to go.
  16. Bearclaws will look that way. The "bead" is seated but the rim guard isn't large enough to cover the outer lip of the wheel. Ride it and let it stretch out and usually they look normal over time.
  17. Kid Rock was/is one ! of an advertiser for them. His vid was the first I heard of that can or seen it. Still the only place i see or hear it is on FB, not in "real" life. Makes no difference to me though since I very seldom drink beer. Maybe there was an outrage with the farmer, hunting, NFL, NASCAR and all the other cans that I didn't hear about and this is getting them back???
  18. Is it flashing any code on the display? If you want your user name changed from your email just let us know EXACTLY what you want and we can change it for you.
  19. They tried the firm shifts on the first DCT Rubicons and within months there was a rewrite so dealers could change the shift points and "soften" the shift. People did not like the positive/firm shift of them. @Carlson How many miles are on the machine? Have you owned it since new (or long enough) and this is a new issue?
  20. Welcome to the forum. We talk about side by sides as well so if you do get into that, you can stick around and BS with us. In my area the old 350 isn't really a wanted machine BUT it's hard to find a good running 4x4 for under 2 grand anymore. Facebook also took over the market place in my area vs craigslist and all the others. I would list it on all the free sites i could and try to weed out all the scammers that will come with it. If you have any questions on the Honda SxS line I've worked almost all of them so I could give some ideas on what to look out for when searching for a used machine. Once you narrow down what you want/need and what is available.
  21. I slacked off this winter and haven't done much cooking at all. I was about out of bacon though so I can share that again. Dry cured for 2 weeks, smoked over some apple and hickory, then sliced and packaged yesterday.
  22. My step son did the same on my 291. I'm pretty sure he left it on "fast idle" with the brake on and smoked the clutch and case. I cut wood with it for years with no problems and he destroyed it in minutes. I got lucky and found a used/free 291 and rebuilt it but now I'm the only one that uses it.
  23. I think the 450 and 455 rancher have the same pull start assemblies. You can find those pretty cheap used on ebay.

    ECM

If you revive the other thread with the problem and answer a few of the thoughts on things to try, there will be a better chance to find the issue.
  25. It's so the fuel pump will only get power if there is ignition fire. That way if you tipped it on the side and hit the kill switch on the left handlebar the fuel pump would no longer operate.
