  1. Either way, if the temp sensor wire is unplugged the light should go away if the sensor is grounding all the time. If it doesn't it's getting a ground signal somewhere else in the system. I haven't had to work on a lot of these older machines in a long time (just my own) so I'm a little rusty on them also.
  2. I remember that style of floor boards, I never liked them because of the loss of the foot peg.
  3. He should still have fire even with that sensor bad. These machines didn't have a high temp shut down system. I'm guessing 2 problems that are unrelated.
  4. I know what you want (I used it all the time also) but I haven't looked for it yet. It might be something @retro looked into though. For the time being on the home page if you click on the box closest to the "start new topic" it will change the view to show only new posts. The little bell up at the right top will also show that but it also shows activity. On the right side when on the home it shows recent topics but if you get into a forum section it will show recent posts. A couple work arounds while we look into it.

    Welcome to the forum Chris.
  6. Have you tested the shift switches? I've had some that passed the test yet was dirty enough to cause issues. Most of them I could take the left handlebar switch apart and just clean them with electrical cleaner to get them working again.
  7. Most of the guys are really proud of their parts on hoarders but it would be worth a try. If your thinking about painting one I can look, I might have a red one.
  8. Your correct, I have no clue why I said left.
  9. On these older machine the left handle bar kill switch can give problems. A lot of times they are froze in place from not being used. By the left foot peg is the neutral reverse and oil temp sensor wiring. I've seen them get damaged and ground out before which would cause the light to stay on constantly.

    my babies !

I had a neighbor that would ride his year around as long as the roads was plowed. He rode it to work almost everyday, I was never that dedicated to the motorcycles.
  11. Welcome to the forum.
  12. If you can catch me up with what has been tested or swapped so far I might be able to help out as well.

    hello again

Glad you made it mrbb. There will be a few finishing touches done to the site in the future but it's up a going.
  14. I have a few of them and added a couple more since this pic.
  15. I've been around wood and coal burning stoves my whole life so naturally I'm still burning wood. you can't beat the heat they provide. I have a barrel stove in my personal shop and a stove in the house for back up heat. When we lost power a couple years ago I had to finish cooking supper on the wood stove and that gets to be a hot kitchen.. I'll find some more pics of my stuff but for now this is what I found in my wood shed at the end of last year. Side note, my black lab is housed in the same shed.
  16. Looks like I found my xmas gift for myself...
  17. Welcome to the forum. I've never dealt with the Kymco machine but from what I have read they are decent machines. Either way it doesn't matter here, we are honda and any other brand.
  18. Welcome to the forum. Great looking machines, I've always been an fan of those old tanks and have an 88 of my own. We could have used a few of those photos (and might in the future) when trying to do a banner.
  19. Welcome to the forum grasshopper.
