rural lifestyle here. We see our guns as a healthy part of normal life. Most households do a bit of hunting..mostly deer and turkey. I always wear a S&W revolver with snake shot when I'm out on the property to deal with copperheads. And on the occassional nights when neighbors have encountered burglars rummaging through the cars, or sheds, etc, we tend to call one another for "support" Through the many years I never felt like I needed anything more than a small 5-7round pistol, a shotgun for home defense and a decently accurate rifle for some hunting. Ammo meant that if you planned to do any plinking or hunting, you'd stop by the store and grab a box. The end. it was only because some politicians began telling me that I should not be allowed to have a gun, not allowed to have higher capacity, that I went shopping. Swear ta God, before they opened their mouths, it just wasn't an issue to me. They are the primary reason/cause for my current tool box configuration. I'm not trying to push this to a political post. I'm just saying that some leaders, be they a state governor, a senator, media, start spouting off, while allowing, even empowering terror on the streets from the likes of antifa, blm, etc. I find myself heading back to the store for the tools and supplies they make me believe I'll need to protect myself and family. and no, I'm not handing anything in. At my, age, I'll choose option B. I've trained under our local LEO, even advanced work under our SWAT Sgt. as a privilege of having 3 generations of LEO in both city and county service. But this familiarity has simply reminded me that I have no delusions that my one bitty cannon is any match for a professionally trained, equipped force - be it local, or federal. So, no, I'm not saying "come n take". I'm simply saying... I'm not going to comply. I have an AR15, simply because they don't want me to. I've done very little work with it cause I prefer the bigger cal. I have trained extensively with my AR10 platform and yes both platforms have about 30 mags in various capacity for them. I have civi versions of the military's new M17 and M18 platform sidearms with 21rd mags and optics, etc...plenty of training on them. But the reason I bought them was because of the higher capacity as a pushback to those that told me i should not be allowed to own them. but again, these guns otherwise live in the safes in hopes that that battle bags never need to actually be used. my normal life is a simple old 1989 colt mustang 380 just to help me stay safe from the one-off bad guy, not to go to war. I am a peace maker, a worship pastor on staff at my church, Faithful to the same woman for 44 years, Dad to 4, a Pappap to 9 grandkids and still hold down a full time day job. I'm the kind of guy that helps keep the machine going. They really should want to just leave me alone and let me keep pulling the wagon (Animal Farm reference). the fact that they don't tells me everything I need to know about their true intent for our nation...and that evil, I am pledged to resist.

thats Purdy much how it is here..... all i hear is, I'd like to see them just try to take our guns away! they might be biting off more then they wish for, because LE here feels the the same way as us rural folks.. as for the cities.... well LE has more issues to handle then taking guns away from the crimal element ..... if anything, they should be letting law abiding citizens keep there's and concentrate more on drug sells and use that would most likely be at the top of the list, and that's where the real problem is!

New gun laws are written to TURN otherwise lawful gun owners into unlawful gun owners, by definition. This is what will cause the chaos. Not ONE person I know or have talked to will be turning any firearms over peacefully. But that's rural WI... i'm sure it's a different tune down in big cities. stay off my lawn.

sad to hear...and yes, don't take your youth for granted. my dad, at age 49, got up on a Friday morning to drive to work as usual. Realized he was having a heart attack on the way, turned around and drove himself to the hospital with a myocardial infarction. 3 days later he was dead..and brother, 49 is way too young. I'm about to turn 65 and seem to be taking after my mom's side of the family, so hopefully I'll be around for a while yet to support my family and love on the kids/grands. All my adult kids have enough and reasonable personal/home defense tools. But ol Pop here is the official go-to for training, advice, etc. And they are all looking forward to inheriting the various items here when that time comes. No libs in my bunch. I've made sure they have all, including my wife, and my daughters, learned the manual of arms for the various platforms I have...be it a simple 12ga pump, or an AR platform. There will be some surprises though, as there are a few items here that no one knows about.

