https://soiltesting.tamu.edu/ I worked for the Univ of Arkansas soil testing lab when I was in high school. I was the "Soil sample grinder" which is about as exciting as it sounds. LOL But you should be able to find your local extension service and they can help. Use a pipe, drive in the ground, then pull pipe out, push the dirt in the pipe into a box. Mail it in, the lab will dry it until rock hard, then grind it, then run an analysis on it.

It's so the fuel pump will only get power if there is ignition fire. That way if you tipped it on the side and hit the kill switch on the left handlebar the fuel pump would no longer operate.

got a late night phone call from my gal, she claims no water coming from well ?, great !!. breaker box is locked, key is here, had to make the late night drive over there, kill the power to well pump. open lid on well house, well pump has fallen over, breaking all pipes leading to pressure tank, sooo..it lost its prime you could say ?! messed up the top of well casing from getting too hot from running dry, but the worse part is..the pick up pipe fell down in the well !. its 1 inch i think ? ( i hope anyway ! ). watched some video's on youtube on how to get these pipes out ?. well..it seems hard at first, until i watched a guy pull a broken pipe out of his well with a tool like the one i made in the picture, only difference is mine is much smaller ?, but the concept is the same !. soooooooo..if any of ya'll run into this problem ?..make one of these tools...it works !..well...it worked on some test pipe i have here at home, same pipe that is down in my well. the concept works off a piviot piece of metal to grab the inner diameter of the pipe, once you drop it down your well..let it get inside the pickup pipe, then give the string ( or rope ) a soft tug..the metal flipper part flips out..wedging the ends against the inner part of the pipe, works on pvc..and metal pipes !. make sure to tie a good strong rope, cable to the tool..YOU DO NOT WANT IT TO DROP DOWN IN THE WELL !.

got the o-rings to install the hydro tube today, made a sling to support the tractor while i slide it together. used ultra black on the front case, got to wait 24 hrs ( so the package says ? ) to cure before i tighten down the bolts to the case. ordered all new parts, o-rings to rebuild the power steering pump ( it was leaking as well ), i might have time to work on mounting the new tires and rims today ?, if i do , i'll post some pics of those.

Thank you very much toodeep and shadetree that make sense. I have wondered how that all worked. I like knowing how things work. Thanks again Mark

the fuel cut-relay works from back pressure so to speak from the carb and engine. it does require power to work, but its on a pressure system, hard to explain. the cut-off relay works off the timing of the engine, it sends a pulse to the fuel pump.

Nice! Hm..... Cat drivetrain .... Thats one brand i thought would never come back... I'm kind surprised they didn't go with tracks for lower ground pressure (small foot print) but then again with one this large wouldn't surprise me if tracks were an option.... I'll be keeping up to date on this bad boy... I just hope this partnership last... I'm a bigger fan of cat then johndeere... That's why i was shocked when cat announced they would not be offering power option for over the road trucks in the United States .... That's exactly what happens when the big goof offs in Washington try to regulate things that are better left to the. Experts which the goverment is Not known for....

Remove the front fender and the fuel tank to access the frame mounting location on your 350 Rancher. Place the drill template on top of the frame gusset on the left side as shown in the photo, center punch the two hole locations and drill them using a 17/64 drill bit. Before bolting the gizmo to the frame you may want to move the momentary switch on the heat sink over to the mounting location closest to where the wiring exits the housing for easier access to that switch. The frame tubing will block access to the momentary switch from the left side, so you'll be reaching between the gizmo and the steering shaft to depress that switch and light up the voltmeter, if you ever need to readjust the actuator voltage in the future. So make sure that you can reach the switch button once the fender is back on the bike before tightening up the two mounting bolts. Once the bike is together access is from the left front wheel well. The gizmo mounting location is high on the frame so it stays fairly clean riding in mudslinging slop. This is a view from the front of a mounted gizmo: You'll need to remove the Auto/ESP switch cover from the Rincon throttle assembly and replace that with the top cover from your Rancher throttle. Here are two pics, first one is the stock Rincon throttle and the second pic has a Rincon throttle in it with a Rancher cover. Easy stuff.... Mounting the '07 Rancher 4x4 indicator lens in the Display Meter cover is risky business, because there is barely enough flat space on the Display Meter cover between the fuel tank vent hose guide and the ignition switch for fitting the Lens with the rubber boot & bulb socket attached. When you drill the hole for the lens you gotta make sure that there is enough clearance on the underside of the meter cover for the bulb socket boot to fit over the opening in the lens.... It's very tight in there.... So measure thrice and triple check your decision before committing with your drill bit. If you mis-judge your hole placement the rubber bulb socket boot will jam between the lens and the vent hose plastic holder and cock the lens in it's hole. Also you'll need to glue the lens in from the backside to insure that it stays put.... I use Ultra Black silicone gasket maker for that. Let it cure overnight before plugging the light socket into the back of the indicator lens.

The sickest I ever got was from drinking Tequila. Never again! I finished testing and I adjusted the front diff actuator voltage to 9 volts. I'm off to find three tiny screws, then I'll seal the cover down and be back for a final pic dump & installation instructions.

The Norwegians and the Irish....The reason the Irish celebrate St. Patrick's Day is because this is when St. Patrick drove the Norwegians out of Ireland. It seems that some centuries ago, many Norwegians came to Ireland to escape the bitterness of the Norwegian winter. Ireland was having a famine at the time, and food was scarce. The Norwegians were eating almost all the fish caught in the area, leaving the Irish with nothing to eat but potatoes. St. Patrick, taking matters into his own hands, as most Irishmen do, decided the Norwegians had to go. Secretly, he organized the Irish IRATRION (Irish Republican Army to Rid Ireland of Norwegians). Irish members of IRATRION passed a law in Ireland that prohibited merchants from selling ice boxes or ice to the Norwegians, in hopes that their fish would spoil. This would force the Norwegians to flee to a colder climate where their fish would keep. Well, the fish spoiled, all right, but the Norwegians, as everyone knows today, thrive on spoiled fish So, faced with failure, the desperate Irishmen sneaked into the Norwegian fish storage caves in the dead of night and sprinkled the rotten fish with lye, hoping to poison the Norwegian invaders. But, as everyone knows, the Norwegians thought this only added to the flavor of the fish, and they liked it so much they decided to call it "lutefisk," which is Norwegian for "luscious fish." Matters became even worse for the Irishmen when the Norwegians started taking over the Irish potato crop and making something called "lefse." Poor St. Patrick was at his wit's end, and finally on March 17th, he blew his top and told all the Norwegians to "GO TO !!" So they all got in their boats and emigrated to Minnesota---- the only other paradise on earth where smelly fish, old potatoes and plenty of cold weather can be found in abundance. The End

I tease shade a lot on these forms, but I tease all my friends. Few people in this world know as much about old Hondas as he does, and even fewer will take the time to use that knowledge to help out another.

I posted the problem on shadetrees post. He had me to put the old stator back in and there was a bad wire in the harness ( stator ) harness. I posted it there because I see so many people not come back and post the problem to help someone else. Thanks again for all the help. If not for Shadetree I would have gave up on it lol..