Lost a friend this morning who was a HUGE shooter in our community. He was 66, had knee surgery last week, and yesterday was doing some exercises on his knee and just sat down and died. They suspect he threw a clot. Anyhow, this guy owned the local muffler shop. Stayed busy all the time, as he was honest, which in auto repair is hard to find now. When I was younger he had all kinds of full auto stuff (all legal/registered) and he'd go out shooting every weekend. I remember pulling up on a bridge out on the levee that used to be a popular place to shoot, and he had a Browning 1919 on a tripod in the back of his truck. It was converted to 308, and by the end of the day the truck bed was knee deep in empty cases. Had an MP5K he let us shoot. An HK G3. Lots of cool stuff, especially for a teenager. When an inmate escaped from the local state pen, they called this guy out (he was deputized) as he had better thermal and night vision than the state police, and he helped catch the guy. He worked on my Jeep when I was younger, and I even went out with his daughter a couple of times. She told me to call her, and I said "I'm not calling you, your dad would kill me". Few days later he came up to me and said "My daughter said you wouldn't call her because of me. I like you and if you want to go out with her I'm perfectly ok with it" I know he sold a lot of his full auto stuff a while back (bought a lake house with the proceeds), but he still had a TON of shooting stuff. His kids are both libs and he was divorced, so I have to wonder what will happen will all of that. Full autos and suppressors have to be transferred if sold, and that's a very long, drawn out process. He probably had pallets of ammunition. He was THE guy in town to go to if you wanted to know anything shooting. I stopped by there a couple of weeks ago and talked to him for a bit, but he got busy in the shop, and told me to come back and talk to him soon. Went by Friday and he was closed, which I thought weird, but figured he might be sick or have just taken a day off. Apparently he had knee surgery. Yesterday he was at Subway at lunch barely limping, according to BASFNB's brother in law. Today he's gone. Which reminds me, at the ripe old age of 45 I need to set up a will. Never know when our time here is done.

The shaft itself isn't any weaker, it just has the hex end instead of the spline end to mount a shifter to easily. Yes they remove the reduction gear to remove any resistance from the gears and motor while shifting. On the 450 they did use different transmission gears between the electric shift and the foot shift but you will be fine unless your are very abusive to the machine and in that case both possibly could give you issues.

First of all I want to again thank all you guys that helped me on this ordeal, I wouldn't have even tried it without you encouraging me to go on and do it. I learned a lot for sure. I got it all put back together and it shifts gears great.

As some of you know, my fight was cancelled. The entire event was. At that time, people were able to travel more and not enough in-house people would commit to a fight. We always have other gyms involved but we want enough from our place to participate. My next fight is November 20th. I took advantage of the fight being cancelled to nurse a few nagging injuries back to health. I still have my knee issues, but those won't ever heal. At best I'll do another round of clean-outs to extend the date where I'll need to have one or both replaced. I could do it NOW (or after the fight), but I don't feel it's necessary just yet. I have regular chats with my ortho so when I next go back in we will have our normal discussions about things. I'm almost two weeks away from the official 10-week fight camp. A few days ago I did my last "heavy day" (for me) lifting and will move towards more conditioning and increased skill work.

Folks, God has blessed me again, the broken bolt is out!!! Jeep, when the bolt broke it left a little tit sticking out on one side, just enough for needle nose and even when I drilled it didn't bother the tit. I got the welder ready and almost started and something said to go on and try the torch and that's what I did. The end of the drum is a lot thinner than I thought it would be. When I put the torch to it, it was set real low, not hot at all, 10 seconds max and it was hot. I took the needle nose to it and it turned out no problem. One thing for sure the bolt was never bottomed out, it was torqueing on the buildup on the threads only about 1/2 inch if bolt came out. I chased the threads and can run the new bolt all the way flush with your fingers. This is a ! of a way to learn not to do things. Now can I remember how to put the thing back together. Thanks to all that had a input, y'all had a lot of things going on in this old head.

Weight Loss, becoming more lean, etc. It all should really mean the same, regardless of the words we use as we know the pure weight isn't the real issue. I've been up and down, like many others. I had a few surgeries in a row and allowed myself to get up to 290 lbs. You may not know that if we were in person as I carry it a bit differently. Recently I had to stop training for a boxing match (I box amateur, Masters USA Boxing) due to the stress I was recently putting on a recently cleaned out right knee. I backed out of my March 12th match and am not focused on getting down to about 240 lbs and will again start training for a match. Meanwhile, I'm not just staying at home but still doing the activities I need to do, just not as frequent. I would say where I would go in for eight sessions a week, four of those were to spar or to run the bags (simulate rounds) or otherwise to up the conditioning and other benefits. The other sessions were either weight lifting or skill work. Shadow boxing was daily. The scale is just a general guide and I'm not overly focused on it BUT it is a tremendous gauge to how things are going. Assuming I get down to 240 lbs I'd have to switch from the scale to the mirror to see where I should land. 201+ is the heaviest weight classification and I don't THINK I can get that low and sustain it, but I won't really know until I get down there. Most likely I'll land around 230 lbs and be a good bodyfat %. So ... that's a brief background. I'm down to 278 lbs as of this morning. All I've really done is reduce my night snacking (fresh cookies are an issue) and tried to reduce how many calories I drink. I WILL drink some calories while at deer camp or a camping outing, but outside of that I need to remove it. I'm challenging all here to improve their bodyfat and fitness. I'd even go as far as to host a little contest to add a small incentive. That's what this thread is really about. We would make the loss % be the marker as pure numbers are a bit unfair for some. Maybe you aren't as overweight as I am, maybe you just want to drop 5 or 10? Super! I'd track the numbers and report back and keep you anonymous. Some want it that way, others don't care. Whose in? Maybe each drop a few dollars in and the winner gets a gift card or something, who knows? Proposed Rules <- Give me input on this Everything is on the honor of the participant. Contest will be based on % lost Contest to run until mid-July, or some other time. Contestants can remain anonymous, but I will have to know who you are in order to track. Weekly, Monday check-ins. If no check in, then participant gets the most recent numbers. Use the same scale each week. The outcome of getting healthier should be enough, but a little prize never hurts, either. We may put a small amount in the kitty if that helps. What else?

I'm with you there. The neighbors frown upon me dressing down for the hot weather. Can't blame them one bit. I can tolerate the cold much better. One thing I don't like about the winter is the lack of sunshine. The gray gets old fast.

this is incorrect! ^^^^ my bad, the fittings at the end of the housing where the axle comes out are grease fittings, the bleeders are here. #4 is the bleeder, #1 is the grease fitting, but most likely you will not have to bleed the brakes, (if you have the same amount of peddle you've always had) but if you do, they are very simple to bleed, just pump them up (one peddle at a time) crack the bleeder, if you don't see any air, just hydraulic fluid, your green and yellow, and good to go.

The scratches you'll have to sand out, and in my experience it's more trouble than it's worth, because you'll just get more scratches in it. Get some SC1, wash the ATV well, and then spray it down with SC1. I think you'll be pleased with the result. https://www.ebay.com/itm/353088041396?epid=657944433&hash=item5235aff1b4:g:BjEAAOSwqLRcMUcF

Oh it's getting drained, new filter, cleaned pickup, and new fluid before I run it again.. I drove it home yesterday afternoon so I can get all off that done at the house where my tools are. Thanks for the pointers. Last question. Does the transmission drain out of the filter bowl, or is there a separate drain bolt down there somewhere? Going to pressure wash the tractor good before I do anything. Will make not getting grass/dirt/debris into everything much easier.

Ohms check your sensor leads. Should be 9.5 to 10 KOhms. my sensors were in the 13 KOhm range. When resistance is higher, your engine temp will be hotter than you want it to be when the fan kicks on. I don’t recall getting an oil light with the fan on—I thought it was odd because i only heard a new sound and had to hold my hand over the louvers to feel the fan running. But the light comes on when i ground it out. Now that i have a decent sensor i can try it again.

just a note jeep, i wouldn't keep using it till i did the sump screen filter and oil. you don't want to break this tractor in half!. for a simple issue that could be avoided.
  25. 1 point
naw ..... no bleeding except for the brakes.... there's a bleeder ontop of each rear drive, just as the axle extends from the housing, but the brake system on those models are not pressurized.... but, just as much foot pressure you apply to ether the right, or left peddle. but yeah put the oil in cold... most oil we deal with doesnt foam much, but there are exceptions. you could, but we never remove ours just compressed air, but as i recall you wanted to check the fuel tank, so yes, to get a full view you'd have to remove the hood, just be careful, when lifting it off. nope. just the brakes if the peddle get soft, or bottoms out. ^^^^^ and that's where you add hydraulic oil. (pic)

I'm not disputing the temp range on the trx350, mines an 86.... only had the fan come once, but the high oil temp light also came on at the same time.... and both went off at the same time, and i believe 330f is correct. never had a wire hack... so I'm baffled on why mine acts like this, but, then again I'm not in the habit of over heating the plant.

Luckily I got 2 5 gallon buckets of hydraulic fluid on clearance at Walmart for seven dollars apiece a couple years ago and it looks like this tractor takes 10 gallons. I’ll need to get a filter, but I’ll plan on replacing the filter, cleaning the screen, and putting new fluid in there. I have no idea how old the stuff that’s in there is so at least if I replace it I’ll know what’s in there and how old it is. Is there anything in particular I need to do to bleed air out or purge the system? I imagine air in a hydraulic system could cause lots of issues

Hey Fish! I haven’t completed my Gizmos yet. Gotta finish the power supplies. Since it’s taking me so long, thought I would simply install rebuilt sensors. the newer model service manuals may not list the alarm temps along with sensor thermistor values, but the 86-89 TRX350 does. The fan is designed to come on at 100C (212F); thermistor resistance value 1.05 to 0.95 KOhm. This is supposed to kick on the cooling fan but the oil light stays out. At the overheat temp of ~330F, the thermistor is supposed to read less than 230 Ohms—essentially no resistance. The fan should already be running but now the oil light should come on. As retro said, that’s too late. @retro initially set up the Creamsicle fan to come on at 100C (212F) and go off at 85C (185F). the OEM Fan Control Unit normally responds to the sensor resistance value in the circuit, but can’t display operating temp. Beauty of the gizmo it displays all that and allows custom settings

They all passed by getting below 1KOhm by the time the oil was 200F and below 231Ohm by 300F. then I found I hadn’t mixed enough hardener in the epoxy on the first sensor i did. It puffed up like a muffin. I had problems with the applicator. Well at least I could peel away all the unset epoxy!

Fishfiles, the last bolt was a OEM bolt bought from Partzilla, the new one is a grade 10.9 bolt bought at Lowes. I used blue thread locker and torqued it to 107 inch pounds. It torqued no problem, my problem was the old thread lock that I didn't get out prior to installing the new bolt.

Received an invite to my next fight, which is August 13th or 14th, and the one is September is cancelled. I've decided that this will be my last fight. If I eventually get my knee(s) replaced and still have an interest in fighting in the ring, I'll do that. Regardless of intending to fight after August, I'll still minimally train for it, as I enjoy it. So .... my new workout plan is as follows: Everyday except Sunday - Shadowbox Monday 8 AM - Strength & Conditioning with a coach PM - Skill work with stable PM II - This depends on if I need to fill in any gaps from earlier in the day. If I'm done already, I go home. If not, I do whatever. Tuesday Elliptical work, probably an hour, to keep the blood pumping and flush out muscles Wednesday 10:30 am - One on one boxing skill work with a coach PM - Skill work with stable PM II - This depends on if I need to fill in any gaps from earlier in the day. If I'm done already, I go home. If not, I do whatever. Thursday Elliptical work, probably an hour, to keep the blood pumping and flush out muscles Friday PM - Fight Camp Saturday AM - I work on whatever strength and conditioning I feel needs work. PM - I go back in and go hard on ring stamina Sunday - Lay on couch I'll modify the above as needed, but that's my basic plan. I'm 250 lbs right now and will probably fight at 240 lbs. As of this morning, I don't like my opponent. Seconds after the fight, I'll like him again. I'll barely speak to him, though I'll be cordial. I refuse to spar against him. He messed up and agreed to fight me, so it's his fault. That's my attitude.

I'm still sticking to the "old man machine" ie the eliptical. Have worked my way up to 3 miles a day now (Mon-Fri at least). I've been eating a lot of salads with grilled chicken on them (my sister is a caterer, and I grill the chicken for her chef's salads that she sells, so every Tuesday night I grill 50-60 chicken breasts). Haven't lost a stinking pound. I do feel a lot better, and have more energy, but I guess my metabolism at 45 isn't what it was when I went from 215 to 180 10 years ago, doing the same routine. I'm going to start slowly mixing in some weight training. Looking good MW. Kick some butt.

yup A/C CDI for TRX350A D/C CDI for TRX350D the service manager explains pretty well. Most importantly know your engine number and try to get parts for your model. Lotsa sellers don’t really know but knowing what to look for such as numbers of teeth in a gear set really helps. @shadetree is super smart, esp on these quads fortunately your quad ran before this happened

Things are going well on my end, I'm down 40 lbs and staying steady on my strength. My goal is to stay at 275 lbs on my squats, which is the same as I use on my farmer's walks. Some days I'm very tired as I'm at a calorie deficient and may not get things just right, but on those days I compensate with my food intake and get my energy back up for the next day. It's a bit of a roller-coaster, as many of you know, and one would think that I'd learn this lesson as I've been up in weight and back down several times in my life. So, what's different this time? Glad you asked! I'm making sure to put events on the calendar to ensure I keep my bodyfat where it needs to be. When I've been up in weight, I've still gotten to the gym, hiked, etc. but I need something that is PUNISHING if I don't keep the weight off. I don't really think that putting my biking events, amateur matches, etc. on the calendar is BY FAR not the best way to have to do it, but until I get it figured out otherwise, it's what I'll do.

I don't think there is any danger to him being a beefcake, nor do I think most people have that issue. I think you can build a bit of muscle with the intention of aging gracefully and being able to get up off the floor when you need to. If you design a program with that in mind, I don't think you have to be overly muscular. But .... there are some things I feel are important. Picking things up and putting them back down again help strengthen many things in the body. A traditional squat or deadlift isn't for most people. They either have misconceptions about it, are intimidated by it, or feel it's for meatheads. I get that. So .... So I have him build his first lower body workout around the trap bar. It has handles that are higher so you don't have to reach down as far, it's more centered in your body so you aren't squatting nor deadlifting, you are a doing a combination. It replicates what most people will be doing in their life. And most importantly, there is less potential for injury. And almost more important, it's less intimidating and people will actually do it. Regardless of how great something is, if you won't do it, then it's useless. For my friend, I have the weights (10 lb bumpers, which means full sized) on a platform so he doesn't have to reach down as far. As he gains back some mobility, I'll lower that until we find out what's right for him. Next we do a sled push. Next is a backward sled pull, where we have a waist harness and you walk backward. Lastly, we do a farmer's walk. Take the trap bar, load it up with the proper weight, and walk a distance and come back. The farmer's walk is tremendous. And if all he really did is the trap bar work, and farmer's walk, that would be great as a starting point.

I more or less stopped drinking Cokes (in the South, all soft drinks are "Cokes") probably 15 years ago. I will occasionally have one, but we're talking 1-2/year. I do drink just about every day, but it's usually two beers, or one 50/50 scotch and water on ice, so I don't drink like I used to. The hard thing is eating healthy. It's so cheap and easy to eat good tasting, but ultimately garbage, food. Eating healthy is a PITA and it's EXPENSIVE. But it's better than heard disease, or diabetes, so it's gotta be done.

In an effort to clean up my nutrition, which is most of my issue in being overweight, I'm trying to be more conscious of the calories I'm ingesting. This means the different alcohols, soda/pop/etc and all that. I don't drink soda slash pop much, except for when I go the hunting cabin. I used to drink Mt. Dew a bunch but eliminated it and now it's a "treat". On the way to the hunt lease I stop by a certain store to get a cold Mt. Dew and the first drink is glorious! I drink about half on the way and then when it's time to come home I drink the other half. That singular Mt. Dew isn't a big deal, but if I'm going to clean up, I start there. I'm also a social drinker. I normally don't have any beer throughout the week, but then if a social event comes up, I have several. When I go camping I carry some in, also, but I may just change the amount I backpack in instead of eliminating it. I don't drink coffee, etc. Usually just water, so in reality I don't have a bunch to clean up with it, but there is room.

I do a combo of weight training and other training. For weight training I have some numbers I feel I need to hit, and then won't go above. I'll post some video here and there as I like to film things here and there to make sure my form is good. Lower Body Lower Body #1: For trap bar squats/deads, my next number to hit is 405, which is four 45's on each side. I'll get there in the not too distant future. Lower Body #2: I do traditional deadlifts & squats, though they lag behind my trap bar things. I don't PUSH hard on these, but my numbers do rise. I'm careful on all lifts but I'm cautious on these. Upper Body I do very little direct bicep/tricep work as they get hit with everything else. I alternate dumbell presses for flat and incline with barbell flat and incline. One workout I do one, next workout I do the other. When doing a chest, I superset with a back. I'm working towards chins, but until then I use a good machine to pull down, and also various rows. Fitness Training I box amateur (USA Boxing) so I shadowbox five days a week. While it's activity, it doesn't push my conditioning. My knee/leg won't allow skip rope so I don't do that. I spar on Tuesday mornings for someone else's session, and also Friday evenings. On Tuesday morning I'm there to serve the other and they are a beginner so I experience very little impact above the neck. On Friday that's different. It's controlled sparring so you aren't getting pounded. The sparring DOES push your fitness and is really an indicator of how well you are conditioned. To increase my conditioning, I use my bike trainer (Winter), outdoor biking (not Winter), some fitness boxing classes in which I actually work on my boxing, and if I have days I need to do more I do rounds on the bag. For the rounds on the bag I use the timer for 3 minutes fight (the bags) and 1 minute rest. USA Amateur just does two minutes fighting so I add a minute to push it. I wear my headgear and mouthpiece and get into fight-mode. I use several of the bags, each with a different purpose. The first one is the first part of a round, which is typically setup. Second is a "in and out" meaning I go in, do a combination, and get back out. Third is jabbing, and the fourth is the final seconds of the round where things are aggressive. I go through the bags sortof randomly and then when 30 seconds is left I get to the last bag and press a bit, then at 10 seconds I slug it out. I do this workout until I can go hard for 9 rounds, which is triple what I'd do in a fight. If I can't do it for 9 rounds, I'm not ready. Maybe I'll film this at some point if people want to see it. One would think with all this activity I'd drop some fat. It's my eating habits I need to control, that's the only issue.
